It will be GT7 but at the expense of GT Sports serious online racing ambitions. The fan base want GT7. I will go to iracing for the proper online thing and use GT7 for a more casual play sometimes. I think it's a shame they have failed in there ambitions but hats off to them for trying.

i actually hope that we will get more challenges, like for example these missions. yesterday i did one race where i had to time my pit stop, take care of the tire wear and be on point with the refueling in order to position myself in a good place to win the race over 8 laps or so. it was really exciting and way more fun than progressing through some "you start 12th and have 3 laps time to get to 1st, then you repeat this in the next race with a different car, here you have your exciting career-mode"

you can also have a challenge mission for example, where you have to drive 3-4 laps with a slightly damaged car and you have to manage to finish in a certain position
just throwing around some ideas...

There is absolutely no reason they can't and should have done both.

It looks like a copy and paste of most race games. We won't know until we see how they're structured but it's offline racing. Run the AI off of the road and chase the rabbit. Rinse repeat.

Why would I look at your old posts? I don't know you, remember?

You haven't been able to tell me what you want from an offline campaign. Other than using descriptive words reserved for sandwiches ("Fresh", really?) you haven't had much of a specific opinion. The tuners, they know what they want. You though, I don't know what you want and I just find your complaint to be thin and unreasonable.

But hey, you're entitled to it, but I just don't know what you mean.

Only 10-20 lobbies online globally at any given time, Sport mode struggling to properly match full lobbies of each rating, sales totally nose-diving in week two, I doubt this will this will make any different, it's too late, this game is a relative flop (compared to the others).

it may be a relative flop compared to others but for me its good, because you can concentrate on a player base that actually likes the way the franchise now wants to go. so for me its okay the way it is, as i dont miss career mode at all. just give me a really nice multiplayer with rewards and a wide enough range of tracks and cars to customize some free play races. i found myself yawning at the fm7 career mode, so its cool to see that GT tries something different

Good point, but will it be profitable?

We can all hope this digs the game out of the sales hole it is in but will it? Street Fighter V has had a number of solo mode updates but it hasn't translated into sales. They are releasing an Arcade Edition of the game to do that even though it's a free download for existing players.

Perhaps once players minds are made up that a game isn't for them it needs a new release to get them to look again?

If that's so, I'd expect a "GT7" edition sooner rather than later.

Those 12 free cars are part of a free update that will add single player carreer. What did you not understand?
And they call it "update" and not just DLC because they propably gonna add a patch in there too.
Oh for crying out loud, that is still DLC. It doesn't matter that it's included in an update. DLC is often added to games through updates anyway, you have to update FM7 for instance to have access to that game's DLC packs. The only difference is that Turn 10 put a pay wall behind their DLC while PD is just letting you have it.

Knowing PD being so slow for anything, this was a quick turn around. The online races where always an issue, with kids trashing them. Fixing that is a must for it to be viable content, with no fixed times to race as well. How you can have a game such as GT with no career is beyond belief really. This should have been GT7 with improved online racing as the added bonus to a proper career mode we know they can do.

Gotta source for those sales? I just checked UK and JP sales, and it’s still hanging out around the top ten which is pretty good considering AC, CoD, and Mario have been released since then.

Yeah loot boxes & paid DLC are to be avoided. Look how long it took to get GT6 content, & parches are regular with these guys at least. Cant say the same for other companies & there shady practices.

I really don’t think PD is as slow as people make them seem. Kaz was pretty vocal about how crappy the PS3 was to develop for, and they still released two games and a demo for it. GTS was built from the ground up, so I can understand the delay with that.

Agree completely with this statement. I feel that they had the formula backwards with this one. They focused too much on the online aspect (which is still great imo) but thought for some reason it was good to provide a very limited single player mode...

Obviously they are remedying the situation now, but still they had it backwards from the beginning.

