In case you were wondering what Eleanor has been up to lately, here's an update.
I'm holding off on the motor swap til spring or summer.

Hit 200K a few weeks back

Ran my car up a curb last week. Don't drink and drive.
Here's some pics of the damage. Steering wheel is straight.

Crubbed the wheel all the way around, which sucks. But at least didn't break.

My control arm got a bit twisted along with the tension rod. Not too angry about that since I wanted to get some new suspension goodies soon anyways.

Also got rid of the OBX header. Was a pain, so I got the Megan 4-1 header and downpipe. Much better fitment and no steering knuckle scrape.

To go with it, I got the ISIS dual 3" exhaust. Kept the resonated GT pipe to quiet it down a little, which doesn't do too good of a job. :P

200k and 240 miles on the trip, in a 240SX. ;)

I plan to buy a new set of wheels sometime in the future. I'm thinking of replacing the one for the time being. I'll need a new tire too. I don't know if anyone would mount the old one since it's all chopped up from my wheel well.

This weekend I'm finally going to put some audio in my car. I've been driving for almost a year with no stereo!
I'm considering 2 options. 1 is the normal head unit.

2nd option is kind of cool. Was thinking of using an amplifier for my unit, and wire my speakers to it. I don't listen to the radio, so an auxiliary cord to my phone or ipod will be perfect. I tried it out with an amp I have last night, and it worked pretty good. I could mount it under a seat and run the wires under the center console.

Of course there will still be the big gaping hole in the dash, but I have a couple ideas for that as well. I don't want to give away too much right now. Not until I do it, if I go that route.

Here's my 180,
nizmo_bro FYI stay away from them ricer racing stripes. That's one way to kill a perfect car.

I got some tunes in my car finally. Went with the amp. Got it hooked up, and some new 3-way speakers. Sadly the rear ones won't work, must be bad wires.
I'm in a need for a small sub for some bass though. Was thinking of getting one of the compact ones for under the driver seat, but they are powered with an amp. Not sure if that'll work with my current one that's powering my speakers.

Got all my interior back in place too. And for the big gap in the center I went with a custom black board. Now I can doodle in my car or take notes. I'm gonna fidge around with the top brackets holding it in so it sits flush. I think I can flip them around. If not, I can get some washers in or something. Also got a bubble shift knob along with a brand new shift boot.

I almost bought a 99 miata the other day. It was at a dealership for $4000, low miles. Emerald Mica with a black soft top, and cloth seats. Almost perfect other than having lowrider wheels. I wouldn't get anything worth trading in my car there though. I'm glad I didn't. I'd rather keep improving my S13. It already is one of the best looking ones in there area. Probably the loudest too. ;)

On the to do list that I hope to get done by this time next year is
-New motor, leaning towards a new KA, low miles or rebuilt
-New bumper and sideskirts
-New paint, I'm going for a type of blue. I found a few Toyota colors I liked while picking at work.
-Improve on audio. Probably will switch over to an actual head unit.

No real update, just a photo drop. Had some fun in the snow while doing some Christmas shopping this morning. Nice mini lot for drifting. Some guy wrecked there before I got there in his Galant. I didn't know anyone was in it until I did a few circles around him, lol.

My 2002 Miata I just recently bought. I'm still figuring out what I am to do with my S13. If I am able to pull full time at work, I can keep both. If not, I might have to sell. Only bright side to that is I'll have extra cash to go into the Miata.

I bought a flower bubble shift knob :sly: That'll butch it up, right?

My plans for the Miata is to keep it a daily driver/cruiser. Must haves are to lower it, and get some decent wheels on it. If I am able to keep my S13, I plan to buy a rebuilt motor, and turbo it. Fix her up in the next few years and go from there.

Looks like a very clean Miata and the interior is freaking beautiful! Here's to many top down adventures

Selling the S13 is a choice that only you can make. Assuming you can get full time work, you just have to ask yourself "will I regret selling it?" If not than return it to as stock as possible, sell off your parts and put it on the market as an unmolested S13. You'd have plenty of money to lower the Miata, get some awesome wheels and have a decent bit of change. If you think you will regret selling it, than keep it and continue making it better 👍

We don't even have smog in Minnesota, actually.

I think you should be fine... I always see cars in California with SRs and RBs, and California is strict.
(Sorry to revive but...) We have crooked Smog techs. Some people found loop holes and exploited it.

Thanks
I want to buy new seats. These ones are a little bit worn out in places you can't see in the photos. I think they are the old NA model seats as well. I think the previous owner must have been tall, because they sit a bit lower than the ones in my brothers car. Also, they took out the sun visors :ouch:. I guess that helps tall people see better in these cars.

I see some people have fitted Lotus Elise seats. I like that idea, also thinking of some others as well.

I'm going to be buying some coilovers next week. I'm going to ride on my XXRs temporarily until I can save for some new wheels. I am thinking of getting some Enkei Compe wheels. A little old school watanabe style that come in 16s, which will look much nicer than 15s on this car IMO.

Haven't updated this in a long time, hardly post here anymore either. But anyways I bought my first DSLR and was trying it out taking photos of my cars. Working on the exposure :)
I've lowered my Miata and got some new wheels since last time I posted. I also put a lip on as well as a new tow hook. The double sided tape sucks though :/ I might try and take the tape off, and maybe rivet it on.

Also put on a new exhaust.

As for Eleanor, she just passed her emissions test today. Nothing much changed on her. I have a big fatty east bear replica lip I'll be putting on soon when I find some sideskirts to go with it.

That MX5 is HOT, the lip makes a surprising difference and that poke is sexy.

Not too hot on the exhaust myself, looks disproportionate but hey if it suits your taste :)

Please paint that stupid lip. Everyone always keeps their East Bear rep lips black and that looks AWFUL.

Paint yours and it will look good.

I also agree with the black lip. Matches the black vinyl top, the black wipers, and the black wheels. Plus it will be a lot easier to maintain in case you bump a curb or get some road rash.

Anna+Reece was referring to the east bear lip I don't have on yet on my 240. And I will be painting it once I got some extra cash. The paint is expensive lol.

As for the miata lip, it's staying black. I even painted it with even more black, so it doesn't get all faded like some I've seen.

Here's the East Bear lip unpainted, its a tight fit. Gonna try and keep it stretched so when I do paint it, the paint won't crack.

Eleanor was mad I didn't take her out to the mountain this afternoon

Instead, I took Peggy Sue. Playing around trying to get used to my Lumix, and took a few nice shots.

Ide say I'm 50/50 with that lol. Some people do keep it black and I personally don't like it but I think some people pull it off incredibly well.

But yeaaa I can't wait to see yours painted.

Thinking of buying an LSD for the miata. This one tyre fire makes me sad

Not sure if I want to spend the money though, since I don't plan on keeping the car. Maybe having open dif will keep me out of trouble, and keep me from wrecking.

Nice cars. 👍

How much is a LSD for the Miata? Can you get one off another wrecked car? How much would that increase resale value? I assume installing it is fairly easy and you would do it yourself?

Do it.
