NFS Hot Pursuit 3

The only thing that kinda sucks, is that you can't level up. I've maxed out the police Bounty at 100,000. Oh well.

And isn't it wonderful that you'll only be able to carry over 500 of that bounty over to the full game! Less than a percent of your total work! :indiff:

It is a demo, after all ;)

True, but for 1.5GB, I'd expect at least 2 levels. I mean, the Blur Demo was smaller than that and you could level up 15 levels.

That's true. Although, I wouldn't mind some unlocked cars...like the Crown Vic.

That rubbed me the wrong way as well, but at least you can say (If you're picking up the CE) that in addition to that 500 bounty, you'll also get five cars to start with from the get-go.

Pick up the CE and you'll get more than the Crown Vic. By the way, definitely need to play BP more often.

 yeah, I need to get some more of the trophies for BP. But, yeah, I might pick up CE eventually. If I can get some work before it comes out, I'll probably pick it up. I mean, I've played all the other NFS games up until this, so, you can bet I'll be buying NFS 14...or 16 if you count World and Nitro. That's right, NFS is the longest running racing series in the world...in fact, it's 16 years old!

But, in the intro there's a scene where the cars change rapidly, and I caught a blue Viper ACR in there and added to the main list.

Tommi has like a freaken' 3:21 with the roadsters.

Not quite yet:lol:, it's actually 3:28.89 in the 370Z at the moment but i'm trying to bring that down, I just wish the AI would stop sideswiping me.

I keep getting friend requests from people, if it's any of you guys make sure you mention that you're from GTP otherwise I won't add you. Also, feel free to add me to your friends list if you haven't got me already. ;)

I'm still having so much fun on the demo, I was playing it non-stop last night from about 8 until 12:30. :sly:

Played the demo and It's not my type of game, not suprised as NFS hasn't been my type of game for about 10 years now.

Handling is horrible. I hope they change it to like it was in Burnout. If they do, then will buy it. Otherwise not.

Why do people keep comparing it to Burnout... it feels NOTHING like burnout!

When you boost in burnout your car will instantly gain speed even when you just tap the boost..... in HP3 that wasn't the case it would accelerate at a much slower rate... bursts of boost didn't increase your speed at all...

Me in the PSN forums
it doesn't feel a thing like burnout.... Cars in burnout have like no weight... in this game the cars feel like they have an actual realistic mass. You can't hit a turn at high speed and expect to just drift out of it like burnout. when you turn your car's weight follows you, when I side check cars you lose speed but you don't propel yourself back and send the others flying like burnout, when you do this your car continues to travel in that direction you were going in, which makes sense...the great loss of speed when drifting is excellent, though its something i better get used to... The last racing game I ever played extensively was Paradise, for a good 7 months, when i started playin my older games everything felt completely different because I'm so used to Burnout Physics. In burnout there's no such thing as oversteer and understeer, in HP3 it's present. In burnout turning is static and drifting is static.... not like this game at all.

I seriously believe who ever keep thinking the physics are like burnout have not played burnout long enough. If it was like burnout, I would have been doing extremely well in this game, because it was the last racing game i've played extensively for 6 months and the previous racing game i've played before paradise was GT4, which was at least 3 years before that. I've completely adapted to Burnout physics....and treat every racing game like burnout. It's gotten me nowhere in other games. I recently bought a ps2 and played some classics... I can't even reach 5th place in GT3, I failed the 2nd event 3 times in a row in Hot Pursuit 2... I have a tough time keeping the car stable in Hot Pursuit 3 because the properties of driving are totally unlike that of Paradise.

Thankyou!. Some of the cars look even better in police form!.

Nice to see they've put the LP560 police car in the Poliza livery too.
Yeah, I got real happy in my pants when I saw that.

I mean, ugh, that's badass. :dopey:

Got a 1:21 on the cop one good game scenery is amazing.
Dang thats fast! My best time in Pursuit mode was around low 2:04 or something like that.

I still miss the slow motion spin around view from the original HP2. But this game is still really fun. Its the only NFS game I have considered buying in years. But I will probably still rent it to be safe.

Just tried the first cop race, loved it.
Definitely feels a lot like Burnout to me, and I loved that game.
I can't connect to the damn autolog server though, so I can't start the second race.
Must... resist ...urge to pre-order

EDIT:Was finally able to connect and play the second race, very nice. It feels alot like the older NFS games, with a touch of Burnout Paradise.
As far as I can tell, this formula works quite well, this could turn out to be the best NFS since Porsche.

I've been having that problem too. Try quitting the game and restarting it, that worked for me.👍

I got happy in the pants when I saw it as well, then again, I was happy in the pants when I started looking at the cars from the get-go. :)

Just got a 1;08 beat my friend by ten seconds
sheer luck to be honest.

Indeed! 👍 Incidentally, I'll admit I've never played any of the Burnout games.

The Polizia livery can really work magic on any Italian car, no matter how good it looks to begin with.

Agreed, that's why I can't understand the criticism that both games drive the same. Burnout's physics model is weightless and very shallow. It requires little skill to master. NFS HP3's, although I'm still not sold on it, is much more nuanced and requires a greater degree of precision to get right. Regardless, I still can't understand why Burnout's model is so popular. I mean, I personally can't stand it. :yuck: It works for a game centered around crashing because the cars often defy the laws of physics, but here it wouldn't apply very well in my opinion.

I also forgot to mention how Burnout does not take into consideration what surface you're driving on affects the performance of your car, nor does slip streaming. Cars don't barrel roll, or do any jumps for that matter and continue driving with unbroken suspensions.

A blast to play :D Looks great... man I hope this and GT5 DO NOT release at the same time!:scared::crazy:

That's funny that you mention that 'cause I believe I saw this:

In one of the videos as the Gallardo Police livery.
