Ongoing PSN outages

Still....we may have more of this....way to go anonymous...I can live with some downtime if it keeps Big Brother in line

I did not log out of PSN till just now.
When you leave GT5 racing and go to the home screen the Game trys to send data to the servers. they disconnected and displayed an error.
I went to play KIllzone 3 and got a patch request which I did. But It kicks you out of PSN to do the patch download. too late.

Down in Sweden as well, I personally haven't been able to login for the last 48 hours.
I just keep getting error code "80710A06".

Is this a tiny bit of an exaggeration? if not perhaps there are other problems.

Ever heard of maintenance? That's what they're doing. And while you may not like it, not checking stuff can be bad.

Maintenance, haha. Including a 12hr coffee time? Sony handles it like a bunch of part-time workers in the vacation season. :yuck:
Plus ZERO information about a upcoming maintenance.

That's maintenance (EA/DICE "Battlefield:Bad Company 2" PC):

they updating their servers to newest version while i am downloading the 700mb game update, unpacking & installing it. All done in less than a dam 1 hr. 👍

Anonymous said they'll find a way to break Sony without harming their customers. If this is them, they're stopping us from getting in. But wouldn't they know that? Exactly. And that's why it's not them.

Stupid outage just HAD to happen on the day I want my birthday car.

I'm going away for this Easter weekend. Where I'm heading is the current home for my PS2, my old Driving Force wheel and all my awesomely BIG collection of PS2 racing games.

I'm hesitant on Enthusia, GT3, GT4P, GT4, motoGP, motoGP2, motoGP3, TRD2 or TRD3 ...
maybe F12006? :dopey:

Oh the joys of good offline games, from the era when games weren't patchable so were released actually working

You have a point. Although playing PS3 games offline isn't as bad as all the whiny people who NEED to do glitches and NEED to trade dupe their cars say.

Yep, the good old days when developers actually tested their games before release day and not a week later after numerous bugs and glitches have been found by the paying customers.

Maybe sony shut down the servers as a counter to get Anon. to back off and give up.

If they did they would be shouting it from the rooftops not blacking out all forms of interaction... like they do everytime they "update" their (not our) system.

That wouldn't be much of a counter measure, that's like Sony saying "we'll save you the time and effort of hacking us and still give you the desired effect"

I have a 3 year old daughter that throws temper tantrums just like this.

Anon is like a stray dog. Ignore them and they'll go away. When Sony settled with Geohot, that did nothing but feed Anon... no wonder they're back.

F Anon.

its not anon.... its a planned update to psn specifically "home"

If it is an update for PS Home, more cinema screens!:) Though i've a feeling this is combating anonymous.💡

You only have to post it once you know...

...although I do agree it isn't anon. However I think it's just maintenance. Plus an update to Home (which I don't go on anyway) won't affect the whole server, just Home itself.

sorry didnt want t do the complete shpeel again... it may be to combat exploits which vaguely have to do with 'geohot' or other hacks for psn, however the only actual info sony has put out is regarding Home 1.50... http://blog.us.playstation.com/author/pseybold/
this says it all. they do this every time... and every time people blame 'hackers' most of which have nothing to do with anon or hacking... they are actually counterfeiters that sony updates their various systems for and to add or subtract functionality. and it has never been a dDoS. the one time a dDoS was done it only effected the playstation and sony sites that werent https:// and thus no one complained because they could still play their precious games. it was a warning shot to be analigous not an all out attack

Is everyone getting the 'An error has occured: you have been signed out of playstation network' message on sign-in?

ugh i give up... all i'm gonna say is... If this is a hack, then its military grade. there is no way any entity outside of a government sponsored one that is extremely highly funded, and that has access to backbone servers could shutdown all of psn, in every country. if its not an update then it will be because this doesnt happen unless something is being updated or something internally has gone profoundly wrong. you cannot cause this as a private citizen or group. in any case i shall eat my hat if anon or any other hacker is directly to blame. and... screw b-spec im going to bed

If it was maintenance, then surely, after 3-4 hours, we would have a Estimated time frame. Even on Twitter there is nothing regarding this.
