Official GTP_Race Event 01 (SpecIII: Closed)

I have 2 ps3 users ,I havn't downloaded to one of them.Ihavn't checked yet but I may be able to improve on spec2 time and submit a time from each user account.Some you may be able to this too, if this within the rules?

Damn, Dutch Customs had the advantage of daylight to get a new tune out. I'm going to bed now, but will have a new tune (if changes are required, there doesn't seem to be a huge difference in the physics).
I'll also submit my disappointing non-perfect line-up race time tomorrow.

Inside GT5P, it's always daylight. And I had to bring out a tune right away, the other one was complete poo with the new physics and PP-level.

I made note of your tune but forgot to carry the notes home at lunch. So, I just made some adjustments off the top of my head like power, weight, and gears. I turned off TCS and ABS and adjusted the steering angle to 35. I left everything else at the default settings. Right off I turned a 1'55.xxxx on lap 2. It wasn't clean and I had some mishaps getting on the throttle too early exiting some infield corners. Lap 3 was a disaster when I applied too much throttle exiting the chicane because I was excited to see 10 AI cars lined up in front of me. I sooo wanted to catch that draft and slingshot to a fast lap.

Coming from someone who never posts the fastest times here, this ought to tell folks that the physics adjustments are going to result in much faster laps for this event. I wouldn't be surprised to see sub 1'45's come out of these changes for the faster drivers here. That's just a speculation though.

i just completed a race, that was clean, and my quickest. Yet after saving my replay, i notice the servers were down, so my ID doesn't show, and i don't see the split times appear, only the lap times. i can only assume that my race is now invalid ?

You're just caught in the process of the server updates for Prologue III mate, so no worries. All it'll take for the Event is that you have a replay at hand to upload if needed 👍

Ok, I can't take this anymore. I had a new lineup that I could get good times with, if the lotus spun on the first lap. But the lotus only spun on the first lap about a third of the time. And in the race it did spin I would get punted by someone else later on. I was getting 1'55.xxx easy but could never get a clean race. I don't want to wait any longer for spec III so I am done.

OK, because of the SPEC III update (so much for private rooms ...) I have to split up the leaderboard. But because of some glitch the board doesn't allow me to make a new week and leave the old week accessible.
As soon as this is solved the board for week 1b will be made available.

Oakey doakey, some small amendments. We now have a high angle of toe-in at the rear and longer gear ratios to account for incredible increases in speed. Yes, it now has 432kw!!!

Hey holden if you have got a mobile phone that can plug into the lead you use to charge the controller on PS3 i'm pretty sure that will work.

I know what you are saying, but there would no competition if we all just did one run as the rules are to tight for that. Imagine having to do one run with no touches or offs. Not many would be able to post a time, nevermind a quick time.

It is also good practice for when I do race online, with having to avoid the AI's.

I'm happy I managed a clean and decent lap after like a million times.

Yeah, I don't think I'm going to get a clean race in unless I just stay behind the AI the whole time, and what's the point in that? I keep getting PITTed by the AI in the infield run.

Its gotten harder to get a clean run after the update. The Ai is simply to slow! Or 700pp is to much is better to say. Feels like 700pp vs 500pp and thats a accident waiting to happen!

Getting a clean lap made me feel good in the end though. But not good like "I just had sex, WOW!" good, but more like "I was laying strapped to the table waiting for the lethal injection when the needle was ready to go in, but at the last moment the president called to give me amnesty, WOW!" good.

I am using your tune, with one minor change. I have raised the final gear slightly to make use of the gears full range.

Fantastic work with the tune, very stable & quick. My fastest time so far is 1:44 something. I can see this car being able to easily hit a 1:43. Thats if the AI's let me.

Clarifying Ruling. Where white and yellow lines are placed along the edge of the track determine the boundry of the track. There are however some areas where this is not the case, therefore, please use common sense to determine the boundary in these areas. However, if common sense fails then ask in the discussion thread. The excuse that you didn't know is not good enough at this level.


On the back straights does this mean you can't overtake the AI by going inside them over the yellow lines?
