Online Racing -> Apologies Here!

I'm not apologizing, but you just pointing out that GTP_Darthdrift is a dirty player. He's good, but not courteous and will not let you pass. Blocks and will ram you when your next to him, putting you into the wall.

Not sure where to post what i typed, so i put it here. Sorry

Z28,

Unbelievable flaming...since you chose to call me out to the whole forum not only with this comment but with a separate thread rather than just PM me with your comments, I am compelled to respond to the whole forum. I’ll see if I can “grow up” and respond respectfully…

First, apologies if you got upset over what I would call “a racing incident.” I just got the game a week ago, just joined GTP yesterday and am learning the skill. I have spent the last couple days reading the forum and trying to race as cleanly as possible without any contact, but I am not as good at this as everyone else yet. The fact that we were able to exchange places several times with no contact before the incident is a sign that I am getting better.

Second, I remember what happened and perhaps I don’t know online racing etiquette. My understanding from one of the threads is that you ARE allowed to make one move down a straight. I clearly and deliberately moved to the left/inside going down the back straight leaving plenty of room along the outside, and I intended to stay there all the way down to 130R. You chose to try to squeeze in on the inside with one wheel in the grass and there was contact. I DID NOT INTENTIONALLY TURN IN ON YOU. But perhaps you or others can clarify if we are allowed to make one move and when that is.

Lastly, I was recommended to this site by a friend because of the quality of the driving and the character of the people. I have had a ton of fun over the last couple days and have enjoyed reading the threads, seeing other GTP drivers out there and dicing as cleanly as I can. Everyone seems proud to be associated with this group and very helpful, so perhaps I will indeed just chalk this experience up to “one bad apple in the bunch.”

As for a formal complaint, if you choose to do so over THIS, then I will be sure to take good notes next time we are on track together.

Again, apologies if you got upset over this.

Was just in a race with GTP_Darthdrift he was driving through the pits every time on Suzuka 600pp lol. Anyways we got side by side and I was just following my line we kind of bumped each other from the side I didn't really mean to make contact like I said I was just following my line buy anyways sorry about that. I even waited up on you I was going to let you pass me but you just stopped driving for the rest of the race.

Yeah, no worries Noah, I did my share of spinning today. It's tough to go through some of those turns side by side and I should have let you go. I was getting exhausted and was ready to quit anyway, but thanks for waiting. As for the pits, I don't know how, but I kept getting huge leads of like 5 seconds on the first lap so I was just driving through the pits to let everyone catch up. More fun than just slowing up on the straight...didn't mean to be disrespectful.

Hey Darth nice races with you earlier. I sent you a psn. Yeah I am still a little bit new to online racing although I bought the game when it first came out, I just started playing online more about 3 days ago. I would say just try not to be quite as aggressive in certain situations and just be a little more patient. You seem to be a very mature and respectable driver to me though. I realized this when me and you had a little contact and you waited up on me to catch up anyways good driving. I hope to race with you again soon.

Thanks for the apology, i was just a little p*ssed when it happened. I'm not used to contact online, since i had the JP version. We did have a good race prior to that. I wasn't trying to squeeze in by the way. I had plenty of momentum and you were in the middle of the road and veered left when i took that side, causing me to hit the wall. Anyway, it doesn't matter. We're cool now. Other than that we had a good race.

Take it easy, hope to race you again soon!

Well, I'm glad this is all settled now. I do however want to point out to Z 2 8 that making an off topic comment about cmpinberkeley in this thread, and then making a completely new thread to call him out is totally unacceptable here. Imagine what this section would look like if we all did the same every time we had a single racing incident. It would be chaos in here.

Case closed.

Might help if people are a bit freer with benefit of the doubt. Since it doesn't cost you anything and a little goes a long way. eg. - I get a PM apology from a racer on these boards for shunting me off Casio the other day. From what I remember of this incident it was pretty busy in there and hard to tell what happened, however this particular person has been nothing but cool the whole rest of the race and I've never had any problem with his driving any other time I've faced him on the track. Upshot is I'd forgotten the whole thing by the time I got his apology.

Seems to me some people would have opened a thread calling him all the scumbags of the day.

People make mistakes. Sometimes you can't help shunting someone. Unless someone has repeatedly made obvious dirty moves in repeated races then how about you just chill out and put it down to them having a bad race?

People make mistakes.
Agreed. **** happens during a race, especially if someone is testing his new ride or tuning settings in a live racing situation. As long as it's not intentional, I don't care if that happens. Sure it sucks if you were in the top three and now your dead last, but deal with it and stop whining.

Sorry to GTP_Gnobody just now on Suzuka 600. I couldn't see anything through all the tyre smoke/dust and as a result I clattered into the back of you. I waited for you to go in front of me but I got disconnected pretty much straight away. Just wanted to make sure you didn't think that I hit you and then quit the race.

No problem mate, it's all in a days racing, thanks for the 'hands up'!

Look forward to racing you again..........

:)

First,welcome to this site.👍

We are always glad to see racers with good intensions.

About the one move block rule you asked.

When racing last weekend against lots of other racers from different boards I saw not one time a 1 move block when somebody was trying to overtake due drafting.

