If you must know, I was taught Vietnamese and Chinese as a kid, Was forced to learn Latin by my American grandmother, and I couldn't decide to take Italian or French, so I did both. It's not really a claim about what a car is capable of, but I got a message from one user - nd 4 holden spd - after I'd bad-mouthed Holdens telling me that if I did that in Australia, I'd be "seriously hurt".

I don't actually have the message right now because I deleted it on account it was largely the whinging and whining of a prepubescent Holden fanboy, but if he does reply, I'll be sure to stick it here. It might be a little against forum policy, but it's pretty much the same semantics that came up in the Dear Kazunori thread; they're merely aimed at me.

Now for the meat of this post:

If I walk into a chruch, a mosque or a synagogue and desecrate the bible, koran or torah, then I'm likely to be in line for a thrashing that would probably be well-deserved. But if I go to Mount Panorama during Bathurst and sit with the Ford fans and say that Holden isn't Australian because t's owned by GM, I'm not going to get beaten up.

How do I know this?

Because I've been living in Australian twenty-one years. And my stance on the whole thinghas pretty much been the same during that time. And nobody has ever raised a finger against me for it. So, nd 4 holden pd, I don't know which backwoods part of the country you're living in to believe that people who don't like Holdens get a bit of rough justice. In fact, I'd say it goes against all the Australian "values" you claim to uphold.

I found this post regarding me people, and it should be known that it was so much more than that. do you race? is a malicious man out to try and make others look like idiots. He made personal attacks at me, that was why I got riled up. His claim I made a ludicrous claim is a ludicrous claim in itself.

Suit yourself, but the bottom-line is I have roughly $10,000 to purchase a vehicle that I can learn on. I want a GTR, and I can bring one here for little more than that sum, so why not? The only hindrance is the law. Yes, the law that states that no Probationary driver can drive a V8 or turbocharged vehicle. But the law isn't always good and great for the community as it is intended to be. One way a person can show their diapproval of a law is via the defiance of that law. I live in a democratic society, and I have every right to represent my view by driving one of these down the street and into town. And simply because the sum of $10,000 means less to me than it does to you does not mean I am a brat. I'm sorry if the concept of purchasing a vehicle, that I have the right to purchase, that means more to me than abiding by a law brought about by the knee-jerk reactions of politicians does not make sense to you. But it does to me, and I have the right to make my own choices in life.

Now we've cleared that up, let's get back on topic shall we and discuss the original matter presented to us by Socomplayer.

Let him learn by mistakes if it turns out to be one. This thread it seems is against the very policy of GTP. It's a place for people to insult and publicly humiliate other users. Either this thread should be more strictly monitored or I vote it be locked- and deleted so there's no record of people trying to make others look bad here.

Wow you are sour about it, feel free you report the thread and any posts you think breaks the AUP, it's upto the moderators to discuss whether this thread is appropriate.

Personally I can see where you are coming from, but this thread also shows much of the nonsense that happens in small corners of these forums where not a whole of traffic goes.

Most of the time the topics on this thread aren't about showing people other people distributing false information, they're just insulting people and their beliefs- even if at times seemingly silly to others, like GT Pro just above here being made fun of. If I see more posts like that and not about people claiming things like "I have a real Cadillac CIEN and it's modified to make 950hp" then I will report it and let the mods decide if it's wrong or not. Although I'm sure they're aware of the goings on in this thread anyway.

Link? And I don't mean to Do you race?'s post in this thread, I mean to the actual posts that made you PM him in the first place. Then we can decide if he actually has something against you or if you're just making mountains out of molehills.

Look at post #115, it's the first insult hurled, it was clear I was a Holden fan and he goes on to describe me as a moron and a boy racer. It got way more personal in PMs where he said I was stupid, un-Australian etc. but in much worse terms. Obviously this happened a while ago now and I've since deleted those PMs. In post #114 you might see that I told him he hit his head recently, but that was merely implying that he had his info incorrect. For those of you that don't know an Aurion is a V6 Camry- Australian? I hardly think so. I also suspect that some posts may have been delted by mods but I can't remember if there were things there said that have been deleted. And then he comes here saying I threatened him yada yada, but there he was insulting my intelligence, my interests, and me as a person. So yeah- of course I got angry- he may as well have walked up to me and yelled in my face while pushing me.

The only way one person can show disapproval of the law is by defying it? So if I don't approve that killing is illegal, I show just go and kill everyone to prove the point? I know that's taken to an extreme, but it's the same thing.

The law is there, and there is a purpose for it to exist. If new drivers are more prone to have accidents because they act stupidly in a 150hp, what do you think is going to happen if they get permission to drive a 450hp car?

And that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

Simply put the job of this thread is to determine the validity of claims without messing up the thread they where originally posted in. It is the job of the member who posts the claims of another member to inform that memeber as to being posted in this thread so that the member in question has the oppertunity to backup their claims.

In this instance Do you race? doesn't appear to have informed you that he was posting about you in this thread when in fact he should have done. The thread itself is not at fault though it has just been missused in this instance.

There's no rule about having to inform other users if you are posting them here. However, it would be the polite thing to do. I'm not sure why need 4 holden spd has his knickers in such a twist, because I was copied on the PMs where he said that do you race? would be hurt, and he also seems to have completely ignored that do you race? has lived in Australia for 21 years.

Frankly, this molehill has already been made into a large mountain, for very little reason.
