I'm curious to know about those Quiz packs myself. If they were only a couple dollers each I'd very likely get them, but aren't they $5 or $6 a piece? That seems too high to me, especially given the fact that there are already a lot of questions in the standard game and as you say, you also get unlimited numbers of quizzes from the community... although the format for those is very limited.

When you do get around to trying it out, see if you can play online with those questions, or are they limited to offline play only. Thanks!




I was browsing the new official SCEA PlayStation website and came across the PSN Events page. Has anyone ever attended one of these events? Looking at the calender, the Take The Stage event will be in our general area towards the end of January and was wondering if they are worth attending?

The quiz packs are for off-line only (well I've bought two and never come across them on-line yet), but the fully intergrate into the main game. As such they are totally different to the user generated quizzes.

The two I have are Sci-fi Movies and Rock Legends and these add another question catagory to TV & Films and Music respectively, so if you play a lot of games with friends and family I think they are worth it (oh I do also have the Videogames one - that I would not recommend - far to Sony focused).

Thank for the update... what with all the commotion over Home I suspect many forgot about the PSN updates.


BTW: I can't believe they teased us with a picture of the whole Santa costume, but we only get the Santa suit... and we have to wait until next week to get the hat and beard...


While I'm in a complaining mood, I REALLY wish Sony would stick to a standard format in the way they list video content that comes with different resolutions! It used to be that they organized them by highest resolution to lowest, so if you always picked the one on the top of the list you knew you were downloading the highest resolution. Now it's just randomly placed.

Making it even more frustrating is that they show the resolution for a file at the very end of the file name in the store, which if it is long, you have to wait a while for it to finally scroll to the end to see which is the 1080p version.

I'm bitching, only because, not only was this not a case before they made the last major change to the PSN interface, but it's such an easy thing to fix... grrrrrr!

I noticed too. Mildly annoying, but for trailers of most things I am not too concerned about resolution quality.

Thanks for posting that Joey. I was enjoying Christmas cheer.

I now see two games have dropped from the $14.99 price to $9.99.

I am glad to see some price corrections on these as I felt they were too much, especially Jeopardy, which has its biggest competition in Buzz Quiz TV.

Of course, at the same time Lumines is $14.99. I haven't played it but it looks like something I could play on my cell phone, only with HD graphics. Unless there is some crazy fanbase I see thsi dropping son as well.

And I see Savage Moon out in Europe. I would like a review on this from anyone who has bought it. I have been looking forward to this game, but I would like confirmation before I lay out money on it.


But it will be a while anyway. I still need to get the No Doubt track pack for Rock Band, the new Foo Fighters pack, Crash Commando, the MGS themed DLC for LBP, and soon this. Also, if they ever give us GTI Club in the US I'll be wanting that as well.

My wallet is exhausted and I am behind.

Once I recover from Christmas it will all be mine, oh yes, it will be mine.

I have entirely to much time at work since I'm basically in a lull until the new year so I have to do something to keep myself entertained.

Yesterday I bought Syphon Filter from the PSClassic area of the store, I love that game so much when I was a kid so I figured I'd still like it now. The graphics are funky but it's still awesome.

I also got WipeOut HD which more or less made me feel sick playing it, although it might have been a combination between the "OMG FAST!!!11!1!!1!one" and the Baileys I had been drinking throughout the day. I'll have to try it again today in a non-slightly-drunk manner.

I got the LOTR: Conquest demo but still haven't played it yet. I'm considering buying it but I want to see how the game play is first. It sort of reminds me of the Battlefield games which I've enjoyed in the past, and since I'm a closet LOTR geek I can see myself liking the game.

Sony took a Vacation.

This also included fixing glitches in games, like PAIN's Amusement Park having no floor if downloaded the week of Christmas and LittleBigPlanet filling up the allotted game save space and just not saving recent progress without any kind of warning. It happened to me. Fortunately deleting community objects is a workaround for LBP, and PAIN was fixed yesterday.

I just want Dark Mist, seems its just not coming to the U.S. The updates was a little uh, underwhelming, where is the Skate 2 Demo and Qore apparently has the FEAR2 Demo exclusively.

There is a video trailer on the store I believe.

It is a tower defense game, like Pixel Junk Monsters, but with Starship Trooper style monsters. It also has a feature where you can take first-person control of the turrets.

Can anyone explain why the free High Velocity Bowling stuff is now being charged a cost in Europe? Delays are one thing, but free content being charged for is a bit uncalled for.

Magic Ball is not bad. Multiplayer is fun but the biggest and most disappointing thing this age of user created content is the lack of a level editor. This game cries for custom stages. But there are a lot of stages already so i guess its not so bad. but this game could have been better with one. 7/10

On an unrelated subject, I just noticed that for the premium themes listed in the PSN store, they now have an option to do a full screen preview by pressing the square button after selecting Preview. Before, you were just limited to a 1/4 view size.

I'm still not sure why one would buy any of these as there are so many similar ones for free available all over the internet, but I will say, some of those wallpapers in those themes are quite 'titillating'.

If you are not sure what I mean, preview the following:

The Skate 2 demo is very good- come to my official Skate 2 thread for all the latest news and information about the game! Including my first thoughts on the game, by playing the demo, and the score of the first ever review.

I was suprised to see three DLC packs for Shaun White Snowboarding, I have all of them, just one problem though. In the Hard Pack, on the new mountain, the textures are dreadful and they keep on flashing randomly, I don't know why. It hurts my eyes.

Anyone else got this?
