realfeel would be nice...:P

I've played the game with gamepad is and it's nice, the cars quite easy to control with it....came as far to unlocking the F50...

but I really want to play with my beloved g25 :P

Hi guys.

I've now played the game for two weeks, and I am enjoying it immensely. Unlocking new cars is a blast, and the learning curve seems to be on the steep side after the one and two star difficulty levels (Trophy mode), which is good. However it sounds even better that we get to adjust the difficulty in the near future. I am using DFP and find the resistance tight and just spot on. No need to weaken it in my opinion. However, since there are quite a few complaints about the resistance being too heavy, apparently the G25 has stronger FFB motors. Or that I pack more grunt ;).

Personally the only problems so far are the sound mixing in the bonnet view (can hear everything other than my own revs), the online being broken (this is major of course), the cockpit view being a little too far back for my taste to create a sufficient immersion, and that the time trial results seem to be lost when browsing through different tracks in the time trial menu. Is that suppose to happen? My previous results are only exposed after I've driven the time trial and the latest time is situated in the chart. (And of course, the car model number being the same for all the results is an obvious bug.)

Other than that, I am extremely happy with the game. It really is the new F355 Challenge for me, and I don't mind if the graphics were not in the same league as those of the GT5P. Otherwise, I would go as far saying that FC is a better, more involving experience than the GT5P. And this conclusion is solely based on the rewarding driving physics. Hopefully the upcoming patch is going to rectify the specific issues already covered in this forum. And remember to keep up the good work in the upcoming DLC.

Cheers.

One question:

What do you get changing between Standart and Dynamic in CAMERA option, in OPTIONS -> GAME menu?.

if u change the camera in dynamic: when braking the camera moves slightly forwards and when you're accelerating the camera moves slightly backwards

Ok. But I see this don´t happens with the cockpit view. In the cockpit view the camera moves with the two options.

Have to say I agree with you completely.

GT5P just seems a bit clinical compared to FC... all the handling traits are present and correct in GT5P, but they just seem a little over-exagerated. Plus the tracks feel completely smooth - no bumps as in real life.

Finished the European event in the 430 Challenge last night and switched to the 430 GT2 trophy event straight afterwards... although both cars are 430's they feel quite different to drive... compared to the Challenge car the GT2 has a lower rev limit and much more grip (due to spitter/rear wing I guess).

Can't wait to get in to some of the classics like the 250 Testa Rossa and 250 GTO.

In general, mid engined cars are difficult to drift due to the weight distribution... they have a tendancy to spin. The best cars for drifting are almost exclusively front engined.

If you watch sports car racing from the 50's/60's (the Moss/Fangio era) you see a lot of 4 wheel drifting (even in the F1 cars of that period). Not with huge angles of attack, but just enough rear end slip to require little or no steering lock... the 250 GTO was a classic exapmle of a car that needed to be driven like this to get the best times out of it.

Agreed. And I think I found the "drifter" in this game, the 365 GTB4/Comp (Daytona). If any of you guys want a litle drifting fun, just try it with all aids off. :sly:

I received mail about the camera thing i wrote them about....

Hi,

Thanks for your email.

The suggestions about an additional camera will be added to our wish list and will be considered on future updates. The current patch has rebalanced and improved sound.

An announcement has been made about DLC and hopefully this will have answered all your questions.

Regards,

Hopefully they will go through on the camera thing like you have it on F355 challenge...

For those who still want to contact the developers about the camera view, here you can.

Interesting to hear your comments. Looking forward to getting the game here in North America.

I like the idea that the FFB simulates the bumps in the track - this is something that is completely missing in GT5P. When I go back to F1:CE I particularly enjoy the way the FFB reacts to the bumps & the (G25) wheel "hops around" in your hands.

It was the "bumpinesss" of the Nurburgring in GT4 that made it worth driving (again & again!), so I certainly hope it makes a reappearance in GT5 (or earlier upate 👍).

you should play the north american f430 challenge.
some tracks are insane to race specially in rain. (infineon & virginia raceway)
be sure to turn all aids off:sly:

there is a jump / bump place in the main straight at virginia raceway.
yesterday I lost my control there. it was fanstastic but cost me first place.
This game is really good at driving physics

Yeah some of the lumps and bumps on the track can catch you out especialy getting on the power, have a love hate relationship with the curbs at paul ricard at the moment.....and enough said about the rain LOL seem to be hitting my limit with the AI at the moment so it's back to lap bashing to pull the wins out, loving the game still, just give me the patch as online is where this game is going to become a classic if they pull it off!

Started the 430 Challenge North American series last night... a couple of easy wins in the first weekend then I landed at Infineon... I thought I knew the track from GT4, but it looks and feels totally different in FC... I really struggled to get the first corner right (the long left hander up the hill). But the track after that (Virginia?) is just crazy - blind brows and unsighted apex's everywhere... it was madness in the 2nd race in the rain.

One minor complaint I have about FC is that there's no free run/practice session to learn the tracks - just a few laps in qualifying is all you get to try and learn the track.

You cant do it until you unlock the track. You need to finish in the top 3 at any track to unlock it. The easyest way is to start a trophy race, wich features the track you want to unlock, and keep doing the trophy over, and over until you finish in the top 3.

Well time is sliping for the patch to hit this week.....Getting a bit frustrated by the lack of news now.

Same here, even if I don't plan to go online with this game before I finish all Trophies (should be done this weekend).

Will the patch be downloadable in-game (like the upgrades in GT5P) or through PSN Store?

I ask this because in GT5P we have the game in the HDD (so any upgrade is loaded there, changing the appropriate game files I presume), but I think FC plays directly from the Blu Ray disc, and only our save data is stored in the HDD.

Yeah they said the patch was done and it was with sony for final testing so should be with us this week.....Sony I'm looking at you!
Just got eden PSN title (try the demo you'll get hooked and theres trophys)
We have the GT5P update tommorow
There was the 2.42 firmware update yesterday
and Life with Playstation has been promised for this week as well (don't count on this)
You'd think sony where busy or something this week........I want my FC patch guys LOL

I'm certain that THAT specific photo was sent to them at least 100 times by various people, myself included :)

I didn't sent the team a photo, i just explained the camera view to them and i was sure they would know what i meant.
I do know about 4-5 different photo's on F355 challenge but i guess this is one of the better examples ( it has nice weather effects which i didn't come across the new ferrari challenge except for the rain, shame)
It's good to know many people sent them e-mails about the camera view.

PS: did anybody found any breathtaking sunsets or weather effect like they are present in F355 Challenge in Ferrari Challenge:Trofeo Pirelli??
I didn't but i haven't finished the game yet.

New favorite car... 250LM... total drifting heaven on infineon... plus it won me a 250TR & 250GTO :)

No, Magic Weather does not exist in this game.

Among other things, I've send them this photo too with the question about inclusion of such feature:

Answer is below:
"Unfortunately it’s not practical to add the weather system you describe."

So, it's not practical. Hehe :D

Oh, and yes - the missing of online-patch is pretty mch annoying right now. It was supposed to arrive "later this week". I guess I will really have to make a serious comeback to Real Bash Simulator for this weekend, even I didn't want to do so.

I think you can, based on my experience in Trophies. In these, if you do a race and choose to exit before the next, when you go back you'll start with race 2, with all the points (and grid position) you got in the previous race.
