Two great cars there, the Xsara and McRae R4. Loved using the R4 in Dirt 2.
My preorder is eminent.

So happy to see the McRae R4 make it, was starting to think it was lost to time.

I’ve also decided to preorder the game, thankfully with Steam’s refund policy there really isn’t much risk in doing so.

Hey @PJTierney can you confirm if the impulse triggers will feature, (just like DR1/2), on Xbox ? Trying to decide which platform, Xbox or PC, it really makes the difference for me, adds so much feel.

Exclusively revealed on that livestream.

Here's the share:

I’d almost forgotten the Mini was in Dirt Rally 1. Wonder if that means we’ll get the Fiesta and i20 as well.

Car models look good though, the R4 returning is great news, was sure we’d see that in the McRae expansion but glad it’s here now.

I Watched the first episode. Key messages:

  • there is a livery editor
  • you change body parts, engine location and also interiors in build your car mode
  • 30km stages around 20+ minutes to complete
  • dirt 2.0 physics with more driving aids for new comers, no arcade mode
  • there are extra countries on top of the wrc calendar (i think spain, wales, new zealand, Argentina)

I’m hoping that with the car builder being a thing, the livery editor we get will be a more advanced one than other Codemasters titles. Closer to Forza than F1.

Although if it was along the lines of Grid Legends, that would be a sufficient compromise if we don’t get a full editor.

I like the female co-driver's voice in the trailer. [EDIT: Kirsty Riddick] She sounds very easy to understand without being distracting which is crucial. Both sound pretty good but I might pick her at first.

Fun fact you can still buy the VIP pass for Dirt 3 and enjoy the Mcrae R4.

I was surprised how the VIP pass has not been taken down.

YouTube channel Sim's Racing went over the trailer with a fine tooth comb and produced this analysis video...

... only for Codies to release new information while it was being uploaded leading to this update. Cue much cursing of @PJ and colleagues

If most of the cars of this scheme (+80%) that I prepared, came in the game (basic or DLC), I would be satisfied (many appeared in Dirt Rally, others in Dirt Rally 2, others in past Codemasters games and others in the series WRC (mainly Toyota).

Now it's time to wait.

Would love to see some Toyotas, I’m hopeful. Generations from KT had a Celica and the Corolla so hopefully we’ll see some in this one.

That car list looks pretty epic, the Mitsubishi Galant VR4 is taking my fancy.

I'm guessing you will need a EA account for this game which is a shame but even though that means I'll probably have no access to any of the online events or leaderboards I'll still buy it.

Rally Cross cars cut. If you are going to get EA wrc for rallycross you will be disappointed.

Rally GT is omitted. All I know is that the Porsche 911 GT3 did rally I dont think the BMW, Camaro or the Aston Martin did rally. Dirt 3 also had the BMW Z4 M coupe which also did not do rally.

Datsun did not make it for anybody wondering while as always with new releases you will get cuts so this is expected.

FIA rally cross and WRC are separate licences. Gaining the wrc licence does not mean you get everything.

Don't tell me this game is actually worth buying.
It depends on what you like to be honest.

If you are a rally cross fan or a hillclimb fan expect to be disappointed. Rally fans especially both new and old shall rejoice getting lots of rally stages lots of new and old cars.
