I agree Carr. It meets all the standards I was looking for and I think it should produce good/fun racing.

So buy the 02 Nissan Silvia Spec-R (S15), race mod it, put sports softs on it, and get it broken in. I'll see if I can figure out how to make a spreadsheet for points and start planning the specifics.

This is officially the car we'll be racing. 👍

Please see the above comments. Lol

What's wrong with rally cars? Great brakes, good handling, fast, gears are kinda short but still great to race. Cool looking too.

Oh well, guess we'll just race SambaBuses.

I don't really have an outright objection to any of the ideas you've pitched so far... Just impatiently waiting, that's all.

4WD. Just not into 4WD cars. I guess I'm kind of a purist at times but I think MR is the way to go.

I'll still race, but I think the XJ13 is a much better choice

We be racing the Silvia RM Premium Car.

OwensRacing: #27 - Dark Gray Metallic

Yep. This is officially the car we'll be racing. 👍

Hi guys.

I have been silent for a long time, but do have followed the ongoing debate about this series.
Must admit, that I was worn out by the constant change of cars in the last layout, so I ended up not bothering to keep up.

Now that a new single car has been chosen, I am back in.... (when/if time permits it)
I just hope that there still are enough racers to keep the Euro-timeslot going :nervous:

For now, I just want to opt in for my race-number:
MikaelK_70: #70 - Gold Metallic

Sign-ups already?
#16 - CarracerPTP (Carracerptp) colors... Not sure... I actually like the stock white and black.

Silvia RM, eh? I've already participated in a GTP online series using that car and then I used the same car in the longest GT5 GTP online race I've ever finished (WSCC 500km at Nurburgring), so I certainly can't say the car would be new to me. It's a good one, should be fun.

Anyone gonna be in the lounge for some Silvia testing later tonight?

I was looking around 8:30. Then got a phone call. Lasted 90+ mins. LoL

I never saw any interest expressed in here so I didn't bother getting online... Needed to go to bed early anyway.

I wish. Just tried three "clean" room online with dirty drivers in all three. :(

If you find a truly clean room in an open lobby it's pure fluke. Clean in the title really means nothing these days.

Got a chance to drive the Silvia today for the first time. Nice car, not too fast but rides pretty low so it has a good sensation of speed. Fairly neutral handling but not crazy grip levels, can light up the back end sometimes exiting corners. Should be a fun ride for racing. Any word on a schedule? :scared:Track suggestions? 💡 Can we please avoid tight city circuits this season??

Depends on your defintion of OK.
The guy in the flying car broke his back. Nasty.
I would say that it was a racing incident, some (many) will say the ferrari was to blame but he was not required to give up the apex.

Thanks for the input, my defintion of OK is "still alive" but i also snowboard alot and have not had health insurance in a good 8 years, and put still alive in quotes

My definition of OK is: "nothing that will stop you from racing next weekend"

I don't see anything intentional in that wreck, but definitely a huge misfortune (for both teams and drivers). Should the Ferrari have lifted and given room? Should the overtaker have held back? At a 175mph+ and live time no replay, hard to say who made a mistake. Always easier to look at a replay for 30 minutes and then decide.

Should the Ferrari have lifted and given room?

Yes. McNish's crashes last year and this year were his fault. Rocky's was 50/50 him and the Ferrari's fault. This was 100% the Ferrari's fault.

Racing incident, IMO. When you have two different types of cars that differ in speed by that much, add in how long they were on that stint. Went for a hole that closed quick..

When is the Silvia RM series starting up? I need to venture over into the clubs and leagues section a bit more often.

Yea I hate public lobbies. Worst part is 95% of them use racing softs all the time, even when driving street cars. That's a complete killjoy for me.

Is anyone up for a practice session in the Silvia tomorrow night, say around 8 pm? Perhaps 10 minutes qualifying then a 8-10 lap race at 2 or 3 different tracks? I can host and set things up, but I am on call so there's a small chance I might get called in to work, so maybe someone can sign up as back up host or just take over if I have to leave or can't make it.

Maybe Grand Valley East Reverse and Nurb GP/D?