We accept drafting as a part of the game and feel free to gain your position back by a draft in the next lap.

BTW,the way you descriped the racing situation with Z28 ,I wouldn't call that blocking.

I was playing with a GTP_lifeafterdeath or something last night, it was suzuka 750, and the positions went corvette>viper>111r (me). The corvette went off the road a bit so the GTP player hit the brakes to avoid a collision with him and I was unable to avoid hitting him. I believe my hit took all three of us out of the top 3, since it was the final lap :(

but the earlier 2 laps were pretty awesome. I love having to try and keep up with corvettes and vipers.

Msp3, best person i have ever raced against. I'm not sure if he is on here, but a great racer and courteous. Passes when your supposed to and knows the game well.

Great race man.

Isnt that for online races you enjoyed? :sly:

is there a guy called mattierepremiere as i would like him to say sorry or i will ram him off if he comes with in 4 feet of my car

I don't even know if you come here but this one's for rock-writer. It was the suzuka 600pp race, first lap going into the esses. I use the bumper cam view when racing and realized that I didn't have the rear-view rectangle that's usually there. I slowed down to try and figure out what was wrong and I think you thought you took me out. I know you ended up waiting for me. You didn't take me out, you had nothing to do with it. Thanks, though. It ended up being a fun race.

Sorry for wrecking you and making you leave the race digitalrelay. I got wrecked, and for some reason when I came back across the track, it must not have made me a shadow.

More of a confession than an apology. I was racing some guy in a citroen (gunpowder?) at Suzuka. Now I made a couple of overagressive passes buy I don't think this guy knew how to make a clean pass. Whenever he passed me or I passed him on a straight he would try to bump me off the road. He'd try punting me into the kitty litter on turns. anyway, I (cleanly) took the lead just after spoon on the final lap. He managed to get a slight overlap back and proceeded to repetitively try and knock the rear of my car out. About 3/4 down the straight I threw on the brakes and he went whipping by and ended up spinning off the end. I quit at that point (it was a two car race) so he didn't end up with any money for the race. Childish sure but it did feel good. Maybe he'll think twice about running dirty in the future.

Sorry to Digital Relay @ Suzuka 600, on the casio I'm pretty sure I cut you off...mis-shifted and under-steered into you. Sorry about that.

Yeah, you did. Just kidding. I had a big lead for almost two laps and then I got sloppy and left you an opening, so I have to blame myself mostly anyway. I probably could have recovered and still got past you at the finish, but I lost it with the throttle and just couldn't pull it together. Good racing with you.

No problem. I actually don't even remember that one for sure and there were a couple of lag attacks tonight too. Don't sweat it and thank you.

My apologies to GTP_phantom. While racing at Suzuka (PP600), I got bumped into him right at thefirst turn of the Casino Triangle sliding him out of control. I stopped and waited for him to come back on the track then waited for him to reach full speed before racing with him. Since I do not yet have my GTP_ label on my name yet, he did not know I was GTP. Going down the front straight, he took his vengence out on me by ramming me into the right wall, then at the end of the straight, punted me into the sand in the frist turn. Bad form. My apologies, but I beat you anyway.

Apologies to all the people I beat at Fuji yesterday, intermediate level PP700, just by staying on the track and not getting penalties :D :D . I promise to go back to Expert level.

Actually it is sad, I wanted to try out a few setups of PP600-700 cars at Fuji and decided to pop-in for a race. I even came 2nd one race with a TLD 350z set at 600PP. You just follow and keep it clean as the ones in front go off course.

VENGENCE is wrong,if any driver thinks like, that they should not be racing, especially if the other driver acknowledges that he was at fault

I take it you're not a very modest person?

Hi Sphinx, usually I am fairly modest because I know so many racers are that much better than me. It was just my early morning sense of humour. I could not believe how few racers could keep on the track, and it was the first time I had entered an non-expert level race.

Fair comment. 👍

I guess my reaction was due to my dreaded Tuesday evening mood swings. ;)

Hehehe, I found it quite funny. Sense of humour indeed!

LOL

I'd like to apologise to GTP_Ponchanello for running off the edge of the track all by myself whilst on your tail earlier tonight. I know how close I was and I know it was kinda silly to ride your bumper like that after the Suzuka hairpin, but I was trying to keep as close to you as I could.

However I got one wheel on the dirt. One wheel turned into two wheels. And two wheels turned into three. Then I was off on my lonesome with nobody to blame but myself. You must have thought that you nudged me off because you pulled over and waited for me to rejoin, giving up your lead in the race.

I hate to see someone as good as you throw away a good race because of an old codger like me, hehe. The eyesight isn't what it used to be you know, so next time you see me disappear in a haze of dirt and smoke, don't pull over because it was my own damned fault!

Hehe!

GTP_sOObster, Soooooo freaking sorry for the push I gave you, into the sand, in the overtaking on the Suzuka today..... My bad, waited for you to get out of it again...... Damn Clio too loose for me sometimes :guilty:

just been online racing for the 1st time so if i rammed any1 im sorry, even if it was fun :P
