NFL General Discussion

If you look at the replay he clearly did not have two feet down. Right before his second foot was coming down the ball was knocked away. So good call by the refs.

Yeah, I saw that when they showed the highlight again at halftime. I was wrong. But, it should have at least been reviewed. It was .00001 of a second away from being a switch in result, and they didn't even send it to the booth.

Annnnnnd the Least Valuable Player of the 2012 NFC Championship Game is......Mike Williams! With his first bonehead play of running into a punt with no one around, he tipped us all off to his stupidity, but with yet another special teams turnover, he showed us all how "special" he was! Congratulations on the award Mike, and have fun attempting to not get shot in the streets of San Francisco.

But honestly, I really wish games like this wouldn't come down to special teams.

I know it was a very close game, but you just don't win when the only 3rd down completion you make is when the other team is playing prevent.

Or have two special teams turnovers in minus territory or drop two picks because two safeties kill each other both times or have inadvertent whistles take away a fumble. Everything that could go wrong, did, and Alex Smith and the Niners still kept it tight as could be. Kudos. I did get some major lulz typing my last post though .

Now, as long as the G-Men can beat Brady the B:censored: and his team of turd-nugget tight ends (hating the Patriots is fun ) this will be forgiveable.

Well NFL network called it.A Golden Collapse just happened in San Fran.

Looks like i'll be pulling for the Giants again in the Superbowl rematch.

Kyle Williams is due for a night in Alcatraz. Such ********.

Also, Lee Evans got both feet down but didn't finish all the wa through the catch. Megaton rule.

Anyway, the Harbaughs deserve better.

The NFL has, by far, the worst OT rules in North America.

Anyway... glad the Giants won. Now the SuperBowl won't be a complete one-sided joke.
Go Giants!

I've seen this happen before, this may or may not happen.I would have to say after Williams performance in this game,i bet he will be on the free agent pool come next season.Same goes for the Ravens kicker.

9ers just dont have enough weapons on offense.

QB is one of those positions that needs to be filled.Alex Smith had one great game.I might be calling this a bit too early since this is his first season under Harbaugh, but after tonight Smith didn't impress me one bit.

Good QB's can make due with what they have and Smith didn't show any signs of having that ability in this game.

I'm new to this thread and I have one question. By the way I'm a Ravens fan. Who's mad a Silly Cundiff and Lee Evans!?!

Almost forgot... I recorded the final FG. Be warned, I curse at the end. (Sorry!)

If I hear "Cruuuuuuuuuz" one more time I'm gonna explode. I used to like the Giants, but he made that end. So annoying.
Hey that's not his fault. All he does is catch passes and passes and passes and ....

49ers don't need to light people up for 50 a game. But what they have proved is that they can win in a shootout in the final quarter.
Maybe they should have tonight ;)

Tell me a team that has close to the D the niners have and can put up what the Saints can. But what they did show is that you can't expect to run, on us.
The Giants

Eli Manning isn't the same QB Brees is.
You're right, Eli's employed for one more game.

And Eli is

.... meanwhile Brees is relaxing in the breeze on a cool Louisiana winter night.

Yes, QFT

Let the replies begin because I know with the anti-Giants fans....

Well the Niners were soooo close. Oh well, can not wait to see the Pats get revenge against the G-Men. Tom Brady will torch that defense. Brady has been dominant, and deserves 1 more SB ring. Think of it this way, the FREAKING REDSKINS beat the G-Men THREE TIMES! Pretty sure the Pats can and will win this game.

Redskins... If the 5-11 Redskins can beat the Giants THREE times, EVERY TEAM should beat the Giants.

And yet the last 5 games when the Giants backs were against the wall they couldn't be beat. So I guess it goes if the Redskins can beat the Giants then EVERY TEAM should beat the Giants except for the Jets, Cowboys, Falcons, Packers, 49er's.

Worded it wrong. Gah. I guess that humiliating loss to the Skins lit a fire under a New York team in fight or flight mode.

Dear 49ers' Williams,

Welcome to football!

Our favorite team is our family.
Until they mess up.
Then we send them death threats.

Redskins... If the 5-11 Redskins can beat the Giants THREE times, EVERY TEAM should have a good shot at beating the Giants.

Any team is beatable, I think that is the point you are trying to make. And I totally agree, the year we won SB 42, we lost twice to the Cowboys before the playoffs. Heck, this year we lost to Seattle, 'Skins 2x and BARELY beat the Cards; we've had impressive wins recenlty and 'WTF?' losses early on. As the Packers proved this year (and is why I think Eli is better than Peyton after comparing their first 8 season...by a lot) regular season wins don't mean anything if you don't win when it counts.

However, I also think that we wouldn't be in the SB against the Pats if the 49ers lost to the Saints. I don't think we could have scored 50 points to win at the Superdome :scared:  So thank you S.F. SF will be in the NFC Championship game again next year I bet.

Buccaneers are planning to hire Rutgers Coach Greg Schiano and I for one hope that it doesn't happen. Schiano is already the most successful coach in the school's 142 year history of College Football and it will be sad to see him leave.
