They stated in their own news article they would release new tracks "in the coming months". It would be good if it was part of the GT mode update, but I personally will surprised if we even get one new track with the update.

Agree - in my opinion these teasers often indicate what is coming.

If you look at the latest tweet it would suggest extensions or new versions of existing locations.

I suspect new track locations will come later potentially as paid DLC - all the focus will in my opinion been on integrating GT League.

Given planned E Sport race in September 2018 its likely that Catulyna will appear before then but more likely to mid 2018 to my mind....

I believe that there will be some circuits added in the next Update. Main reason for that is the GT League. I doubt they'll Let us race the same few tracks 20 - 50 Times in GT League. Plus/ They've said that they listen to their community.
It would be an epic piece of joined up planning if this update came out tomorrow/Friday and contained the tracks from the original Gran Turismo.

It was a joke referencing all the people who claimed that it was now too late for the update to come this year...
I know, i just put it out there, so people could see that we infact can get a update this friday, but since we haven't heard anything from either Sony or PD, i will try  not be hyped too much.

Not if we look at the Japanese calendar, friday is just a normal working day:

:)

If we look at almost any European or American calendar, Friday is just a normal working day!

No teases of GT League yet? Maybe that's not coming in this update.

TBH I'll be very surprised if the next track released isn't either La Sarthe (most likely?), Spa or Silverstone. And disappointed if it's a fictional track, even if it's a classic.

Many more things on that Twitter account aswell

But nothing about this here, odd that official GT twitter (i think) don't say anything about this update, looks like Sony and PD is the last place we are getting info from :odd:.

"For me that's n°1 factor when buying a TV"

I fail to see monitor there :D seriously, I don't need a monitor, I don't have a PC and I like nice, big TVs, not a little monitor. Besides, 4K HDR monitors are like what 1500€? For a much smaller display and a few extra saved ms? Not worth it at all. GTS is a racing game, it cannot compare with FPS games, where those extra ms might just save your life.

Dunno what they cost but they're always better :) and seeing as every 0.001s matter in racing, I'd say it would make a much bigger difference in a racing game than in a shooter.

I've been #1 2years straight -2003? it's been a while lol- on PC in a shooter, +350wins/7losses, a couple of ms simply does not matter in a shootergame, a tenth of a second however can be vital.

As laptime is the deciding factor in racing games I can't possibly see how it has a bigger impact on FPS than on racing.

I could be wrong but I'm speaking out of personal experience

You do realize lower input lag alone won't make your lap time faster :ill::lol: Yes they are very pricy, mainly because of 144hz panel, which is absolutely useless when outputting a PS4 signal, which caps at 60hz/fps. Basically for the price of a 4K HDR monitor you can buy an OLED 4K HDR TV with much bigger display.

This came from nowhere... :scared:

Yeah, you're not dreaming. Still need reliable source to find out. 💡

Good early catch there!

There's an important date in GT history coming up this week...

Why am I thinking that this was in no way whatsoever coincidental. Hmmmm :odd::D

As always, old tradition :

Damn - I've been keeping mine handy all week waiting for news and you beat me to it... Well, who cares, its worth a repeat... :)

Looking forward to when the update drops this weekend (Friday evening UK time would be nice Kaz :sly:)

PS I'm loving the Santa suit on that twitter account :D

I fly racing mini quads and whenever you do something to reduce control or display lag there it's really noticeable. Even if it's what sounds like a really small amount of time once you start putting it in terms of how far you will have travelled in that time it starts to make sense. If I get a better camera and then I'm an extra six feet further away from something when I first see it and if I reduce the input lag so that the craft moves six feet earlier then that can be significant. But on the other hand these improvements for that hobby have only cost me about £40.

How much input lag are we talking about here anyway? If your car is travelling at 240kph then you will travel about 1 metre every 15 milliseconds.

Well my TV's input lag is around 18ms. High-end monitors can do it as low as 2-5ms I think. I've never said it's not noticeable. I've said it's not worth it in my opinion. At least not for me.

\|/
\|/ I stand corrected. Judging from that website, monitors are not really that much faster after all.

This is just not true. At all.

Most monitor manufacturers label their panels with their low pixel response time which most people confuse with lag, hence why everyone thinks all monitors have much lower latency than TVs. Manufacturers don't publicise lag metrics for their displays. Monitors do not have 2ms of lag.

If I recall correctly human eyes operate at 13ms. Anything faster than that in a monitor is wasted..

For fictional tracks inparticular, it would make sense to offer more configurations. Even in the real world established tracks are often modified not just for safety, but also rallycross, drifting and driving schools.

Shorter configurations would be welcomed so people don't automatically default to Gr.3 and quicker.
