Off topic, but it's just amazing how Amar can start a thread about nothing and three days later it's twelve pages. 👍

EDIT: Thirteen pages...

He started a thread about nothing? No. He started a thread to let people know that news was coming & that PD aren't ignoring us.

I didn't mean anything bad.

First of all, this is good news, as amar is known for being truthfull and having had more exclusives in the past.

However.. on this one, i would like to know one thing before i go aboard the hypetrain as well:
how come Amar knows this? what job does he have, and/or what position is he in to have gotten this big news so early, and so exclusively?

My guess is that we are looking at a christmas 09 release date, worldwide release date, and everything we discussed before (damage, dynamic weather effects, are in the final game).

If Amar knows something then he can't be the only one outside of PD to have this information.

Yeah but unfortunately, even if there was someone else on these boards that knows, it wouldn't matter because the NDA restrictions will keep them from doing anything anyway....and if they do anything without being allowed to say anything, then they would probably and almost most definitely lose their job. Until PD or whoever Amar works for or is associated with, gives him the go ahead to give us the information, we probably won't see anything, but I can almost guarantee GTPlanet will be one of the first places that the information will be seen.

Hi Amar, thanks for letting us know there will be something new soon 👍
Cant wait to hear what it will be :dopey:

Maybe you are allowed to answer a question? Well, i'll try ;-)

Did you actually see the new things PD brings to us (like screenshots, video, a presentation...) or how do you get information like this?

I also wonder why PD spreads information like this to a few people and forces them to be quiet about it...where is the sense in that (i guess nobody knows...)?

Either they want news to be made public, or they dont, but then they also could tell nothing to anybody. Well, i guess PD news strategy is a big mystery :dunce:

Best regards,

ede

Amar is one of the most reliable sources on GT you would ever want to have.
I've been following news on the series since GT1 and this guy has been basically right on the ball every time.

When he says 'something big is cooking' I listen.

Aye, so if Amar works for a gaming magazine, then he is defenitly not the only one who knows about this big news, but one of the few for sure.

So what happened then, how did he obtain this info? Im guessing PD invited a few people from gaming magazines/websites to their studio and updated them, and only them so they can use this info for their magazines for in the upcoming months.
And as soon as PD/sony lift the embargo, we will see updates from all over the world about this big news on GT5... correct?

Interesting.. i like how this is posted in the GT5 forum btw.. no more talk of wee updates on prologue, we are talking GT5 now!

That's a good point. Maybe amar said it would be in the coming weeks or months because he doesn't know which magazine that was there for PD's info will have their next issue to press first, or when.:) MAYBE he said E3 at the latest to throw us off.:sly:

Thats normal, devs and publishers do that to show the press something that will be revealed at a game show for example, so theyre prepared for whats coming. KILLZONE 2 for example was also shown the first time behind closed doors at the GDC 2007.

Hey guys,
over here in Germany I already saw 2 magazines stating on the last page that they will unveil sth. very hot/interesting, one of these magazines (the so called: M! GAMES), states that this superhot unveiling will be exclusively for them (they will be the first ones to show it but i do not know in germany, europe or world) and it will come out on the 27th of february (with that i mean the magazine). So...because they are not the only ones to know this "new stuff", well maybe IT IS GT5...I really hope so, this would be awesome! I will tell you as soon as i can and will try to send scans if possible.

Look forward to it 👍

27th of Feb?! That's still like 5 days away.:( As you can see, the long wait for me is making every day seem like a long one.:sly:

For me it is not easy either, believe me! But (un)fortunately i have a lot of stuff going on considering school so i am quite busy and do not have the time or the oppertunity to even think to often about the game :P .

Im sceptical, the mag is multiplatform, i doubt that a german multiplatform mag will have an exclusive report on GT5 one month before GDC. But im curious.

This is also about the time that Killzone 2 will be released. I have a feeling that any early unveiling of GT5 would come at the Game Developer Conference next month. There are supposed to be a few game news surprises there. But I have a feeling that from the wording of Amar's first post, the unveiling of GT5 will take place at E3. And that's more than three months... oy. :P

It suprised me how this little bit of "information" made my day. Thank you Amar, your post has helped me to keep the faith

They are not talking about GT5 in M!Games, but probably about an horror action adventure, sth like that. Have a look at the exact words.

However, it's definitely about time that Polyphony provides some details about GT5. The last few years have been more than disappointing for fans of Japanese racing games, haven't they ?
Ok, GT5P being some exception, but when I remember the last console generation, we had so many great racing games with sequels every one or two years most of the time.
Tokyo Extreme Racer series, Kaido Battle Series, Battle Gear series, Enthusia etc Seems a thing of the past, the only one that survived is GT.

I hope GT5 arrives in stores by the end of 2009 early 2010 - that's not only important for racing games fans, but also for the Playstation 3 in general.

I agree, but here is "desperate hope", you know?:indiff::)

Not really considering GT5:P is running on GT5-based technology and won't run or look that much different at all.

Except to match expectations GT5 will need to be 10x-50x larger, which I'm sure PD will deliver, but will they implement ground breaking damage, weather and online play?

Forza 3 almost certainly will as they want GT's crown, you get the impression PD will play it safe, which, for a title that describes itself as the real driving simulator, and has been delayed for so long, is not good enough.

i just phone to P.D. and they tel me that will be bikes on gt5,rain,night and day and girls in the starts of 24h races 👍
