You know, I actually wouldn't mind if this downgrade was only done for the old gen, but doing it for next gen is absurd.
This would give last gen players a huge advantage in visibility... though I forgot, the game isn't cross-gen last I heard. So I guess that wouldn't matter. So sure, it should be last gen only if the last gen needs it.

Servers are still down...even after the patch.
Patching the game won't automatically enable the servers though. By the way, how much time has passed? It should be up after 2 hours approximately.

Lowest or highest graphics settings always give players an advantage on visibility over other players unfortunately...

Not cross-gen? Might explain this?
Last time I went in a lobby of a PS4 player with me on a PS5 version and it worked just fine. That was with update 1.06.

At least it makes it a bit easier lol. Who knows why they removed it? I'm guessing there's a legitimate reason.
If I wanted something easy, I played something else, it’s not easy, it’s a stupid fix. Just make excuses and defend PD. They have to fix it.

I agree, but I repeat, a setting would be enough to choose the amount of effects, a basic stuff, but at least they know this in PD? I’m beginning to doubt that.

Lowest or highest graphics settings always give players an advantage on visibility over other players unfortunately...
Which happens quietly on PC, so they’re just excuses. One adjusts them as best he prefers, if then he will have less visibility is aware of his choice, is so simple and would be good for everyone.

Well this is of course a large issue, I thought it was more than that, but that's okay... I think...

Statement by Kaz

I wanted to explain what happened in this update.

Immediately before the release of the 1.07 update, we discovered an issue where the game would not start properly in some cases on product versions for the PS4 and PS5.

This was a rare issue that was not seen during tests on the development hardware or the QA sessions prior to the release, but in order to prioritize the safety of the save data of the users, we decided to interrupt the release of the 1.07 update, and to make a 1.08 correctional update.

This is the reason for the delay.
My sincere apologies for the late report to everyone.

Also in this update, some event rewards have been adjusted. I wanted to also explain the reasons for it and our plans going forward.

In GT7 I would like to have users enjoy lots of cars and races even without microtransactions.
At the same time the pricing of cars is an important element that conveys their value and rarity, so I do think it’s important for it to be linked with the real world prices.
I want to make GT7 a game in which you can enjoy a variety of cars lots of different ways, and if possible would like to try to avoid a situation where a player must mechanically keep replaying certain events over and over again.

We will in time let you know the update plans for additional content, additional race events and additional features that will constructively resolve this.
It pains me that I can’t explain the details regarding this at this moment, but we plan on continuing to revise GT7 so that as many players as possible can enjoy the game.
We would really appreciate it if everyone could watch over the growth of Gran Turismo 7 from a somewhat longer term point of view.

I wouldn't say quietly though, tryhards at Fortnite (which there are lots of them) tend to lower the graphics so that they can see better.

So because the update prevented the game from starting in very rare cases, all of us had to wait 30 hours. Ok.
Surprisingly everyone who fired up the game on any platform never complained that was the issue, I mean there would be at least one or two people mentioning it here, so raving bollox I'd say

From Kaz
Thank you for sharing this. I was really enraged with the state of GT7 even before 1.07. It's surprising how much a sincere report and apology can calm and satiate me.

If I'm interpreting Kaz correctly, he wants to offer more races that pay roughly equally to each other with respect to time taken, that is also more lucrative than what we currently have. I hope I'm right about this.

I really want to thank the staff and especially technicians at Sony and PD who have no doubt had a rough two days.

Yep, but you are aware that if you use graphics with higher effects, you will see less. Giving a setting for this is the solution, but many do not understand it and it is the fault of stupid reviewers who probably have never seen a live machine.

I think that is the most open and honest about negative feedback that I can recall him being.

Now that the game is ON, the priority is to fix the effects, come on guys, at least the game will return more immersive or still be able to convince PD to make us the possible choice.
