Jealous, been looking into getting a wheel for a while but I think I need to improve my racing before investing in one :)

STEG-13
didn't know you used a wheel kk, worth it ye reckon ?

100%...I think everyone should get it...Theres a whole new level of enjoyment...I raced in a 20 lapper around Grand Valley Speedway and it went down to the last corner of the race...I could feel my heart racing and my breathing intensified after the race...It was even better when I won the Historic race in A spec using the countach...Best two races in my gaming career...

Steg: Okay, no extreme downpour on Nürburgring then hehe. I'm not a fan or night racing either.

About F1 2011, I'm not sure I will get it, I played F1 2010 quite a lot, it was good, easily the best F1 racing game since the old Grand Prix 4 and F1 World Grand Prix on N64, but too arcadey in my taste. (In addition I'm low on cash at the moment). I stopped buying the Colin McRae games around the time when they added "Dirt" to the name ;) (even though dirt 3 seems a little better).

Talking about steering wheels I'm using an old DFP... but I'm used to it and it works great. And welcome back R35. And yes, I certainly agree with kk20, a steering wheel is definitely worth it! It adds a whole new level to the racing. It's gets a lot more fun and it's possible to drive a lot more precise too.

For example it is almost(possibly fully) impossible to gold all vetted challenges on a ds3, im really good at it yet 20s off gold

thanks kk & toffe, might be time for me to have another serious look into them :)

R35, I have not had a serious go at the Vettel challenge as I also heard it's near enough impossible on the old Dual shock 👎

Oh well maybe next month for a wheel,

F1 2011 & Fifa 12 this month :)

Hopefully F1 isn't too arcade style, that would be a major let down with the graphics and the race weekends looking so good, DRS, Kers and a safety car this year I think :D

R35 SKYLIN3
I bronzed them :P but no one I have seen on gtp or anything has fully golded on ds3

I havent tried with my wheel as im kinda scared...I've seen alot of threads about the X1 killing the recalibration etc...try searching it...

Steg- Fifa 12, MW3

Im so  about what to get...

 you need to chill out kk, scared to use a wheel for Dirt,
scared to use a wheel for Vettel challenge,
next you will be saying the Nurburgring is also too scary to use a wheel on

I dont wanna hurt my baby

The ring is absolute killer...

lol I get you mate, hard enough forking out for more than one PS3 let alone a wheel at basically the same price :)

Hey guys many thanks for the comments on the video. Got a bit of in an isue with the audio conversion though, it seems to be causing a slight stutter/jerkyness in the video.
Thought it was YouTube at first but checked the original before conversion and that plays smooth, will be fixed for the next one.

R35 welcome back, I did a grid intro but it looked carp TBH as the starting grid is so cramped at monaco it was hard to make the graphics fade in and out above a car before the next car came into view.

Played F1 2010 loads when it came out, multiplayer was good but played career mostly, probably pick up F1 2011. I used a G27 at the time, now have a T500 RS, both great wheels and makes a massive difference to gameplay.

Grid walk would of taken about 3.5 seconds with the less than average turn out

You think the thrustmaster is much better or would you need to be a pro like you to notice the diffrence :)

I don't want to fork out and find out I got the wrong wheel

I shelled out over £120 for one when I had a 360 and to this day it is the worst purchase I have ever made, so bad infact that when I moved flat I just left it there, unlucky to the guy that finds it if he ever uses it

TM is better by far. The pedals are close in performance but the wheel is definitely a step up. Go for it Steg you would benefit from it greatly, I used a dualshock for ages, I was worse with the wheel for a while but once you get used to it you will be faster :)

Ta jonzster, appreciate the advice.

Had another thought about season 2, to be honest I think there are too many GT500/GT300 series and from what I have heard they seem to be dominated by one car most of the time. If they are not that is because the cars have all got different power limits ect.

Trying to level the cars out would mean that season 2 would be another learning curve for me and would for sure not be perfect.

For that reason I have been toying with the idea of using the TVR Tuscan RM and keeping the basic template we have used for season 1.This means, same as season 1,
it will be driving & tuning ability that will win, not the faster car.

1vs1 battles to decide numbers, team colours, number 3 for a teams reserve driver ect. are all ideas that I think worked pretty well first time round and would like to use them again.

The car is harder to handle than the NSX but if anything the NSX seemed a bit too easy & I think everyone would be up for a bit more of a challenge.

Have not thought about specs but we would most likely run with fully upgraded cars.

Also seriously considering bumping damage up to heavy to add more realism.

So guys the question is, do you want to compete in the first ever (as far as I know) TVR-RM World Championship..

Or should I get back to the drawing board

Like the idea Steg, I tried the RM Tuscan out a while a go in one of the seasonals, thought it was great fun around the ring and a bit more of a challenge, definitely.
RM Tuscan is good car fully modded and as you say we can change the car body/rim colour. I'm up for it and yeah stick the damage on high.
