Justin Smith is a huge loss on this defense. I just hope he'll be back for the playoffs.

I've kept quiet and haven't posted in this thread for fear of jinxing them, but the Bengals have pulled off a miracle. Only the 2nd time they've made it to consecutive playoffs in their entire existence. The other time they did it was the 1981-1982 seasons, a good five years before I was even born. And to do it by beating Pittsburgh, who we hadn't beat in the past two years? Unbelievable. Offensively, it was a terrible game, with some terrible play calls. But despite being on the field for so much of the game, we played some great defense. Dare I say Geno Atkins is the best interior lineman in the league? If you're an offensive lineman, you have to be worried when going up against him. :nervous:

But since I just posted, I know we will be gone by the first round of the playoffs, just like the other three times we've made it in the past eight years. Check that, I think we will probably lose anyway, even if I hadn't posted. We're used to this kind of crap being Cincy fans. The Reds showed us this two of the past three years as well. :ouch:

Who knows, maybe this season will be different. We have to play a lot better though. I really don't want to face whoever we end up having to play the first round. The defense better be ready.

Merry Christmas, all! And good luck if your team is playoff bound. :)

Its possible. Unlikely but possible. Cardinals did beat Seattle at one point.

They beat us week one simply because Wilson couldn't score on 7 downs in the redzone. It was his first real game, and since then has shaped into what I believe to be rookie of the year material.

Oh, and it's not Century Link Field now (or the 'Clink'), not Qwest Field.

New Dolphins logo was leaked a little while ago:

New Dolphins logo was leaked a little while ago:

It's a football team, not a pharmaceutical or petroleum company. Leave the (mostly) classic logo alone.

Dynamic logos are great if people are moving by at high speeds, but nobody's saying, "Oh wow, my favorite team is playing, I've got to stop right now and buy some of it".

These current owners suffer from some sort of attention deficit disorder that makes them completely ignore how to run a football team, most of the time (a club, a water park, doing little to improve the product on the field). If Stephen Ross's automobile stopped running, the first thing he'd buy is a car wash.

It ain't over, but it might as well be. Denver and New England must fall since I can't stand seeing any more of this fail effort by the Texans.

UPDATE It was 28-16 as we failed yet again at Indy. Our seeding will be based on KC at DEN and MIA at NE go. Absolute long shot for Houston getting top AFC seed is if Denver AND New England lose.

Well, AP only has 91 yards at the half, don't see him getting the record now(needs 208).

Hopefully we can hold on though, unfortunately I will have to miss the 2nd half.:ouch:

#2: New England 12-4
#3: Houston 12-4
#4: Baltimore 10-6

Pam Oliver "9 yards."

AD "9 yards what?"

Shut up you know what she meant.

Haha, he was milking it in that interview.

He doesn't give a flying 🤬 if Vikings won or lost too. He was out there to get the record haha.

Only reason I sat and watched this game is to see how Dwayne Harris from ECU did, and now he gets hurt at a totally meaningless juncture. Stupid... Didn't really care who wins, but I like RG3 more than Romo so I'm cool.

3 rookie QBs in the playoffs. That doesn't happen often (if ever it happened before).

I knew AP was going to get within a few yards but still short, I hate being right.:ouch:

At least we are in the playoffs, granted it will be tough to leave Lambo with a win but considering last year it's amazing we are even there!!!

Lots of coaches getting fired today (and GMs).

Pat Shurmur was fired today from Cleveland (Heckett was let go as GM).
Romeo Crennel is gone from Kansas City (no word on GM Pioli)
San Diego will fire Norv Turner and GM AJ Smith
Philadelphia has fired Andy Reid
Jacksonville has fired its GM
New York (J) has fired its GM
Chicago has fired Lovie Smith
Buffalo has fired Chan Gailey.
Carolina will fire Ron Rivera.

Certainly is Black Monday.

Super glad Gene Smith for us Jags got the kick. He would've screwed us over again in the draft.

I'm very surprised that the Jets didn't fire Rex Ryan as well. I swear, Sanchez must have some incriminating evidence against him or something: no WAY does someone that bad get the starting nod week after week.

And don't get me started on Tebow. I don't particularly care for the guy one way or the other, but you don't go out and go through the trouble of getting a QB who rallied his team to a playoff win vs. a tough team like he did and not use him. At all. I really don't understand why they benched him as much as they have considering Sanchez's track record.

I feel bad Lovie, as he was really was a true professional when it came to coaching. But missing playoffs for the fifth time does not make the ownership happy nor the fanbase. I just hope Bears fans don't get too carried away with this and expect instant results.

Edit: It seems the firing of Lovie is not going well at Halas Hall. The old guard and many other players are either voicing their disappointment with the firing, and others are considering retirement (Hester, Urlacher, etc). Emotions are running high at the moment.

I think Emery should have kept Lovie for that one year he had remaining on his contract, but lend Tice and the OC more support in scouting and planning. Many players on the defense are on the wrong side of 30 anyway, so one more year for Lovie wouldn't have hurt that bad.

Next season is going to either suck or be mediocre at best, and I'm afraid this may make Cutler and Marshall think about playing elsewhere in the future.

I'm still undecided if I like the firing or not.

Ray Lewis was, is, and will always be one hell of a player. I got mad respect for him and what he's accomplished. In some ways, I like to think he IS the Baltimore Ravens. Best wishes to him in the future.

Ray Lewis = Hall of Famer? I'd say 🤬 yes. What say you?

First Ballot Hall of Famer for sure. But I don't except him to stay retired. I give him one season, and he'll be back.

Holy crap. Irsay needs to hire someone to tell him when certain tweets are a bad idea.
