No SRF Friends Group (link to list in OP)

*List of PSN IDs compiled by ZuluWraith

So I do the seasonals without SRF and ranking wise that puts me always in the thousands. I'm not super fast by any means but I like with this most recent round of seasonals (HEP G37, Rocket, and Evo Rally) I am actually interested in repeating them to improve my time. But, I have no plans on switching that SRF switch to ON. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a NO SRF/NO AIDS (except ABS 1) friends group for the seasonals so we can have some competition without the magical hand of SRF.
Like I said, I'm not super skilled by any means so driver's of all skill levels are welcome.
Go ahead and send a friend request if you would like some non SRF seasonal competition.
you are a great man. thank you very much m8 :D

I am the least consistent person ever. On the FT-1 TT I threw down the time I have in less than an hour the first night, completely plowing through the first corner and embarrassing myself on a few others - but it was pretty good. I threw away some absolutely lightning quick laps after that, but ended up going to sleep soon after. Last night, 2 hours in, I couldn't even come within a second of my best lap. This always happens. Anyone else have any issues with consistency, or just feel off some nights?

Yes, I am just the same most of the time. :indiff: :grumpy:

It sometimes takes me more than 20 or 30 clean laps [plus many many re-starts of flagged laps] when running a fresh session the day after, before I start to even get close to my best time.

I'm sorry to hear you are the same, but glad I'm not alone! It also seems to me that when I end up beating my time, after dozens of tries, I end up beating it by a hundredth or so two or three times directly after. Why couldn't I even set a clean lap 10 minutes before?!

Whenever I get frustrated at the obnoxious amount of time wasted, I just have to convince myself it's just training...it's just training...IT'S JUST TRAINING!! 🤬

Training is good, figured that out on first couple (still laggard) runs @ Fujii on T1.

My brake foot is way more calibrated now after dialing in the 1st chicane with FXX. :)
But I hate that I missed FXX gold, tried ABS 1 last night,, can't use it anymore.

JogoAsobi I am infinitely impressed with your braking skills! I prefer zero aids, but I just personally don't like it without in GT6. In Forza, I adore not using the ABS, and am in fact much faster without, but GT is a different story.

Either way, I'm a big dummy, and just now realized that I have Fanatec adjustable brake pedal, so the next time I have a solid chunk of time off, I'm going to play with the settings and see if I can make the transition.

Thanks, but there are other 0 ABS guys in our list that I still can't catch. :embarrassed:

I had Fanatec CSP V.1 & V.2 pedals before, that dial is your friend...:)
....CSRE pedals have it too.

If any of you guys have a T500, get the BasherBrakeMod.

Props to the rest of you as well! I know how much control it takes, and you all have my respect.

I stopped using it in the past because I am so prone to over reacting to bad sessions, that I adjust it when I shouldn't - when I really just need to fix my technique. We will see what I can do soon, probably won't have a ton of free time until May, though.

You nearly caught me mate, I had to whip my ass to shave off few more tenths to stay ahead!:scared:

@SileightyCyrus Are you a left foot braker? It's a mandatory if you want to give yourself an edge. Wearing headphones or earphones is useful as you'd rely onto sound the tyres make to know when to ease off brakes to prevent lockups.

Tracks give variations on grip where you can brake harder or places you have to just feather it. Like on Subaru event, going down that first big hill on braking point elevation changes upward and all tyres get loads of grip you brake as hard you possibly can, combined with max engine braking. Again on second downhill, you go fast left over the crest in 5th, you have that little platform towards the end you get sudden grip against pavement that's where you brake hard. Over that hill, till I get to slow right hander, I'm all passenger and there is nothing I can do to prevent lockups I simply skid off that ramp all the way. I can't afford to lower my brake strength any lower than 6/6 because of those two aforementioned heavy braking points. ABS1 does a magical work on downhill low grip pavement, and that's where I'd lose half a second. If you only use ABS1 you're oblivious to all those things. It's my belief that a full time ABS0 driver when he chooses to use ABS1 he'd always be faster, and that's why I'm training with ABS0 at moment.

I need more left foot brake training myself, its hard, cuz I use the manual clutch an awful lot too.
I've noticed a lot of the Aussie V8 Supercar drivers do both left and right foot braking @ Bathurst!

Funny you mention the earphones... :dopey:
....that has really helped since I recently went to in-ear monitors to keep the peace at night.
Now I just need an arse tickler to compensate for lack of sub-woofer bass. :sly:

Greg Murphy was a full time left foot braker and he held a lap record for nearly 10 years. Incidentally, I watched and analysed Mark Skaife's double-clutch heel&toe to practise that complex footwork, about 15 years ago? I mastered it in 2 weeks and I was proud of that then.lol

I'm the same!

One thing I do is not load up my best lap ghost straight away. I build up a new session ghost. It is far to frustrating for me to see my best lap ghost always ahead. I build up slowly, you guys and my new ghost are also turned off for a while. After a few laps, turn the lines on. In previous TT's I've beaten PB's like this. Helps me stay relaxed.
After maybe about an hour I load up my PB ghost, I'm ready for it by then lol!

Yessir I am! I watched some ridiculously fast guy's videos years back during the first GT Academy, and adding the left foot braking shaved SO much off my time. I think my issue is just the feel, and I think Forza spoiled me. I was able to tell immediately when I would lose grip in Forza, but not as much in GT. Either way, I do appreciate the tips! One of my favorite things is tackling elevation changes, something that I absolutely focus on a lot less with ABS1, so I am looking forward to eventually switching to ABS0.

I do this most of the time too! Pretty much the same idea and for the same reasons, but some days, I just can't do anything! Last night I beat my time on the FT1 by .2, but there is just SO much left. It's ultra frustrating, though, because it's not that I just have a feeling I can go faster, but I have recently gone MUCH faster in a number of sections and just can't seem to find the speed anymore. I feel like every F1 pilot explaining why they lost to their new younger teammate, haha.

AND (sorry for the novel of a post) I have a surprise for you guys! I finally golded the ridiculous Eiger short track TT...with ZERO AIDS! I think I can go a bit faster on a few corners, but I ran out of time/patience. Either way, I'm proud of myself for getting that elusive gold without ABS. This car may end up being my tool for transition - I found that my instincts didn't let me down with this one, and think I will start testing out lower and lower grip cars. Maybe I'll finally be able to get back to drifting form this way...

@Xtriko 's reply is available on 10th time on LB using my tune!!
Update about that info... :D You rock bro!!!! But I don't think I can get the top3... Too much for me lol
