ok
Interesting vids, thanks for posting. Not going to bother trying to copy as I've submitted my time already - the time I've submitted is what I'm reasonably capable of and is therefore representative of my race pace, rather than turning it into another time trial with hundreds of attempts. Means the competition in my group will be more realistic!
But anyway, to the vids. I've actually got very close to passing that first Skyline into the right-hand hairpin before but I always brake a little earlier so I don't hit him, as I'm never close enough. Whatever setup you're using is giving you a fantastic run on them though.
I have to point out too, that I'm not using racing line so judging my braking distances is a little more down to intuition. I used to use racing line but since the last physics update I vowed that I'd not use it again. I also do all my driving from cockpit view. And never use traction control. And use sixaxis.
So really, I think my times are okay considering I make things hard for myself
GTP MOOSE.
there about 5 or 6 diffrent views to watch on the replay.
just press select on the pad or wheel and it will bring them up after pressing select each time.
anybody passed a car before that turn 3 on lap one, i managed to make a clean pass just before and in the little kink before the right handed hairpin. Alas maybe like others do not have the time needed to continuously practice...wrong word, i mean look for those three fast, CLEAN laps, getting to pissed of with AI clipping my sides, rear etc. All the best to those that do take part
Just 2 quick questions here, how do you find out the final race time from the replay, and is there a way to pause and fast forward replays?
I have saved the replay so it's just a matter of where it is. I've obviously gone over the replay a few times, and I can't find it anywhere. Can somebody please guide me on where to find it or how I can get it?
I feel pretty much the same way about this. I had enough grief battling the AI while getting the classes complete, with the ridiculous penalty system. And now we have to jump through even smaller hoops for this challenge........... and have some fun with this, what I don't have time for is repeatedly running races in which I drive perfectly well, only to have an AI car barely nudge my rear-bumper by not bothering to brake in time. If the AI was perfect that might be another story, but I just can't spare hours of my life battling for a "clean run" against a flawed AI.
It's old fashion I know but, you could add them(the laps) up yer?
Bear in mind that my settings and driving style are different. 👍
What is your division and controller, please?Lap 2: 1'55.973
Lap 3: 1'54.889
That's how it's done 👍Div 2: SixAxis
L2: 1'53.167
L3: 1'53.145
If nowhere else, go to the XMB and look up your replay. There you'll find the total time. But it should be found in-game too somewhere.Just 2 quick questions here, how do you find out the final race time from the replay, and is there a way to pause and fast forward replays?

Here are two vids showing two different approaches of how I manage to get past the last car. going into the tight right hander on lap 1.
Sphinx has approved the vids as they are footage of lap 1. There are no times showing.
The first shows that if you get a good run out of turn 1, you can easily just drive straight past the last car before getting to the turn.

The second shows that if you don't get such a good run out of turn 1 you can still make it, although you end up neck and neck around the turn. Riskier but still doable.

Hope this inspires people to go for it, as I find that by doing this the whole race turns out easier as I seem to meet the rest at ideal points on the track.

Enjoy the vids.

P.s. There is no contact in these vids and are considered clean. I can post different angles of the replays, if needed for anyone that has a doubt.

Lap #3: 1`53.500
Total: 3`46.579
I refer you to my previous post. I can pretty much make this move every race. 👍
Yes i watched your vids, impressive, i actually meant, completed the overtake by the time they have passed the little kink where the pit lane exits, i think its the metal barrier on the left??

The car is fun to drive around here, but the AI.?. gimme a break. For instance, I can get alongside and occasionally in front of the last car before the sharp right on lap one, only to have it drive straight into the side of me, 10, 15 times in a row. Sure, i can understand the rules, but the fun factor is rapidly diminishing, and if i can't have fun, why would i drive ?
YodaInsane the event is,... facing the dark side you will, may the F... Luck be with you....
If you don't like it, don't do it. Simple. 💡
You don't need to get past the last car so early to get a good time. I spent two hours on my run and don't pass the last car that early. Just because some here do, doesn't mean we all have to in order to get a good time. Look at my lap times on the leaderboard for a 2 x 1 hour sessions.
It appears to me that many are coming here, seeing the top times, struggle to match them or even get close and then slate the combo out of frustration of not being able to compete at the same level. If anyone can't get close to the top drivers after 2 hours then you won't even after 6, 8 or 10 hours.