I know with the overall excellent matching in the Sport Mode daily races that puts drivers of similar skill together I personally have not even considered the need to going looking for races in the lobbies. I have found some really good fun competitive races outside the lobbies

Just because the lobbies are not full does not mean that other areas of the game are to be classified as a "relative flop". Seems there are many that their desire is to see GTS not do well, hopefully there are a lot more that will continue to support the franchise.

Hmm, I'd never call a game update DLC. That's all it is, a game update, the additional content is just part of the update. Were the previous updates DLC? DLC for me has always been extra downloadable content, separate from the main game you can opt-in to, paid or free.

If we're being pedantic about it, technically the whole game is DLC for me, I downloaded the content from the PS store to begin with.

Big teams having separate teams is not a surprise. That doesn't mean they aren't capable doing other tasks at all, where they end up is up to the management obviously.

So why do you think that they are separate teams? And why do all these studios have the same team structure? Why don't they just have one big 3D modelling team that does everything? And why aren't there any alternative structures, such as "team a-h", "team i-q", "team r-z"? Team a-h could do Audi and Bathurst, team i-q could do Imola and Jaguar, team r-z could do Renault and Suzuka. Why not? If they all do the same job anyway?

I quickly checked and spotted a job offer from PD (from a while ago) at their site for a CG artist. It mentioned both, car and course modelling amongst other things...

No, they are not looking for "a CG artist". They are looking for several CG artists. They're not asking the same person do to both tracks and cars, because we already know that they are organized into different teams. Where they end up is not based on management rolling a dice, it's based on their skills and what they're good at. I'm sure some artists would do a good job in either group, but then it's because they have the required skills.

A car modeler and a landscape modeler are both called CG artist, just as a painter is called a painter regardless of whether he's painting landscapes or portraits. That doesn't mean that the landscape painter is also good at painting portraits, and vice versa. I'm sure the landscape painter can paint a portrait if they must, but chances are that it won't be up to par with what the portrait painter can achieve.

A complete newcomer trying to follow YT tutorials step by step has nothing to do with this.

Of course it has. If you learn how to model a landscape in 3D, you should be able to use that knowledge to model a car. After all, it's the same thing...

They just need to give people the option to save offline now and we're good.

I don't have the game so do you need to have PS Plus to save the game or can you save without PS Plus?
PS+ only applies to the multi-player aspect of online gaming. It has no effect on single player gaming on or off line.

It's free dlc. Whenever dlc is released many many many times there are changes to the base game as well. However you slice it, the cars are free and it is downloadable content.

Oh! PDI realized their premium cars are future proof finally?

All of the December cars, with exception of Chris' Nova are GT5/6 premium cars converted over. These updates seem to indicate that many of these '500' cars will not be entirely new cars but just converted over GT5/6 premiums.

Or in layman terms, PDI are doing the work they should've been doing prior to launch, but didn't because they thought their iRacing clone would sell good without said work.

Yes, it's a game update, but the game content itself is still DLC. Because that's what DLC is, additional content that you're downloading to a game.

I wouldn't agree to paid DLC being avoided entirely when it's brand new stuff that the developer put time & work into making. Of course I agree about the loot boxes, but only if you have to pay money for those. If it's just using in-game currency, then I don't care.

The single player expansion is great and all but this is even better !

2. Some elements of the car physics simulation model have been improved. This can be noticed especially in commercial cars, which exhibit less grip on the road, with improved sense of realism and controllability.

Where did you hear that they'll be using 'future-proof' GT5/6 models? As far as I know, and from the fact that they're only giving us three premium models, it would seem that they'e re-rendering the cars.

You seem to be trying to imply that you're far wiser than PD and that they'e just idiots trying to keep up with your superior intellect/understanding of the gaming world. A lot of PD's reputation rests on the trailblazing graphical quality (barring obvious examples) their games have, I highly doubt they care in what areas you feel they should be compromising that quality.

There's generally around 100+ lobbies for me at any time and all my sport mode races have been fully populated
