Oookay, who is up for another tuner challenge?

@Nuro: Jeez, that's a huge difference: 3 sec better on GVS and 4 sec worse on La Sarthe II. I honestly had no idea the track made such a difference, although Sarthe/GVS is a fairly extreme comparison.

I'll be keen to test the new version once judging has finished. Can you PM or post the specs once judging has finished? I can't get on to it til then.

Cheers

Pete

See, I knew your car was more than capable of 1.57's Nuro.....I'm glad you proved me right. ;)

PF, you have to look at tracks that have it all to get a good feeling of every car. GVS, Deep Forest & Trial Mountain are awesome for all round finding out the kinks you may have in the car and fixing them out easily. Motorland is another one too for mid-range cornering.

Yeah I'll post it once judging is done, I'm now spewing I didn't put more effort into it before posting. Maf's was right about my Toe being around the wrong way, after checking a lot of my other cars it was the only one set like that!?!
The time difference on Sarthe II is mainly because of the Gear Ratio changes, it being set to peak at the end of the GVS straight, as you hit the left into right hairpin, instead of 3km odd straight at Sarthe II.
Does anybody know who's judging RWD*hint hint*, because I'm still happy with my RWD entry, the main issue with both is now lack of grip due to 300kw+ engine's with Sports tyres on them....

Yeah, I spend almost all my time at GVS doing time trials, with the occasional foray to the Bank of Capri. I've gotta add Deep Forest and Trial Mountain to the list for doing reviews or testing because I'm jsut too comfortable with the one track.

FTO on El cap? no wonder it got bad score.. it's meant for fast tracks, not mini Nurb.. oh well.. I'm glad to see though, that the 3000GT still has some magic.
So you're not angry then? Excellent! It seems traditional for me to completely slaughter a lamb in every judging. It seems your rigid springs chose you this time.

See, while you loved my nutter DC5, others hated it because it attempted to kill them.

And I'm not one to back out of the FWD arms race, so I went rather nuts with the power once again. The gearing I agree could use some more refinement, and the suspension could as well, but I think for the next TC I'll not be running a DC5. They're too good.
Either way, I humbly request you return the lunacy. Or better yet, tune for high-power lunacy, then lower power? Oversteer is the ultimate force of good, regardless of the media it gets.

*looks over at TCv4 thread* hey, new scores...

*I saw my Spoon Civic* 82?? not bad..,
@ EA11R - what problems did you encounter with my EK9?? I can't seem to quite get what you said.., what did you mean by "dull" ??
The EK9 Spoon should be at least slightly difficult and scary at all times. Yours had no oversteer (That would be great, but I imagine difficult...) or wheelspin, or anything really. It was a competent car. Impressive, actually. But that's all it was. Even if you just loosen the LSD for more agility and less traction, it would probably feel much more interesting to drive. Of course, I'm in over my head here, giving this crowd any tuning advice at all.

*looks at EA11R's results* HOLY !! I am so chuffed at that!! 91pts. out of a factory spec car!! Thankyou bro, you've just confirmed that I am so on the right track with my factory division!!
I rather expected that... Either way, your car is among the best for bumpy tracks. And it's almost certainly cheapest... Advantage?

PF
By the way Nuro, I almost fell off my chair laughing when I saw your score in AWD. Having known you for 15 yrs or so, I think it's the perfect score: It'll go like a bullet, but you've got to be as mad as Nuro to make it work.
Note to self: Drive 22B. Sounds fun!

I'm too old to become emotionally distressed about bad results. :P besides, it has done well elsewhere, and I, if who know how different driver can make a huge gap in the time and how the car feels. El Cap is way different beast from the GVS, which we use to hone our setups.

@ EA11R - oh I see.., I tuned the Spoon EK9 in such a way that, like you just said, it would be competent and easy to use at the same time. I'm glad you were impressed with the car.., :) so, you want it to be a bit more "agile" ?? I think I can do that. One more reason why I'm putting up the EK9 on my garage.., 👍

@VTiRoj, sorry I wrote yours down wrong man, I'd written it on paper correct.:dunce:

Everything is okay now, it's all good. :D:tup:

Now we need some RWD judging, please! 💡

Yes, we need judging in RWD full stop. So many entries though to go through and I've got an entry in there so I'm not judging. :D

Well I now have 419 cars, with as many different colours each version of each car has, that I've found so far...
So I finally have a garage I would say. I'm going to get every one of the 700 one day!! And Any TC in the future I feel I'll be ready for.....

PS: Is PF the only judge in RWD??

PS: Is PF the only judge in RWD??

Parnelli started submitting scores today for RWD, dunno how much he has done, cause I'm not reading RWD scores. I was going to try to nail down Mr Lawrence, and get the mongrel to test completely seperate to me so we can get two scores out of the one house, but there's an illness in the family so he's out for a few days, hopefully can do it on Saturday for us.

PF

So guys, don't we all just like how Parnelli did his judgement? :) 👍

1) I also liked the way he did it, in the sense of keeping us exited. When you throw up the whole judgement at once its work can be a little bit overwhelming for the reader. So, let's say putting up a judged car every couple of days keeps the readers interested, don't you think? It's a bit as your favourite tv-show, you just can't wait to see the next episode.. ;)

2) I also am thinking of putting my pride aside and doing a RWD judgement. I'll just leave mine out of the challenge then.

3) Or, even better, together with another GTP member. We'll do RWD together, he'll do my entrant and I'll do his. (If we've both entered the Challenge that is..) So we'll both do all the entrants, except our own. Could be lots of fun! Of course we'll do it as "1)" described.

What do you guys think?

Edit: Thanks Parnelli and PF for inspiring me.

I would be up for something like 3) and with the coordinated car-by-car judging it would be perfect for me and my PS2's 40-minutes-on-then-cooldown status.

Since RJ and I get very similar results with each others cars I wouldn't mind doing that either, and if there are 3 doing it, atleast there are still 2 independent scores for each of those 3 entries where the rest get 3 independent scores.

P.S. Who likes my new avatar?? :D

Can I suggest Parnelli, that you're very careful with this. When doing FWD we did them all giving initial marks, then drove them all in order again, reviewing the marks, another three times before settling on a final score. We figured it was important to judge the cars in relation to the other cars.

As a student of philosophy and epistemology, I reckon the logical basis for judging this is a bloody minefield. I could easily (if I had the time) write 5000 words on this, I already have a tentative list of four models (or archetypes) of judging, with as many variations on each type. If anyone is interested I can do more work on this, and would be happy to help someone nail out some unambiguous judging criteria for TCv5.

I find it funny that my 'factory' Megane has smashed over 1/2 the field, being only 5pts. from roj in 3rd, and a massive 12pts. infront of d24/7 in 5th!! If PF had given me a few extra points, I'd have one of those bloody podium spots.:lol:
