Race 4, 500 PP at Catalunya Rally Cross. My "tractor" vs @permaculture's Ghia. It wasn't a fair contest, but goofing around, I lost.

my race prepHey everyone, sorry I've been MIA. Another long week at work haha. So, I've been testing different combinations. One thing I've found with the hp/weight combos is that you can't really go that wrong, everyone will be fairly even.
I was thinking of Northern Isle this week as @PapaGnr suggested. That may be one for a bit more weight and power, because if it's too little power we'll just press the accelerator and not let go. But I haven't tested enough.
So, what I'm thinking is a more lightweight, low hp experience this week. I'm going to change the format a bit. We will start in Kyoto driving park, Yamagiwa + Miyabi. We won't race, but just do a warm up as that has lots of turns to test. That'll be our usual start time, which is 6am for me (5am ET). @Mooseldorf I think we are almost exact opposite of each other, depending on what part of Australia you live.
At 6:15 the first of two races will start - first one at Tsukuba, 20 laps. Tire and fuel wear will be on for both races. 25x tire wear and 35x fuel consumption. The second race will be at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit. 25 laps.
For the first race, BoP will be ON. No tuning, and all assists will be prohibited. We will be driving the Honda Beat. It's at the used car dealership right now for $17000. Paint is really the only thing you can do to it.
Second race will be restricted to no less than 1200lbs and a max of 125hp. Comfort tires of any variant.

My race prep at Tsukuba was 2 20 lappers with 2 different tire compounds. Pretty interesting results.
I'll try to join too! Just to make sure, I have a few questions:Hey everyone, sorry I've been MIA. Another long week at work haha. So, I've been testing different combinations. One thing I've found with the hp/weight combos is that you can't really go that wrong, everyone will be fairly even.

I think @Benny44 meant minimum weight of 1200.
- For the Brands Hatch Indy race, are there any restrictions in terms of year, make, etc, or is it any car under 1200lbs(544kg) and 125hp?
Oh, yes I did!!! My apologies!I think @Benny44 meant minimum weight of 1200.
Hopefully we see you one of these days. Or maybe Perma or someone will have another race at a different time😊Understood, thank you! I actually tested and prepared cars before but I won't be able to join at that time, sorry. I'll still follow this thread because I definitely want to join in the future! Have fun racing!
Nice having you join. 👍 No worries about bump-offs. They are bound to happen with some of the laggy bits. Thanks for the races guys, good fun and sorry for the bump-offs.
Thanks for organising it Benny, good work.
Hope to be able to join again.
race 1 was somewhat close between the drivers on comfort tires, right? and I think a race car ban on low weight races would eliminate outliersMy pics of todays races. Great fun but somehow we still get spread out. We may have to resort to boost to keep everyone closer ?
You're right, the races were close for some of us, but others got left behind. Boost might help the back markers get closer to the front. No matter what we do, there's always 1 rabbit we gotta chase.race 1 was somewhat close between the drivers on comfort tires, right? and I think a race car ban on low weight races would eliminate outliers.
I feel your pain @Benny44. Double tapped a few times myself. It was close between @permaculture & me until the insane fuel mileage of his Honda Race Car got the better of me.That was great fun and thank you to everyone for joining. And for the pics.
The second race was an absolute disaster for me hahaha. I went off on the first turn. Then when I made my first of what should have been two pit stops, I accidentally chose CMs, which on that car slowed me down by 4-5 seconds (!!!) per lap.
So I pitted again 3 laps later because I was losing too much time. Then on my third (what should have been my second) pit stop, I somehow double tapped the button and selected no fuel. So for 3/4 of the next lap I coasted until I had to make a 4th pit stop🤣.
That is my favorite car in the game. I think I hit a 57.4 for one lap. I could've at least made it more interesting with @PapaGnr if I didn't botch my pit stops!
maybe i will do one thursday, at the same time... i will confirm (with race specs) before. might be on call for work but i'd be at least able to host/start the races. if anyone out there in the world wide web has a specific time/day this week they would absolutely join, though, let me know. i don't mind kg/lbs, but i am trying to translate when i set up the races (and picking round KG numbers, just because). So, first off, I don't think I ever said thanks to @permaculture for hosting the other night. I think if it was done semi regularly you'd get a lot of people at that time slot, but that's totally up to you.
I'll switch next time I'm on. @PapaGnr and I may be the only two who regularly use lbs on here.Allright! I'll see what car I'll use for that. I certainly wouldn't mind the switch to kg!
i was going to say tomorrow but was worried that was too soon! that might work better for me. and i'll probably be testing out a few of these today in lobby, feel free to join if you want!I'll switch next time I'm on. @PapaGnr and I may be the only two who regularly use lbs on here.
@permaculture awesome! I won't be on Thursday, at least I don't think so. Wednesday or Friday I may be. But don't go by me because I have no guarantees. It IS hard to find people. But keep at it, they'll join!
