The EU and PSP stores are down as well and the reason is interesting to say the least.

Late this afternoon a member of the EU Playstation forums posted about a rather strange store glitch.

It seems that if you tried adding funds to your account when you had no card details registered it would refuse for the first two attempts, but on the third one would give you £5.

Great doubt was placed on it at first, but a few other people repeated it and it was then confirmed its part of the reasons for the unscheduled maintenance.

that's very interesting, I noticed all the stores (US UK and JPN are the ones I have) were down as well as account management but online gaming and internet browser still worked...

Last night I bought the Nirvana and Offspring packs, two Motley Crue songs (Dr. Feelgood and Same Ol' Situation), Bad to the Bone and Under thr Bridge for Rock Band. I also got Linger in Shadows and all the new content for High Velocity Bowling. The accuracy on the new characters is horrible, but they do have good strength and spin.

Also, even if you don't have PAIN or even like it I highly suggest watching PAIN: The Hoff Trailer because it is made of pure awesome.

Its on the EU store as well....along with LittleBigPlanet DLC! Free too! (well, only the halloween and spacesuit ones, but still....awesome).
I'm a little disappointed with this week's PS1 game, as its a game easily found as a ROM for Genesis/Megadrive or SNES emulators (It's Theme Park). Though I suppose it isn't surprising with Theme Hospital already on there.

Hurm....

I am going to have to quit using PS3Fanboy for these EU updates. I'll have to start using Three Speech instead.


On a buying note: I only purchased some Rock Band DLC this week, but it was a lot. I got last week's Foo Fighters - The Colour and Shape Album and then the Century Media Girls of Metal pack. I love Foo Fighters and then I got the Century Media Girls of Metal pack because I like Lacuna Coil. That and I will always support a band that gets their start by putting music out under a Creative Commons license (you can share it, just don't change it or sell it). I first heard Lacuna Coil a year or so back when they were part of the Podsafe Music group and they were used as the theme song for the Podiobook The Rookie by Scott Sigler. I was happy to see they made it into Rock Band 2 and now even more happy to see they've got some DLC out there.

On that same note I will also purchase any Jonathan Coulton music they offer up. Still Alive was free, and not his usual style, but it worked for Portal. Skullcrusher Mountain is his usual stylings. Nothing like a love song from a mad scientist to his female captive. I would like to see them add I'm Your Moon, It'll be the Future Soon, and Millionaire Girlfriend as well. It would be awesome if they got First of May too, but I am sure it has a few too many F-bombs.


I also got the free Sack-in-the-Box LBP DLC and the MotoGP demo. I passed on the LocoRoco costumes because I haven't played the game before. I'll probably grab the LocoRoco 2 demo off the EU store and check it out. If it draws me in then I may pony up for the costumes.


A little bit back I purchased the Buzz! Quiz TV National Geographic Quiz DLC, but haven't checked it out yet. So, does anyone know if those are worth it or are they fairly pointless with all the user-created quizzes online?

I'm curious to know about those Quiz packs myself. If they were only a couple dollers each I'd very likely get them, but aren't they $5 or $6 a piece? That seems too high to me, especially given the fact that there are already a lot of questions in the standard game and as you say, you also get unlimited numbers of quizzes from the community... although the format for those is very limited.

When you do get around to trying it out, see if you can play online with those questions, or are they limited to offline play only. Thanks!
