I guess alot of those 78 cars on the car list are becoming available as DLC right? or is it somewhere confirmed they will be avalable at launch? I did see "200 stages available at launch" but didnt see that at the cars list.
That's at launch, it's on the car list page of the official site.

Comprises of the 2023 cars of which there are 10, leaving 68 historic cars.

You can probably figure out most of those 68 by looking at the DR2.0 car list. I hope we see more than what has been revealed so far at launch. Just give me the 01 Focus and the Group A Escort Cosworth at launch and I'll be ecstatic. The "Builder" cars will be interesting to experience for sure.

From quickly looking at the official car list and it's empty slots vs the DR2.0 car list, it's likely most of the content will be the same.

I have tried to guess the number of new cars we're getting that weren't in DR2.0 aside from the official 2023 WRC content. I came to 23 new cars, 26 including the builders cars which seem to count as 3 on the list.

Broken down as:
2 new RWD H2 (1 of which is the Hillman Avenger)
4 new 4WD 2000s
1 new NR4
1 new FWD H2
3 new F2 Kit Car
2 new WRC 17-21 (New class)
3 new S2000 (New class)
1 new S1600

So a good handful of new to series cars, if I have interpreted the list correctly vs DR2.0.

Speculation on new cars:
4WD 2000s, I would be hugely surprised if we didn't see the Citroen Xsara, perhaps we'll get an Evo 7 and the Peugeot 307?

F2 Kit Car, Clio Maxi is a good bet as it was in Dirt 5, Xsara F2 perhaps? Was a legend in its own right. Others, unsure.

WRC 17-21, got to be the Citroen C3 WRC and Fiesta WRC.

S2000, Fabia, 207 and Proton Satria?

S1600, maybe the C2 WRC? Or the Swift?

Exciting to speculate either way.

Wouldn't it be great if we got a Talbot Sunbeam Lotus or even the Chevette HSR.
4 new 4WD 2000s
1 new NR4
I dont honestly know what other Group N cars there are that arent Evos or STis.
1 new FWD H2
This one eludes me as well.
3 new F2 Kit Car
2 new WRC 17-21 (New class)
3 new S2000 (New class)

I would say so as well.

The 307 was in Dirt 3 I believe. I hope for the 01 Evo 7, we haven't seen that car in any game since GT3, maybe GT4. The Skoda Octavia and Hyundai Accent could be a couple of those as well.
F2 Kit Car, Clio Maxi is a good bet as it was in Dirt 5, Xsara F2 perhaps? Was a legend in its own right. Others, unsure.
I dont remember how many there actually were of the F2 cars. There were a bunch in the British championship, like the Escort RS2000, but which ones to choose is very hard.

Fiesta WRC is a good shout, but not sure about Citroen. I would bet on either the Toyota or the Hyundai to be honest. I have to imagine that which one doesn't come at launch will be added after release.
S2000, Fabia, 207 and Proton Satria?
For S2000, I would be surprised if it wasn't those 3.
S1600, maybe the C2 WRC? Or the Swift?
The Puma S1600 would be my guess.
Exciting to speculate either way.
Very much so. Should keep us all engaged until release date!

I think the Peugoet 307 WRC was in Dirt 1 not in Dirt 3.

I have both games I played them recently.

F2 Kit Car
Megane Maxi, Xsara, Hyundai Coupe or why not get nostalgic with the Skoda Felicia.:sly:

WRC 2017-2021
Citroën C3, Fiesta

S2000
Abarth Punto, 207, Fabia

S1600
They can use Corsa and Clio from DR2 or use cars that had more importance in the WRC such as the C2, Saxo or Swift.

Yeah, I've gone on the assumption that 3 of the 4 S1600 cars will be the ones from DR2, The Corsa, Clio and Polo. The official car list shows 4 slots though so hopefully something like the Swift or C2 pop up.

I forgot the Polo. In CM Dirt the C2 and Swift were present, hopefully one of them will be there.
The only thing that makes me sad is that there is no new group A cars.
We will continue without any Celica.

But overall very happy with the content (both cars and locations) and the surprising price.

If they don't mention it, then probably is ue4, not 5.
But its using a modified dr2 physics engine i think, with souped up terrain degradation.

There's some contradicting opinions on what version it's running. It's listed somewhere as Unreal Engine 5 but there's no official confirmation from what I can see.

@PJTierney can this be released by someone - I would have thought if it is on UE5 it would be something of a "+" for marketing?

What's the logic for "VR exclusive to PC."? Does it simply mean they don't think it's worth the effort of implementing it for PSVR2?

Or is there likely to be some sort of deal with PC headset manufacturers to keep it exclusive? That would have made sense for a PSVR2 exclusive where Sony could have bunged them some money for the exclusive privilege. Does it make any sense for PC where there's multiple VR manufacturers

I don’t have a definitive answer to give you.

It’s Unreal Engine, and that’s basically all I can say. I’m not a qualified enough technical expert to tell you whether it’s a 4 or 5, what tech it’s using etc.

What I can say however is that the team spent a significant amount of time ensuring that the DiRT Rally 2.0 physics would feel the same as in that game, before then beginning to iterate and make cars handle even better.

Im curious how many of the 18 locations are cut and paste tracks from dirt 2, and of them how many are behind 5x seasonal content paywall.
All 17 launch locations are available Day 1 for everyone. Central Europe Rally is a post-launch addition.

Can’t reveal the routes yet but given there’s a stack of countries that weren’t in the last game you will have plenty of new roads to drive on.

That's great to hear will certainly give it more longevity if its fresh to learn.

Like sim but arcade?

Just kidding. They had me at triple-monitor support.

Really hoping for rallycross to come in as dlc at least, adds alot to the title for me
Or maybe they will make as stand alone game as a extra cash cow
