Ongoing PSN outages

Yesterday two R8 LMS popped up in my UCD in a row, both on my most wanted list. I buyed the first one but needed 400.000Cr more for the second one.
Time for remote b-Spec'ing. Did yesterday 4 races, 2 more today and i am fine. But oh look, PSN DOWN! No remote races & i can't milk my online drivers. Nice, i am stuck! :dunce:

Really, Sony kicking our nuts. The information policy about upcoming server maintenances needs a dam update!

Edit: finally they have posted a announcement on the PlayStation®Network forum: Maintenance scheduled today Thursday 21st April 2011


"Currently Maintanance is being carried out on the PlayStation Network. During this period the following services will be affected:

* Qriocity
* PlayStation Store
* Account management

You may find you are having an issue signing in and the error code (80710A06).

When the maintenance has been completed I will update this thread with more information.

Damn down here in Australia too I bought psn $$ so I could DL undead nightmare addon for rdr, I am painfully waiting now :(
 
did anyone else get a email about all the great things u cant buy cause the site is still down?
 
This problem is very easy to solve. I had it for 2 days, then I found a solution!

Use the following DNS and everything should be fine from now on.

Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4
Those are google public DNS servers and works great with psn and gt5.

EDIT: this solution mainly effect your log in into gt5 and makes it faster. no more long loading screen or (2:0) - (2:351) error.
 
I don't understand what this anonymous are talking about, what are Sony supposed to be denying us?
 
Anonymous = bunch of virgins in their 'command centres' with nothing better to do in their lifes than agravate those with a life. GEEKS. Hackers do my head in, but then the same can be said about all weddy little geeks who can only do their fighting behind a keyboard. Best way to settle it is like real men and get in the boxing ring, bunch of lilly livered wimps.

Still don't get it, am more than happy with Sony, we get free online for gods sake, leave Sony alone and attack the ripp off xbox instead!

I can't even do B-spec as my Bobs are all on shared status, which I can't rescind without logging in...

Oh well, time for me to go and get some sleep and see what's what later on then.

We already tried the DNS trick. Doesn't work and neither did this.
 
A lot of people don't like Sony bro. And a lot of it has to do with the PS3. Search Cinavia. And remember how they upset a lot of users when they restricted the OS function?
 
Got to love people who rant and rave about the hackers because they cant accept the real reason the PSN is down and that is because SONY are a bunch of trained monkeys armed with wrenches who just give things a whack if it doesnt work

Dont believe me?, then tell me why since the ps3's release and countless updates has the internet explorer not been updated once to bring it from IE5 (unsupported on 98% of websites) to IE9 (you know one thats current and also why people jailbreak to upload new browsers) and dont get me started on PSN thats just 1 big joke...and please dont argue that you cant expect much for free, 13 years off unrestricted online gaming on the PC tells me it can be done SONY just want to have us by the balls while we play!!!
 
80710A06 error here.. (UK)

Was fine last night but this morning my PS3 may as well be a brick.

No news from sony yet.

It's because of the hackers from 4chan or something like that. It's true though, in a flame war between the 2 consoles I'm on the Xbox side so I'm not just sticking up for PS3 when I say it's because of hackers

I'm having these problems again and its driving me insane!!! Does this have anything to do with those hackers or whatever?

A few websites I've checked have reported Sony as stating that the Playstation network is down for "unscheduled maintenance" and that they can't give a time as to when it will be back online.

lol its not even true ie5... its flash capability is abysmal too.... all for a buck too, you know they handycap the browser so that u have to use their gimickey sandboxed apps so that they can ring every last dollar out of the user... best thing is the long forgotten motto for ps3, "it does everything". indeed it does?

Obviously you haven't heard of Alexander Egorenkov also known as graf_chokolo who Sony is suing for 1m Euros for hacking the PS3, George Hotz wasn't the only reason the hackers decided to attack Sony.

It's not the hackers guys. They already agreed a truce with Sony until they found a way not to stop us from doing things.

Ever heard of maintenance? That's what they're doing. And while you may not like it, not checking stuff can be bad.
 
Down in Sweden as well, I personally haven't been able to login for the last 48 hours.
I just keep getting error code "80710A06".
