***************MESSAGE ENDS*************************

It was fun practicising today ;) I'm looking forward to start this series!

I received a message from you asking me to join you for practice for this event. I immediately checked your lounge and found no one in it so I checked all my other CRAP friend's lounges and didn't see anyone in them. So I then checked all the CRAP racing rooms and found no one in them either so I sent you a message asking you what room you were practicing in ... your response was "GTP CRAP" which really didn't answer my question, nor did it help me find the practice session, so I missed out. With all due respect, I wish there was better communication within this group :dopey:

Knukken assumed you had access to that room. There is a room which we have set up for all series or races we are running from the GTPlanet site. It has been mentioned quite a bit on the CRAP forum where there is much more general communication but I must have forgotten to add you to the room. Sorry for that ANFD.

I'll send you a friend request shortly from the room and myself.

EDIT - Have sent an FR from the extra room so just accept that. Unable to access my own account until later. Send FR to Johnschoonsbeard and I'll accept.

Sorry for the extra post but it needs saying seperately.

Can everyone registered please check they have access to the CRAP_GTP lounge.

Anyone who doesn't either needs to accept the Friend Request already sent or let us know and we'll send you another friend request.

ALL the series races and those organised through the GTPlanet threads will run in that room

Thanks
Race Organising Committee

Now that the P.A.R.C. series is getting underway, i will do my best to host some Tuesday night practices starting around 9PM eastern time in the US/Canada.

I will probably try to have about 20-30 minutes of warm-up and then we'll do a practice race at 50% of the race distance, followed by the same for the second car/track. That should take up about 2 hours. After that if anyone is around, we can goof off as desired :)

See you Tuesday at 9PM! (that's wednesday 02:00 GMT for everyone else who wants to join in)

By the way, Daylights savings time begins Saturday night in North America. So after this week, we'll be GMT -04:00 on the east coast.

Can people please let us know by reply if they plan to be racing this weekend in races 1 and 2 of the series.

Division A - Race Meeting starts 12:00 GMT
Division B - Race Meeting starts 23:00 GMT

Thank you.

Hey, how do I join you guys in this race?

I've sent you a PM and friend request for the room - it's a series of races - double check the original post on here Joe. You'll need to tell us your chosen colour and race number along with which Division you want to drive in (you can choose both). You can see what's been taken in the 2nd post on this thread.

Join CRAP by replying on this thread

I have a holiday end of March but I'll do as many as I can. Put me down for the Sat 2330 GMT session please. Yellow #34

Forgot to mention ( and seeing I note there will be at least one more yellow car) I will be wearing black rims for this series.

Please also note I can commit to Div A and Div B for Rounds 3&4 ( as well as both for 1&2)

I should be in the CRAP_GTP room for P.A.R.C. practice in about 8 hours.

Will set up the track for some practice laps in the VW Golf, then run a quick race (to help break in the car).
We'll move on to the Integra and do the same.

Should last about 2 hours.

Don't forget to run your cars in before racing (180 miles/300km - you can use a race or two in B Spec to do it while away from the PS3). Also remember to do an oil change. This will ensure your car is at maximum power stock.

May I join div.B?

Psn: Cobani
Color: Orange
Number: 28

Cheers

Yes but could you choose another racing number please as 28 is taken. There's a Google sheet you can see in the 2nd post of this thread which shows what has been taken.

Thanks Cobani

The Nordschleife race will start with track time set at 5:30 in the morning. Time progression will be set to 24 this should ensure we finish the race as the sun goes down. Weather will be dry and variability to the lowest it can be.

Last night I ran a couple hours of practice, some of it in the Golf at Nordschleiffe on the Comfort Softs and I learned a lot. For the record, I really don't have much experience driving the Comfort tires ..... not that I don't like them, it's just that my immediate circle of friends prefer the alternatives. Personally I like the variety of experience using all three but the fact is that I'm just not that used to them. It took about 10 minutes for me to "re-program" my brain and make all the required input adjustments, especially braking. As all this was happening I thought to myself .... man, I'm really glad I decided to practice this, otherwise I would have taken out half the field at the first tight corner. That made me wonder if others may be joining the event in a similar situation as I .... unprepared. I think it would be a good idea that anyone not acclimated to the Comforts, do some practice laps in advance just to avoid unnecessary carnage. I know that I normally just show up for events without prior practice but in this case I think some familiarization would be well worth it :)

Wise words ANFD.

We have at least 20 registered in each division but currently only 6 confirmed as racing in eaxh division so far. Could those who haven't let us know yet please confirm yes, no or maybe for the two divisions this Saturday.

Thanks

Everyone should get at least 30 min prac on each track before racing. It was hard to get good lap times for me... looking fprward to div A next week!

I should be able to show for both races, as long as i dont get stuck doing something else :),
Dont think the nurburgring race is gonna go well for me, still cant get good laps round there :/, to many corners to remember haha,
Looking forward to the clubman one though :)

Thanks Lyon. I'm not getting much luck at Nurb either, but it's a very good way to force yourself to learn it (or so a greater power than I tells me). Just enjoy the scenery (and the beautiful sunrise and sunsets of course)

Currently racing for this weekend.....

Division A - 12:00 GMT/UTC
Yes=7
Maybe=2
No=10
Unconfirmed=13

Division B - 23:00 GMT/UTC
Yes=9
Maybe=0
No=9
Unconfirmed=14

Could those who haven't let us know yet please confirm yes, no or maybe for the divisions this Saturday. If you are only registered for one then I'll know not to expect you in the other, although you are welcome to race if you can make it.

I'll post names up tomorrow.

Nummer 82 it is then :)
Looking forward to this Friday's Nurburgring race! 👍

Both meetings are on Saturday - one at 12:00GMT and one at 23:00GMT

Also, you do realise there are two races each time don't you? First the Nurb (Norschleife) and then the Integra at Special Stage Route 5 Clubman. Approximately 40 minutes each race. Not a problem for those who can only make one race.

We changed Division A Races to Saturday a couple of weeks ago.

Hope you're still ok to make it.

Is everyone familiar with using the lounges? If not let me know and I'll give you a heads up. You won't see the CRAP_GTP account online but will need to go into that room to race.

How do I find the hidden room if they don't show up as being online?

I've been asked this so thought I'd add this rough guide to getting into the lounge (and lounges in general). There everyone has access to the online game settings and only people who are friends with the room can use them, so no access for unwanted guests.

From GTLife - (main screen of the game)

Go to COMMUNITY

There you'll see all the names of your friends.

Using icons above the names, they can be sorted in order by
A Spec level (default)
B Spec level
The icon to the right of B is something like a globe (I think). This sorts the names by name (except those online and playing GranTurismo5 are shown at the top)
Then select the name of the room CRAP_GTP
Then you can select the lounge belonging to that user and then enter it (it will give a list of people already in the room). It sometimes takes a few attempts to get in especially when other people are joining at the same time.

Another way you can access the room is if another CRAP member who is on your list of friends is in the room. You can click on their name and then on the yellow dot if it shows and it will take you there.

Hope this helps.
