Here ya go. Capp Cup

It looks like there really isn't anything in the works for ORCA right now. I was about ready to go with the Impreza TC but it seems it was voted off the island because it supposedly understeers very badly. :indiff: In my experience both the Capp and the Alfa understeered rather badly too (especially the Capp) so I'm not sure what was so offensive about the Impreza, but the majority expresses displeasure with the car so I scraped it.

I am starting a new job next week that will see me taking on a lot of responsibility and working more hours so I'm not real sure how this will effect my online racing schedule. After a couple weeks I should have an idea what my availability will be so we can re-group after that and see if we can find a car that the majority is pleased with. 👍

Good luck with the new job! I think you'll really enjoy being your own boss and doing things your way, it's the 'Merican Dream!

I've been in orientation for my new second job the last couple weeks on top of my primary job and taking care of the doom spawn, so I've been spread rather thin myself... Definitely missing my GT5 time!

I don't recall ever having a complaint about the under steer in the Alfa, I loved the handling in that thing. Any faults I had with the Capp were just my incompetence at tuning/driving... :dunce:

Speaking of real-world racing, did anybody catch the Indy 500 this past Sunday? The new Dallara car punches a huge hole in the air and allows for wicked drafting. They were slingshot passing each other every lap and it sooooo reminded me of how GT5 works! Especially since we did some running of the FGT's at Indy recently, it was almost identical to what we were experiencing and it was quite exciting to watch. 👍 I guess instead of PD making GT5 more realistic, the real-world is making racing more like GT5!

I watched most of it and I admit at first I didn't like the car, it looked too contrived. But after watching the race it kind of grew on me and at the end I loved it and was hoping Kaz was watching and would add one in a DLC sometime in the future...lol. I kind of like the fact that they are differentiating themselves from F1 with the style of the car. It seemed incredible stable and should make for some good racing. Good to see a few different engine manufacturers in the hunt and all of them able to run up front at some point too.

Ummm....except for Lotus who was told to get off the track after a few laps because they were so slow it was dangerous. :( That's gotta be a tough pill to swallow, and they're all but out of the series now.

Hopefully they scrap the IndyCar effort and put all those extra resources ($$$) into their Formula One effort... Kimi needs a win this season!

Are the Lotus engines actually made by Lotus or are they just slapping their name on it like they are with just about every other series they're in?

Also, if anyone's interested in Capps, the series starts this Saturday.

I'm pretty sure that Lotus is building their own engines for the IndyCar series, they weren't able to start development until 6 months later than Chevy and Honda which is a big reason they're so far behind. I believe there is only one full time team left running a Lotus engine now, Simona de Silvestro. At least one of the teams actually sued Lotus to get out of their contract. Sad state of affairs and a bit of a black eye for both the series and for Lotus.

Lotus, however, does not construct F1 engines, they are simply a title sponsor. And I think if Kimi can learn to manage his tires better it's just a matter of time before he climbs the top step of the podium.

Edit: Today is my last day of employment until I start my new job next Monday so I'm going to spend some quality time with GT5 v2.06 and come up with something fun and awesome for a points series. Lounges will probably be open a lot so let's plan on getting together for some long overdue racing. 👍

The Lotus engines are made by Judd.Lotus reportedly paid as little as possible for the engines and they got what they paid for.

Judd's last turbocharged Indycar failure was the 1st version of the Toyota 2.65L that was used in the A.A.R Eagle.

I didn't know Judd was making them. What the hell is Lotus thinking then?

The Eagle was a successful car though, right? Wasn't that Gurney's car?

When I think of Eagles from the 70's, Hotel California is what comes to mind. The horror!

ugghhhhh I hate the Eagles so much, and dont even get me started on Fleetwood Mac. The only thing good that came out of the Eagles wes Joe Walsh. JOE WALSH FOR PRESIDENT

Joined a karting friends room and they was racing Caterham Seven Fireblades at full mods and open tune. Using hard race tires. Loving that car. I recall we tried it stock on sport softs and it too was a blast. Interior view is great to boot.

Oooooh baby!!!! Brandon I'm about to be official club Memeber of thee Triples.

Some paint and mount monitors. Gotta decide where to put the three ps3's and stereo that drives the extra shakers. Prob do a lil stand beside the rig. Right side will be wall side. So put it there. Then left side is designed to enter/exit. See what room I have once trips and rig is in place I have designated. Getting stoked.

Funny you mention the 7 Owens. Brandon and I were playing around with them last night for a bit on SS tires. Talked a fair amount about how that may be the next car for ORCA.

Very nice Owens!

It's about time Owens, you've had the equipment for like 3 or 4 months now!

I love the Caterham but I found a fairly nasty flaw....first gear is so tall it takes hours to get up to speed. Not a big deal, unless you crash and come to a stop.....you would likely be at least a half lap down by the time you got back up to speed. While a crash that severe is never a good thing, in the Sevenblade it's an automatic game over. Considering the easy-to-crash nature of the car, it could make for some rather disappointed drivers. But man it's fun to drive and the interior view is spectacular!

I would be up for giving them a few test races today if anyone's interested.

Consider full tilt. There are a blast. We was racing them in a open room and had good luck.

We haven't tuned much in a while. Be a nice change of pace.

As well all mods are removable on this. Sans chassis reinforcement. No stage engine can be done.

Got some progress. Now time to rearrange my room some.

Owens, I don't mean to alarm you, but I think your dog has been possessed by alien life forms and they are now trying to stare into your soul.

Kidding, Nice setup 👍

Looks like someone will need to get a 6 monitor setup to stand out from the crowd now.

Well I've been at the new job a few days now, looks like I should probably be home by 6pm most nights so I don't think it's going to interfere too much with hosting races as normal. I get to sleep over an hour longer in the morning which means I can stay up later too, also making hosting easier. So, I guess it's time to get to work on finding a new car and getting a series setup!

How many people here have the Miura? :)
