Osama Bin Laden is dead.

The election is a ways away, I would be real suprised if he could ride this wave for a year and a half.

Calender wise, yes. Politically it's next week.

Besides, Republicans were still trying to use 9/11 in 2008.

Just imagine what they'll do when Xbox Live goes down, then. As for Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, no-one gives a rat's ass.

Amazing what the americans can do when the PSN is down.
:)Quoted from another forum: "It's amazing what the Americans can do when PSN is down".
It's Amazing what the Americans can do when the PS3 Network is down LOL (found it on fb)
Well, Obama couldnt log on to PSN, so he decided to try "Call of duty" in real life...
It's amazing what Americans can do when PSN is offline!
It's amazing what Americans can do when PSN is down.

Have you guys heared what the Americans did while PSN was down??

Hey, I heard the Americans did something while the PSN was down!

Nah...don't feel like going there.

I have found some stuff regarding the why and how of releasing material regarding Bin Laden's death and the purpose of doing a burial at sea.

First, they will have to reveal some details at a minimum to the UN, as it has been requested:

UN rights boss asks US for facts on bin Laden killing

GENEVA, May 3 (Reuters) - The United Nations' top human rights official called on the United States on Tuesday to give the U.N. details about Osama bin Laden's killing and said that all counter-terrorism operations must respect international law.

Navi Pillay, U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, said that the al Qaeda leader, killed in a U.S. operation in Pakistan on Sunday, was a "very dangerous man" who had claimed "command responsibility for the most appalling acts of terrorism", including the Sept. 11 attacks on America nearly a decade ago.

"This was a complex operation and it would be helpful if we knew the precise facts surrounding his killing. The United Nations has consistently emphasised that all counter-terrorism acts must respect international law," she said in a statement issued in response to a Reuters request. Granted they are asking less about proof of his death and more about the hows and whys. The story has been a bit confused as it was first said that he resisted, used his wife as a shield, etc, but now it is being said that he didn't resist and his wife was not used or killed. If that is the case then it means that this was a kill order and he was assassinated, not killed while resisting apprehension. That can raise questions with the UN.

Personally, I am fine with an assassination order. Anyway, whatever the UN wants to see will likely be more than enough evidence to confirm his death. If I never see it I will find that to be satisfactory.

Now, why did they bury him at sea? Experience says we should.

Che Guevara was killed and buried in secret for this exact reason, but he was buried where he could be found. Those who think he was great found his body in 1997. They had a ceremony where they buried his remains in front of a 22 foot statue and is now a place of honor and inspiration for those who saw no problem with the mass murders that happened at his hands in the name of Communism.

Sometime next month, the fathers of the Cuban Revolution will flock to the city of Santa Clara for a special ceremony the likes of which the island has never seen. From Fidel Castro on down, they will gather at the base of a 22-foot bronze statue in a city square. There, with all the reverence and solemnity of a high Mass, they will lay to rest the long-lost bones of the legendary Ernesto "Che" Guevara, one of the founders of Cuba's revolution and an icon to would-be rebels the world over.

At the foot of his gargantuan likeness, 30 years to the day after his death, there will be speeches and tears. They will speak of Che's dreams, his Spartan life and stubborn courage, his revolutionary fervor. Perhaps they will even speak of his capture and execution in the jungles of Bolivia.

^That is what they do not want, 30 years of searching for and God only knows how long of honoring his remains.

All the stories I've seen say he used a woman as a shield and she was killed, they also say his wife I.D.'d his body.

EDIT: Also(I can't remember the names) I saw 2 of Obama's security group interviewed and one said it was "try to capture, then kill" and the other said simply "kill".

Agreed.

For accuracies sake the nature of the order should be clearly stated.

Here is an article going over the confusion and corrections:

There's nothing scandalous here, just five different people were trying to answer various questions with different information when not everything was worked out. Considering they delayed the announcement a bit you would think they could have worked it out, but that's public speaking for you.

Yeah, I just finished reading a few different sources of the White House Spokesman's clarifications, amaizing they can't get their ducks in a row. It feeds conspiricies.

I recall now it was Brennon who said it was not an assasination only mission, I still can't remember or find a clip of who said it was. Not important really but you did bring up the UN deal and to them it might be dk.

It is. It's just the way your posts read. Whatever was said in another thread has nothing to do with this discussion.
Again, didn't say it did. It's just how you always decide to read & respond to them, even when you end up being wrong. The whole paragraphs you always right are quite frankly, tl;dr b/c it's usually just a rambling of whatever the topic is.

He didn't say he didn't read it. He used the tl;dr term descriptively, to say, for instance, that if he wasn't smart enough to struggle through it he wouldn't bother.

If you kids learn to play nice, maybe we can all go out for some ice cream! :dopey:

And the beauty of gtplanet is how we get from the death of bin laden to ice cream made with raw milk :)

Nice to know you don't read everything I write before you go judging it.
As you just judged mine. It should be obvious I do read it, though. I wouldn't have described them as ramblings if I didn't. Regardless, it's how you to choose to answer & give some sort of history lesson than that just plainly respond to a post.

Yeah . . .

George W. Bush once said that he'd dance on Bin Laden's grave. He's buried at sea George. Go crazy.
