Edit, now says down for maint and not update your game so maybe its not available as it's restarting to new level

A great start to 1.08.

To be fair, they updated our games, not the server.

Will be curios what the patch note says, probably still keep us in the dark to what happened.

I am assuming that analysing the fault, coding fixes, completing a new version, thoroughly testing it and distributing it to all servers is not a mean bit of work for just over a day.
Don't know what you do in a day?

Don't forget the Sony QA process on top of the internal PD stuff. Assuming 1.07 broke something horribly, getting it resolved and patched in a day and change is insane.

Scarier thought for yall who already updated, 1.08 was in the Dev hopper and accidentally released to the public when trying to push a patch to fix .07.

It's either 1.07 with the bug fixed, or the whole change that caused the bug removed, or just 1.06 again. We won't know until the servers are back up and/or we have changelog.

The maintenance isn't over, so it's possible the servers aren't fully updated yet

Broadcast Mode is still in the sound settings so it's not rollback to 1.06.

Working in software development really helps in understanding the whole lifecycle of GT7 and its updates! Possibly making me (a little) more patient waiting for 1.08.

I guess they sent this patch to Sony for review and it was published by Sony once done.
PD waited for that and will now update the servers. So, assuming no new bugs are found, 1-2 hours and it can be back live.

I doubt it would have been this quick if it had been a third party game without Sony support

There will be ongoing fixes and updates in the background, it's not like they literally just spend 6 days working on one specific update. 1.08 was probably not far off ready to roll and they've been able to get it out with the fix.

Yeah indeed. My background is wintel, networks, vmware etc and now major incident mgmt for global 'mega' bank, so appreciate to an extent on how these things work. Particularly for larger corps and all the chamge mgmt, testing red tape.
Amazing how busy we are on sunday/Monday after the weekend changes/maintenance windows.
