Brandon should we consider putting out five cars. Each racer chooses their top three. Then most votes wins.

First pick = 3 points
Second pick = 2 points
Third pick. = 1 point

Then tally up. Tie breaker goes to the car with highest ranking totals.

Example of choices- only example not indicating what cars will be in the five if we even do that. LoL

1. NSX RM
2. CLIO CUP
3. Gran Turismo Z car

Love this idea, seriously.

Really liked the IS-F RM with sports hard tires idea too. That makes for awesome racing, and a great driving experience. Lower grip=more fun

Some seldom used cars that might be interesting

Standards

Spoon S2000 race car
BMW 320i touring
S2000 LM
C-West Razio Silvia

Premiums

Silvia S15 RM
'69 Camaro Z28 RM
Nissan 370Z GT Academy '08
Amuse Super Leggera

Another thought I had was a tarmac series using WRC cars. There has to be aleast a dozen rally cars that have been collecting dust in peoples garages. There are 4 premium models from the '08 season.

Awesome list

^ True dat.

I really liked the s15 RM though. I tried the S2k LM that JP likes. I guess it's okay. I tried in on the same day as the old Jag, and liked that one more. Why are we not doing Jags again?

I actually really like the S2000 LM as well. Actually I like all the GT300s. Especially on sports medium tires, they're all dank nugget.

If everyone owns or can acquire the $20mil Jag I would just love to do a series with them. That car is beautiful and fun and we'd be hard pressed to find a better looking grid.

@JP, there are some small differences in the Rally cars but I think they would be very easy to even out. Also, not everyone will find the same car to be the best due to different driving styles. Clever track selection could help level the field too. If we include the Standard rally cars I think we could find 3-4 that will produce a very closely matched group.

'66 has only ~5 cars. Seems like a deal similar to procuring the Alfa. Just gotta get the '66 ticket and dupe some.

Nah

It's nothing personal though, I know you only like to tune but that's not why I run no tuning, I just think it's easier for everyone and produces closer racing.

With just about any of the cars that have been discussed, I think SS tires would be the hardest compound to consider. I love driving cars on hard tires and having that slip factor. I have enjoyed racing with those conditions as well, but have found the softer tires create better and more confident racing scenarios.

This mirrors my philosophy exactly.

Jag gets my vote. Give us a week to get this car in our racers hands. Now what tickets give us this car? Off to look.

Also got my component stand built today. As well finished a large project on my CNC. Taking tomorrow off to finish triple monitor rig relocation project. LoL. First focus be paint stand in AM. Align monitors perfectly as paint dries. Get all components in order as well wires needed. Go grab lunch and a decent surge strip. Return. Make crap happen!!! LOL hope to be racing on trips tomorrow evening. 3hr LeMans Race on Sunday!!!!

Yes. Add ORCA_Champ as a friend. That is the room we meet in to race. Btw Welcome to ORCA. Only advice is speak your mind respectfully and everyone here will listen. :)

Hi! Thank you! I've added yesterday ORCA_Champ and ORCA_SpotRace1 as friends. No answer yet...

Wait that's the jag you guys are talking about? The XJ13?

That would be insane. I actually just bought another one the other day. I was also trying to convince the VCRC guys to do a race with it, they weren't into it.

The jag would be an awesome choice. I'm gonna wear my aviator goggles if we really do a series with this.

You only mean sports soft right? You guys aren't considering running racing soft are you?

Sorry, I haven't been on the PS3 in a couple days. I'll get on there soon and accept your request.

Tom, we'll likely be on sports soft tires.

Don't own the Jag but I can spam the ticket if someone has it to share. Experience tells me we'll do a whole lot of testing on the old/new rally cars and still end up in one single car.

Possibly, but I'm clever and determined and have some ideas on how to make it work. :sly:

Just pick a damn car so we can start racing again!!!

Please see the above comments. Lol

What's wrong with rally cars? Great brakes, good handling, fast, gears are kinda short but still great to race. Cool looking too.

Oh well, guess we'll just race SambaBuses.

Meet me in the ORCA_Champ lounge tonight around 9:15pm EDT. Bring a Silvia RM and an NSX RM. :sly:

The Silvia RM gets 5 stars from me.
Good handling / power ratio (On SS tires, they are a little too much grip but it makes the car fun and not in the boring way)
Very Good stability
Nice stock transmission
Great brakes
Great turn-in and exit!

+ It does awesome burnouts/brake-stands.
