Will these event be repeated as a Le Mans event later this year??
We are a Danish GT5 facebook (GT5 Danmark) group that would be VERY keen on particepating in such a event....

garethevens78 you are absolutely right actually!!

For those who haven't picked up on this (because we haven't gone over everything in detail) this event is planned to be the start of something much bigger.
Everything we've already done so far already has a new game plan for next year. Among other things that will be better next year; there is Team Selection/Registration that will be tighter and more strict, there will be an Entry Fee, more Volounteers to help out, hopefully more Sponsors, maybe more Rooms, and hopefully Classes defined upon the real rules and regs. It's all in the würks ;)

Please continue making suggestions in this forum after having read the rest of it so we can make it better every year! Thanks garethevens78.

A Qaulify round as in real life could be nice, so if a team cant perform in a test Q they are not qaulifyd to race!!
This would also root out the dirty drivers that surely will be some of in any startline based on who gets there first whit a mail..

This said, great work Kurt. Keep it up 👍

I didn't receive a password for team site access Kurt.

Are you gonna do a le mans one as well I think I just missed it by like 2 hours and would low to compete in this event

Probably not, as we want to concentrate on making one good event before expanding. Hope you understand.

Looks like the rain is going to be a HUGE factor for some teams based on these early dry run results. If you are eating the wall now, just wait till it's 16 hours into this thing and the track is dark and/or slick. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Yep!! I thinks some of the team are just realising how challenging it will be!

Not me, I realised very early on that it was going to be nasty!

I'm lucky in that a few of the CRAP drivers help out by running race condition races with me, when I started training it was nasty but with their help it's a lot better now but still a gargantuan undertaking!!!

To all participant:

We need team info (member description, logo and car choice) for January 15th. If we do not receive those information, sanctions will be taken and possible disqualification will be considered. However we might extend it to January 22nd if required by certain team.

There are still 4 teams that haven't confirmed their participation to the January 14th practice race.

Team Australia
BMW Carolina Motorsports
Mint Racing
Flying Slugs

Hi Kurt!

Have the "KR_Team" any chance to take part in this wondefull race or not?
Because we practice a lot and completelly set up our car to race.
We will finised practice if every registered teams are ok.
But if We have a little hope we will continue the practice.

Thanks

We will publish the final team list to participate in the event, last week of January. Keep hope, we never know...(I know it's torture).

Olivier

If any of those teams mentioned above do not meet the deadline for the info, will they be replaced by a reserve team? I really want to participate :D. I guarantee you we are clean, patient drivers. We are serious about this. Let me know 👍

Race start is glitched, saw people lagging all over the track in qualifying, then I got the black screen of death (still have it as a type). I'm thinking the servers just can't handle the volume of cars (as seen all over the Online Racing Series section) and the distance between teams all over the world.

There also wasn't enough time, 20 minutes, for every one to get their qualifying laps in. I only got pole because I started as soon as time was called.

This needs some careful re-considering.

Black screen for me too mate. Extremely disappointed especially knowing I was likely 2nd on grid with a 9:05 :(

But what is the solution?

You want to race with me instead? same conditions?

Yeah I messed up my quali lap and still pulled a 8:55 lol. Anyway, I'm gonna watch the race. I'll be glad to race you, or anyone else in the event for that matter, in a private event soon, possibly tomorrow or sometime during the week.

Well the game locked up, so I had to restart GT5, got back into the room and every one's racing. Seems I was the only one hit by the glitched start. Watching the race now though, I see everyone's lagging and cars skipping across the track like crazy. Hopefully it's not bad on their client. Trust me when I say my connection's solid. I have nothing streaming, no torrents, no one else on the network, regular download and upload speed... I don't get it. Anyway, the race is on now so there's nothing I can do about joining back so I'm forced to sit it out and watch from the benches. I'll provide a report of the practice race though, there's some interesting tire strategy being implemented by all the teams and Carolina Motorsports BMW has pulled a strong lead already and is taking off into the German sunset.

The possibility of this "black screen of death" glitch I ( and Heathen) encountered should not be present what so ever. What we used to do in WSGTC was run a 1 lap practice race so we could see if any problems were present, if there was, we would start a new room until it was resolved, effectively hopping to different GT5 servers till we got a stable one. This is extremely vital for the event to have a solid room so we need to start planning out procedures and contingencies well.

That would be good man, I sent FR but ur list is full, you able to delete your least favorite and let me add you?

I'm with you on room hopping, whatever needs to be done to fix it should be done.

Huge props to Wurks for all their effort & I don't lay any blame on them for this but it does need fixing. I've planned & trained & looked forward to this practice since it was announced & to get the black screen after all that & knowing I would have been competitive is just demoralizing :(

I see there's only 7 on track now too? got live stream going on laptop, it's a good feed too!

Here's some footage of today's practice race (about an hour to go) so you can see the lag I was seeing:

ANd let's not cop-out and blame people's internet connections. I have the most expensive fiber optic line service you can be in my city, I re-routed all bandwidth with my high-end premium modem's management software and dedicated it to the PS3, I was not streaming a single thing and no other computers in my house were on. I put everything as perfectly as possible in the lead up to this practice race, IT IS NOT MY CONNECTION.

We need to convene :)

Agreed.

Me too - cable broadband 20mb download min 1mb upload. I was running the stream on laptop too as per race requirements but it was fine for qual, can anyone confirm if I was lagging in qual?

+1 👍

For as nice and realistic as visible damage is, I believe it puts more of a strain on the network too. When there is a full room and every car has a different level of damage, it seems like it might make a difference in the lag and race quality in general.

Here's my speed results too - this is whilst ps3 is running, my son online on 2nd ps3 (he just got on, had it off for race) and the life feed site too, there's no chance it's my my connection either.

Everything worked great for Team Enduro, didn't crash like a lot of the other racers were on the first corner. No lag either for us as we raced, but we could see the other racers lag and jump from one side to another lol... but it was good =)

i recommend everyone to connect your router directly to the ps3..we bought a $15 50ft ethernet cable to fix our connection issues otherwise we wouldn't have been able to even play the game

I have a 3 ft. cable connecting from my router to my PS3 on the priority slot of my ASUS set up.

WiFi is never a viable option at all if you want a smooth online experience.

Hi all , I'm really fond of endura races and hope will be welcome here.
(have fairly good connection , just in case :) )
