@Tha_con: all arguments are correct! 👍 RUF belongs to the manufacturers!

Cool, if they also fit into the Karmann Ghia, my dream will come true^^

In an issue of Volksworld they featured a Karmann Ghia with 911 (993) GT3 engine and suspension in it. 186Mph on the autobahn!!

Another euro car i hope they include is the Jag S-Type Diesel so i can try and beat Jeremy Clarkson's 9:59 on the ring.

hehe, that will be easy :P

That girl that drives that BMW M5 taxi on the ring can drive very good. She did 100 000 laps or more there. What time she had again with that jag? 9'12"?

Maybe someone can upload a link for the download of that episode of Top Gear so that everybody who can't have BBC2 still can watch and enjoy it.

Well, she was about 36 sec. faster then Jeremy I thought 👍

.

Yep, thats the famous 993RS made by Bader-Racing! It's told to kill everything on any german autobahn. fingers crossed i can tune up GT4's Karmann GHia ;)

I read that article, it was a few months back, great car.

Yes - Clarkson 9'59; Sabine 9'12.

Now for mathematics hour.

Assume Sabine drives 7 days a week, 365 days a year around the 'Ring. Assume that she has a 10 hour day there and spends 6 hours of it driving. In order to crank out 100,000 laps she'd need to do that for nearly 6 years straight, at current lap record pace...

Chikke bak nie??Ferm autoke om in GT4 te rijde, especially on Nurb 👍

In reality it would drive like the HKS dragster in GT-2 - just straight, because of nearly non existing steering lock.
But it worked good on the Avus in Berlin.

Avus:

And the fenderskirts don`t seem to be free to move:

And so it would look without fenderskirts:

Maybe a Auto Union Typ D with twin tyres for hillclimbs would make more sense:

Also a V16, 520 HP with 800 Nm at 2500 rpm.

That Auto Union ride is pretty hot. I'm sure it handles as good as it looks. Another good job, Croatian buddy of ours.

I'll be OK. I pre-ordered the PAL release for £28.99 and finally got to playing my Japanese release as my Asian PS2 arrived Friday (it even came with a UK plug so it was plug in and go!!).

What does the Chinese/Asian version of the game come with? My Japanese version came in the slip case with a 200 page booklet and a card backed picture of a Lancia Delta Rally Car.

New cars in the PAL will be good. I'll await the details with interest. I wonder if there will be any extra races to win them.

They showed that article again last night as part of a "best of" programme. Sabine said she thought she had done about 15,000 laps and had been on the Ring for the first time at the age of 3 (I would presume not as a driver!).

/Imagines Sabine going down a sloped part of the 'Ring @ 80mph in a pedal car....

Hahaha I remember going down hills in a pedal powered go-kart when I was younger, just make sure you dont touch the rapidly spinning pedals ;)

And is it worth the extra money?

Blimey Rog, you DO drop in unannounced... :D

I see you've gone the Famine-path.. :D Perhaps we can nail our NTSC/J PS2s together at some point in the future...

Her Name was Sabine Reck and after her wedding she is now called Sabine Schmitz. I had the opportunity to drive in the Ring-Taxi with her last July and she drives really brilliant ! When she recognizes that you like some oversteer, she really begins to push it. So at "Hohe Acht" we all had to look out of the Door Windows of the left hand side of the car to see where we were going.

It was amazing and i will do it again !

Oh ! And she was already victorious in the 24 Houres Race at the ring !

So she really knows, what she is doing !

10 Additional Cars for the PAL Version… GT4 was released in Japan on December 28, 2004 with an extensive list of 700 cars. When the game is released in Europe and Australasia, driving fans will be treated to an additional 10 cars including the stunning new Alfa Romeo GT, the beautiful Audi Nuvolari Quattro, the award-winning modified Golf IV R32 from HPA Motorsports, the record-breaking Auto Union V16 Type C Streamline Race Car, the controversial Chaparral 2J Race Car and the 1993 Le Mans-winning Peugeot 905.

From SCEE pressrelease 2005-01-27

As the quote in the post above states Europe and Australasia and only 6 of the extra 10 cars were mentioned, hopefully aleast one of them is an extra Australian car.
