Well you could try buy a new ship from the traders that visit the station :)

The outpost on the planet can call your ship to a landing spot, maybe you can do that from the station?
I have 10,000 - 30,000 units. So it will be tough trying to trade and such while being in one station. With limited items.

The landing pads in the station do not have a computer to call my ship. I don't have a bypass chip anyways... but that I could probably make. Not sure if it would even help though because there isn't a computer on the landing pads. I think I am totally 🤬.

On arriving on my fifth planet last night I thought it would be a cool idea to land on one of the huge stone platforms decorating the landscape. I then jumped off to look around. After a few minutes I realised what I had done in that the jetpack couldn't get me back up and the stone was indestructible.

I then spent almost 2h searching for an outpost where you can recall your ship. There was acid rain which I had to find caves to shelter from or huge element deposits I could bore a hole in to shelter. A 31min swim was agonising but eventually I found the outpost.

It really felt like a survival battle but I wouldn't recommend it!

Even if you destroyed the rock, your ship would still float in the air,as it happened to me as i landed on a huge 'ball' plant by accident hehe.

My first planet was actually a great one, spent hours on it,just had a great looking landscape and plenty to explore. But now ive finally travelled to my 2nd system - first planet is a very hot one, with a shiny red surface all over. Finally got the anti-matter formula!

So how many inventory slots are you guys making do with in your Exosuits?

I've just acquired my 25th slot and it still doesn't feel like it's enough. They're also getting pretty costly, not that it isn't worth it but I'm poor right now.

I can only dream of 25 at the moment. Still stuck with, something like, 12! I've got to do something about that...

If you pause the game and go to options it gives the option to load a previous save file that might work.

Well I've just had my first full crash. Had to do a hard reset of the PS4. I wasn't even doing anything fancy either.

How do you get those expansion slots?

How do you get those expansion slots?

You buy them at drop pods, I have 20 so far, they seem to go up 10,000 units every time. Luckily I'm on a fairly harsh but mineral rich planet, so I buy one every time I see one. Got 2,000,000 units now ..... getting really addicted to gold mining

I am around 21 I think. (Since they go up 10,000 units per upgrade)

@Yellowbeard I did some math and you would need 6.3 million units to pay for all the upgrades. (That is the first upgrade at 10K to the final upgrade at 350K units.)

@kolio They say if you are stuck try loading up one of the previous saves. (Unless both saves are the same time then you are probably stuck then)

Workarounds
Here are some workarounds for some known issues:
  • If you believe you are stuck, or can’t reach your ship, be aware you can jetpack forever whilst pushing against any surface
  • If you have made a mistake – you can revert to any of your two previous saves in the Options Menu
  • If you have left your ship somewhere inaccessible, you will be able to summon it from landing pads or beacons found at most buildings or points of interest (marked by question marks)
It has been reported that some players have not received a pre-order bonus. In most cases so far, the player has either not redeemed their bonus correctly from the PS store or from the Options Menu. Also sometimes players have received the bonus, but the name displayed in-game was incorrect. The Alpha Vector ship is named Domanish S84 in-game, and (in the US) the Rezosu AZ65 is named Final Shadow XIV in game.

It has been reported that using the pre-order bonus ship will leave some players stranded, if they purchase or transfer to a new ship that does not have a hyperdrive (if done very early in game). In most cases the player is actually able to continue (107 of the 135 reports emailed so far). The game already detects the player needs a hyperdrive and directs them to a nearby NPC who will give the player the hyperdrive they need. Some other players were able to resolve this issue by restarting their console.

We’re tracking a number of issues, bugs and crashes that players are reporting, and working to resolve as soon as possible.

The number of people players, and length of average play session, has been far more than our small team could have anticipated. That said, we’re working quickly to adapt.

We sincerely apologise to anyone affected in the meantime.

Here are some things to be aware of:

  • We’ve brought a new QA team on board today (larger than the entire Hello Games team!). This will complement the existing Sony QA team.
  • We are working on fixes for the most critical issues, which will be in a patch in the near future.
  • We will be moving to a ticketed support system next week, and have hired someone to manage this starting Monday.
  • Some information will be posted in the Sony forums here http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/Games-Services/bd-p/22190
  • Or contact Hello Games here http://www.no-mans-sky.com/support/

For those this does not help, please know we are working to resolve these issues as soon as possible in a patch. This will include crash fixes also.

