NFL General Discussion

What does the win prove? That the dolphins aren't the worst team in the afc east. But we knew that already. They need to lose out. Seriously. We need those draft spots desperately.

You're quite right. I don't have a logical explanation. I just hate seeing the Dolphins lose. Plus I think this year's draft has a lot of good prospects. I'm confident we will get some good players. What I'm more worried about is the GM and head coach positions. They need to give Jeff Ireland the boot and hire some better people.

This is the only time I'll say this but hopefully the Jets can get their act together in the second half.

Ireland's only goof so far was the Dez Bryant prostitute scandal.

Tuna really set the team back with his drafting. Ireland's drafts haven't been so bad. He's only had full control for a year.

I don't believe he'll get fired anyway. My biggest hope is that we get a head coach that plays to win. Sparano didn't play to win, he played to not lose, and it cost them several times through out the season.

Sparano was a great workweek coach but was a atrocious game manager. Clock management was always bad, and he relied on field goals way too much. I think Daboll and Nolan are solid though. Just too little too late-- plus the lockout killed the defense.

Giants only way to go the playoffs right now is win both games (against Jets and Cowboys) and hope the Cowboys lose both games (one being against us)... We can go to the playoffs yet, but we gonna have to work hard.

Giants only need to win out and they make the playoffs. What the Cowboys do next week is completely irrelevant.

*Loads up Pistol* Now who's getting out ?
lol j/k
but anyway, those last two weeks is gonna be Balls Out games, where every little inch can make a huge difference to the every game...

The Giants can't overlook this week coming up. Jets vs. Giants are playing for their playoffs lives. The loser could be out of the playoffs.

And can't overlook the last week game against the Cowboys too.. And one of the things that I believe is that if the Giants doesn't go for the playoffs for the 3rd year in a row, Tom Coughlin head is gonna roll...

Nope, because we lost against the Redskins while the Cowboys won his game, so we're behind a game again... if both teams lose next week and the Giants win the last week agme against the Cowboys, that's enough to put us on the playoff since we will have the advantage in the NFC East against the teams on the division

Try again. New York's record is 7-7, Dallas is 8-6. If New York wins next week and Dallas wins then New York is 8-7 and Dallas is 9-6. If New York beats Dallas then both teams are 9-7 and New York wins the tie-breaker based on head to head. If Dallas loses next week then New York can also lose next week. The only scenario where New York is eliminated next week is if they lose to the Jets AND Dallas wins. Any other combination will make it that the Giants will be playing for the division New Year's.

That's what I meant lol

Thanks to the win over the Texans today, the Pathers are no longer last in the NFC South division. :D. I sort of wish they hadn't won though as I want to see them get a nice early first round draft pick.

Newton + Trent Richardson/Justin Blackmon = Brand new football team.

I wouldn't even mind us drafting a Robert Griffin and play a dual-QB system, Newton is bound to get banged up running anyway.

I figured out what it is with Tebow. He plays football JUST LIKE MADDEN.

Going to get sacked? No problem. Run all the way around away from the defender and get sacked for a 30 yard loss.

Also, that game was proof that the triple option DOES NOT WORK in the NFL. Sorry, Urban Meyer.

@Omnis: He doesn't play like I play Madden, I run 8 times and throw the other 70 times, and complete 80% of my passes (Short routes with John Beck ).

Exactly.

The Patriots got fooled in the 1st quarter, but after that Tebow didn't have a chance.

I love the 28 yard loss he got,i laughed about that one for a good while.

Everyone says how great Tebow is,well he must be pretty darn great to do as bad as he did against the worst defense in the league.I still don't see Tebow being a great QB.He had his run and now i think it has ended.

Now all i need is for the Chargers to win the next 2 games and the Broncos to lose out.I'm hoping that the next 2 teams defenses will pick up on what the Patriots did on defense and take Tebow down.👍

It baffled me how people believed in Tebow. If the Broncos made the playoffs they would get knocked out in their first game. The AFC West is pretty weak this year.

I wish I could remember who it was, but one of the TV analysts said "Nobody wants to play the Seahawks right now." I think he is 100% correct. The Seahawks have been playing great the past few weeks, ever since the embarrassing loss to the Redskins.

I had to google those names, as I don't follow collage football , I have seen some clips of Robert Griffin on Sportscenter though.

I wouldn't be surprised with Ron Rivera being a defensive minded coach, if the Panthers draft a DL or LB in the first round.
