So, probably the one you get with your PS2 if you buy a GT4 pack, you have 123 secs headstart, and if you buy it without a new PS2 you'll get 115 secs headstart. I had the 115 secs headstart, and won this one with 0.3 secs. Cost me all afternoon though. But now I know the track well, so that's good. I'll try it some more time, look if I can win by 8 secs, that should be possible.:)

haha, maybe they wanted to be nice to the ones that buyed the GT4/PS2 pack, but screwed it up. :dopey:

Could be... But don't think they meant this... Hehehe... :dopey:

If you have 115 sec. margin, you can always wait for an extra 8 sec. to achieve true challenge.

I did mission 34 this morning. I haven't done the other missions yet but I have all gold licenses. I got a a time of 9:12.5 and won by 3.9 seconds. It seems the PAL version is easier, unless there is a performance difference between PAL and NTSC versions.

Anyway, I'm sure I could easily find an extra 4 seconds, winning by 3.9 sec didn't take me long. I might do that later this afternoon.

Nice writeup man. This is the only mission I have left. I tried last night about 10 times and failed miserably. -32 secs the first time and ended up about 5 seconds behind on my final attempt. Still lots of room for improvement...

Thanks, dori-san! I am looking forward to viewing the video later on and comparing it to my lines and times. I managed to finish behind first place just 1.3 seconds last night, doing about a 9:14, but that was with a huge spin and five second penalty going into the last fast braking zone. It's getting close...

The PAL version does have a slight advantage in that you do not have to wait as long to start as in the NTSC version, meaning you have a few more seconds to catch the leader. I don't know if there is any performance difference, however, unless the car setup is not as bad as in the NTSC version, but a 9:12 is a good time nevertheless.

You spun in the final braking zone? Ouch. I would have smashed my DS2 to smithereens if that had happened to me. Fortunately I passed the lead car on the long straight, just before the left-hand kink, well before the final complex. So I just took it easy (that said, something went tight in the differential and I nearly spun - was this car set up by a monkey or what?).

If I go to time trial to practice mission 34, which driving aids should i have on/off?

Please, this is important, as my times aren't consistent, but my lap times are coming in better with the aids off.

I also spun one time in the final breaking zone. Hit the brakes too late, so I smashed into the wall. Think I otherwise would have won the mission. But I got faith I could do it from that, and so I continued trying, and eventually, I beat that mission. Will do it again, wanna win by 8 secs now. :)

I have found that in that area I have to brake a bit before the gear change indicator comes on, because the car becomes very unsettled otherwise and wants to spin. I became too exicted when I caught the SLK, however, and left it a tad too late. I hit something earlier on and so my penalty was actually counting down while I was still flying across the grass, which meant I only had to wait for about two seconds of the penalty and that was right before the final corner. I don't know whether without the spin I would have won by maybe 0.7 seconds then or if the spin actually allowed me to go through the grass faster and I would have wound up 2 or 3 seconds behind otherwise.

Yes, I did smash my DS2 almost, but that was because I was gripping it so tightly during the lap. I had better than usual runs in some sectors and found a way to take several other corners faster, all on that one lap, so I was so excited about catching the first two cars for once that my heart was in my throat.

The only time I really really got close to smashing my DS2, was actually quite early in the lap. I was really flying, and as I came to the fast (almost flat) left hander, just before the slow corner before you reach the 2nd split, I didn't lift much, went in faster than I ever had before, and entered into a perfect 4 wheel slide at 150+ mph, all 4 wheels squealing. I brought the rear back in in time to brake for the next corner. It was beautiful.

I said to myself, this is the time I'm gonna get it right. Sadly, I spun off about 5 corners later. I was really angry!

Very nice! I have to go through there around 135, accelerating out again near the end. I once almost managed to do 147 mph, but then the drift started, I clipped the grass, and it launched me into the wall on the left.

Well I just completed mission 34, all the missions are down now. They were really hard work but I loved them for it, I've spent about 5 days on them I guess. They are definitely my favourite part of the game so far. Before I even attempted mission 34 though I bought an SLR and went and did the 4hr Nurburgring endurance race all on my own with no B-spec driver with no ASM and S2 tires. It was hard work but my lap times improved so much and I knew the track like the back of my hand after that. Then it was just a matter of adjusting to slight differences in set up with the mission car, still took me 2hrs before I got it perfect though. I'm kinda sad that I finished them now though. Driving missions were definitely a big plus. I completed them with a DS2 btw (can't afford a DFP atm im afraid).

Now back to the licenses 40 gold 40 to go!

   Famine!
I ran this at least 10 times using various strategies until I could consistantly get within 1.5 seconds of the Yellow Car but just could NOT get around him. Even with your excellent 👍 instructions it took me 4 more tries. Just couldn't find the rhythm necessary to get the other guys to come with me. When it finally works it's "GOLDEN" THANX Again...O.G. :D

Old Geezer

big up famine for making this video. i have no idea what i was doing wrong, but following in your footsteps i was able to finally do this mission, first go after watching the movie. thankyou SO MUCH :D

After two solid hours' work, i finally completed the laguna seca 787B license in my attempt to win the toyota7. Spent another hour on infineon and ran a pretty much perfect lap to find myself still 1.4 seconds behind the C1... :grumpy: :grumpy:

How is this one possible???

The corvette one is one of the easier races in that mission set it only took 2 or 3 attempts to get it right. The one that got me was the honda one, i must have tried that about 20 times before finally getting it perfect. Just keep trying on the vette if that's all you've got leftit shouldn't take you long.

I just dont get it. i fill i am a prity good driver in GT4 but i even found M10 really hard to do. how good of a driver do u have to be to complete these missions.

i don't count myself as a good driver lol i can't get many golds on the licences but i found the mission halls great fun and they added a lot more to the game, there are some good challenges and i felt i came out of it a better driver. as for mission ten if i remember that was circuit le sarthe? break late and don't accelerate too hard or the car badly understeers i'l check later though if you want?

Mission 10 is the Renault Avantime at Le Sarthe (chicaned), right?

I didn't have any problems at all with that one. Just draft the 3rd Avantime, follow the braking indicator for the chicane, draft the 2nd Avantime out of the corner, follow the braking indicator for the chicane, draft the 1st Avantime out of the corner, follow the braking indicator for the corner and you're done.

I guess I'll run this again tonight and force daan at knifepoint to video it.

in the 25-29 group, i did the celica one (ridiculously easy) and whatever the other fuji one was. finally got the 787b as i said earlier. Still the long honda one and the corvette one to do. will keep trying, but i can't see how i can reduce my time any further.

First corner with the Corvette one.

Accelerate before you've finished turning in. Before you've hit the crest of the hill. WELL before you even SEE the apex.

If you can pull that corner off you'll slice lumps off your time.

I thought that about the honda one, i just couldn't see how i could make time up. I eventually worked out that i was losing time in the first couple of corners, braking where i didn't need to, or braking too much. Just spend a bit of time analysing each corner and see where you're going a bit sloppy.
