or if the 900° steering is correctly implemented..
in shift 1 it didn't transform it 1:1
it just streched the "standard angle" to the full 900 degrees..
so i had to turn the wheel nearly once around for every litle corner..

couln't describe it better, but all who used a wheel with the ingame settings adjusted to 900° will know what i mean..

I personally can't stand in-car cams because they're a mere imitation of driving a real car. Too restrictive, no real sense of space because the A-pillar isn't physically there and unable to gauge grip from the seat of your pants.

To me it smacks of an elitist/graphic junkies view with little real merit other than wowing the player or making the play think they're hardcore because they play 'inside' a car.

Well if you really feel that way I suggest you stay far far far away from iRacing :)

What's with the moron driving! His only excuse is that the steering rotation is set too small or sensitivity too high...

At least it's easy to tell it's not elite mode, I'm pretty sure the driving line gets disabled in elite mode.

Btw, is it confirmed that there will be "elite mode" and that it will make physics more realistic?

Yeah, it has been confirmed that there will be an elite mode. And, according to some, the 'standard mode' feels like Shift 1, while the elite mode feels like a new game.

The corresponding videos and/or interviews should've been posted in this thread as well.

I find Monza looks definitely more alive in Shift. It has those very nice tarmac textures and the grass looks also great. I just wonder if the driver is drunk

The crazy driving is not dissimilar to what you sometimes see if you put a player with little to no real world driving experience behind a wheel for the first time. They have no feel for how much to react, and just end up seesawing from side to side. When I jumped in a Daytona 500 machine for the first time when I was 12 I had exactly the same problem.

I think it's a combination of the chair rocking you from side to side and the FF that makes people do that. Every person I've seen a clip of in that chair does the same thing, even Vaughn Gittin, and he drives cars for a living.

Makes me glad my Playseat doesn't have motors in it.

I have to say this is true. I have only driven once when my Dad let me and that was in one gear. My local HMV had GT5 with wheel set up (not enough room for pedals sadly. I was turning the wheel struggled to get the car round the corner.

Although my friend tried (who normally doesn't play driving games) struggles as well. It didn't help that the wheel wasn't secured though.

I couldn't watch all of the video because of the guy going back and forth constantly, but what I watched looked nice :)

Those graphics at Monza look fantastic!! Am guessing that has to be on a high end PC?

The driving reminds me of myself when i first played Shift 1 lol

I am happy to say, after being laid off for over a year I got a job as a wrecker driver yesterday! What does this have to do with Shift 2? I will be able to afford to get a nice wheel for it! I have never been able to get a wheel to play any racing games, so this is going to be great!

Questions for Jordan about your Shift 2 invitation:
1/ is the elite mode (simulator) available from the beginning?
2/ What about the sound? better than Shift1?
3/ Will it be a way to remove the speed blur in the game options?
4/ How is the handling in Elite mode with a wheel? Thank you in advance, Jordan!

Grats on your new job!

Thanks, I am really excited to be able to work again, and will have extra money coming into the house which means more fun for us. What wheel would some of you recommend for the 360 for racing? I know nothing about any wheels and don't have any experience with wheels for games, I don't want to spend over 300.00 though, and I want a really nice one. I have a grant steering wheel just laying in the closet from my chevelle that I plan on putting on whatever wheel I get to make it feel that much more real, my friend is a fabricator so he can fab me up an adapter on his cnc to fit the wheel.

Well, you basically have two options for the Xbox:
The Microsoft Wheel which isn't very nice and a Fanatac which isn't very cheap...

The Fanatec is actually in his price range($250), but it doesn't come with pedals($50) or a shifter(has paddles on the wheel though).

Also, you can't really change the wheel on either one without cannibalizing the wheel.

They charge extra for the pedals? Wow, that's pretty greedy isn't it? Changing the wheel won't be a problem, I actually went to college for industrial electronics, and since my friend has a cnc and does that, well with the both of us it won't be an issue:tup: I guess I will be getting a Fanatec then, I have heard nothing but horror stories about the M$ wheel.

How's your desktop. If it can run Shift, get the PC version and go for the G27.

My desktop is 11 years old, my laptop I just got last year but its only a Dell, nothing special. I have always been a console gamer, the cost of building a proper pc to play just doesn't fit me. I just watched a review on the Fanatec wheel and the steering wheel it has on it looks good to me so I won't be messing with it. The M$ wheel I would for sure pull off and put my grant on it though.

I will be getting this wheel:Fanatec Speedster 3 Force Shock Wheel

It's only 150.00! That is a great price for the quality of this thing!