Thank you,

Sean

Didn't know you can't out run sentinals in space. I got killed by them trying to get away and can't even shoot them since they are faster and more movable than me. :/

Edit: Still trying to find easy money in some ways. Since I keep thinking I am saving up for a new ship. Then I find a drop pod and take that instead. 600K units down to I think 270K ish because of them.
Also my storage is now 25 or 26 with the last one I just bought at 120K units.

I got killed by a darn space pirate earlier. I haven't upgraded any combat capabilities and I probably spent too much time trying to flee instead of fighting. Luckily when I respawned I had my ship with me, and my grave was just outside the space station so I got all my stuff back.
Did you know you can sell Bypass Chips at roughly $3k profit? If you have the resources you could just sit there crafting them at a trade terminal and make a pretty penny.

Every time I get close to getting a new ship I find a drop pod. Getting annoyed at that because I keep buying new slots for my pack instead of trying to get a new ship.

Edit: For a max inventory in suit (48) you will need 6,300,000 units.
That's a lot of selling and buying and everything.

So the max has been confirmed at 48? What's the max a multitool can have? I found one with 8 slots fairly early on and haven't found any better since. I'm guessing the max is 10.

Confirmed 48 on Suit.
24 slots on Multi Tool
Unconfirmed of 50 for ship (Most so far reading was 33)

Ok so done my first set of warps to the next system on. Then back again after finally getting the all important Warp Fuel guide.

Then headed back to my first system and then to the first Atlas. I'm enjoying the little guidance it gives but I also love the no pressure too.

Then after all this I've hit my second hard crash for the day. I've also noticed one moon it said no life, yet I could still hear animals about. Weird!!

IT'S DOWNLOADING!!

*edit*
Played for about 20mins. I have to go to the pub now. Lush starting planet. Lots of flora and fauna. Supposedly passive sentinels but as soon as I started mining they attacked me! I'll carry on later but may be too drunk to know what's going on!

So it's between unplayable due to crap FPS or the game just crashes when attempting to launch. Looks like this is happening to many PC players which is a little disappointing.

Biggest issue reported so far is players without the Visual C++ Redist 2010. First PC patch released already! Update and restart if needed

Number two issue so far is players who have out of date GFX drivers, or none installed. Please install latest drivers from AMD and nVidia.

Number three please make sure your GFX card is above the min spec. OpenGL 4.5 is required to play No Man's Sky

I've just acquired my 27th inventory slot on a planet that has freezing storms every 45 seconds. :grumpy:

Sean Murray's tech support advice on Twitter is awful. It's like they didn't even bother testing it on a PC prior to release.

Don't trust Metacritic either. They had their hands caught in the cookie jar deleting user reviews from the site to inflate the score of the PC version. This was the score an hour ago:

This was a few minutes later:

10.jpg

Now it is floating around a 2 with 17 positive reviews (likely bought and paid for via a PR firm*), 4 mixed, and 95 negative reviews.

The reason why I say it is likely bought reviews, is because of this review in particular, which came from JIOISIH, which listed his specs as follows:

JIOISIH
My computer's specs are as follows:
CPU: I7 5700HQ
GPU: GTX 970M
RAM: 16GB

I don't know about you, but the last time I checked, a 970M has less power than a 1080, which still produces issues with the game, as TotalBiscuit can attest to:

And in case if anyone was wondering if it was the fact that he was just streaming that was causing the issue...

I just said the hell with it and requested a refund for the game, I want to play it but if they are going to release a shoddy product for $60 then I don't need to have them keep my money. Looks like the PS4 isn't great either.

I was watching Totalbiscuit's stream on Twitch and the performance was dreadful. He couldn't bother continue playing and ended the stream with 24-25 thousand viewers.

Still very divisive about whether or not to get the game now or wait until the price has dropped to around $30 on the PS4. Maybe it'll be worthwhile once when they've sorted out the performance issues - among other things.

Just played for like 2 mins before going back to Olympics and with W10, i7, 980Ti, 32GB I was getting 120fps+

Hmm.. I7 + gtx970 here. I put it to 60fps locked, seemed to stay there happily. Every now and then small lags/microfreezes, but perfectly playable.

Got my refund from Steam and just went ahead and bought it on the PS4, I figured since I have the console I might as well play a game on it once in a while. Plus I'd rather play a PS4 game on a PS4 and not some shoddy port to the PC.
