Help me out here. I preordered too. I am wanting the extra 40 events. Now is this for the preorders that you get the extra forty or is it actually preordering the Limited Edition. I went to a local retail to preorder and I wasn't giving the option of Limited Edition or Regular addition.

I began to assume that all preorders are limited editions but heck I don't know now.

At my local gamestop they had a banner with only the limited edition suggesting you to preorder it and the cover of the game on the banner had a silver line with limited edition write on it. There wans't the regular one.. so i don't know... IMO it's a general preorder and you'll get the code for extra stuff.

Well, I think all they'd need to do is make sure that most (if not all) assists slow you down. That'd be enough, I think. Whether that's probable, though... I don't know.

Well, I only know about the situation in Germany, but the guys at the GameStop I preordered it usually try to talk me into getting a limited edition if there is one. They didn't do it this time and I never saw it advertised anywhere, so I'm inclined to believe that it's just a preorder bonus.

I WANT THIS GAME, WEATHER WILL BE IN IF BELOW IS TRUE!

FROM WWW.GAMEPRO.COM TEST AT PAX:

----Other factors such as hazardous weather conditions promise to ratchet the tension even further, though I didn't experience those during my demo.......
Regardless, I look forward to putting on the imaginary helmet and plowing into walls during nighttime rainstorms when the final game arrives on March 29.

Hmm might be a mistake.
I'm sure the cat would have been out of the bag before now.

Great if it's in though.

The info on the article is 99.99% false!

Shift 2 won't have dynamic weather like rain. Also there will not be day-to-night transition. You will drive in either dawn, day, dusk or night. There was a discussion at virtualr.net where it was confirmed that rain and day-to-night transition will not be in Shift 2.

In the same discussion it was revealed that there will be different cloud cover (overcast or not) that will effect track temperature etc. I am not sure how that feature will work or if it is even in the game for real. But maybe these are the "hazardous weather conditions" mentioned in the article...

Anyway, the article is probably wrong. If you believe it then you may be disappointed with the final game. Take the article as fake and if "nighttime rainstorms" make it to the game (highly unlikely) then you will be pleasantly surprised. ;)

Personally I know that's the right thing to do. Although I would like Shift 2 to have rain conditions I know it's better to keep a feature like that for the next game in the series if they can't make it work properly and have the same quality as the rest of the game. Shift 2 is shaping up to be an amazing game! :D

Quality beats quantity any time!
A bad feature makes a game worse!

Fantastic 👍

One thing is for sure we dont need to worry about the graphics...looks great!

I second that. It looks as good as.......gotta say it, GT5. Looks like they changed the steering axis from the middle. This is one of the best post I have seen in weeks though. It looks very promising. Last time I said this was 6 months before Nov 24,2010 about...............you guess it, GT5. I ate my words. I hope I don't have to do it again.

i have an idea for a question. We have seen that every car can be works converted, but can we use certain works cars in the gt1 and gt3 sections?

That's a good review. Reconfirms tyre wear, and career mode looks interesting in it's progression.

Also, more confirmation that elite mode is reasonably serious business.

Devs at Speedhunter were speaking about realistic physics, seems this gam is going to be the real deal.
My only concern now is about frame rate, I don't know if 30fps are enough for me, I'm considering to sell my PS3 and go buy an external graphic card for play S2U pc version at 60fps. I would like to ask to all the pc guru in here (where are you xboxox? :) ) What kind of external grapihc card I will need to run S2U at 60fps @ 1366x768 in an Asus laptop Dual Core Duo 8700, 500GB hard disk, 4GB memory? (My laptop's graphic card atm as a weak nVidia Geforce G102m, vram 512mb). Is my laptop enough? Or even if I buy an external graphic card I wont reach 60fps? Thanks in advance if you know something about.

Laptop will probably not be enough unfortunately - would be rough even at medium details even in Shift 1. Anything reasonably recent desktop/gaming laptop wise should be capable of running it though. You can put together a budget system with a core i "k" cpu pretty cheap now and they're mad fast.

New video, the one they promised a week or two ago of tommy milner driving:

The problem I have with that video is you can see that steering input still doesn't translate that well to the screen. His hands were moving a lot, but on screen there was lag before driver hands moved and sometimes the hands didn't move at all.

How it feels with a wheel on PS3 is the key for me if I will get it. The tracklist is what makes it most tempting for me.

...unrealistic?
I hope these aren't the replay cameras.

Anyway, rest looks good, if it's playable and realistic with a controller, it could be great, too bad there won't a demo.

no good, i dont' care if it's unrealistic.

Awesome Video and the sound is just wow. But I have the feeling this video was staged and not the actual Lap he raced. Because of the steering animation. You seen in another video that it's now 1:1 accurate. And the devs said it aswell.
But hmm it's a racecar they have no 900°. And if the Wheel has a 900° it maybe explains it.

Thanks for the feedback, I think I'll wait and see how the PS3 version's frame rate will be, if it wont be enough I'll consider selling PS3 + laptop and buy a gaming laptop. Is that the pc version in the video right? 60fps-ish? Awesome.

PS the sound probably isn't ingame.

The sound was great. I did not recognize one of my favorite tracks until the corkscrew. It did not feel like it was a California location. :)

Not much slipping and sliding ... good news.

Awesome vid. Looks great, if a little brownish for my tastes. Is brown how art directors really see the world, I wonder? I like the hood panel shaking. Sound is nice and loud--the one area I don't care least about realism and just want to feel it in my ribs. Also like others, I didn't recognize the course until it did ...that. I do like the artistic liberties they take with scenery. It's a good compromise, but is certainly that--a compromise. Without it, the tracks are so bland and samey. PD gets away with it with their fantasy tracks, which is probably a slightly more entertaining way around the problem.

I plugged in shift 1 (PS3) again last night, but was again displeased with it. My main issue is that when I'm turning into a corner (full grip, no grip, doesn't matter), there is no physical resistance to me turning the *other* direction and it just really bothers me. The wheel's just limp. Is it because my wheel has 2 motors? And of course the cars are floaty as hell on straights, and there's a huge center deadzone, but I know that's a game issue and not just my personal setup. I haven't yet heard anybody complain about the lack of feedback in turns besides me.

Yeah thats it... Shift 1 only works well with 3 motors force feeback wheels :dopey:
