Woke up today to this news. I loved the F&F series, won't be able to watch them in the same way again.

RIP Paul Walker. You will be missed.

When I first heard the news I didn't think it was real so I looked it up and almost cried when I found it was real. I remember watching the Mines video with him. He was part of the reason I loved Skylines, especially the R34, I remember when I tried to paint his car from 2F2F in NFSUnderground 2. R.I.P Paul Walker, you will be missed.

RIP Paul. I too, love Skylines because of the Fast and Furious movies.

I just hope that his death was quick and painless, so he wouldn't suffer.

If only he was in a Nissan GTR..

If only the Porsche Carerra GT safer :

I guess no matter how good the design is, there's going to be a flaw somewhere ... would it be safer if the car had fuel cut feature, auto fire extinguisher ?, roll cage should have been compulsory ?, for this kind of car - open top and massive power on a low weight chassis.

The fact Roger Rodas was driving shows that no one is a good enough driver to speed safely on the road. It's a tra tragic reminder to keep the racing on the track, where there's runoff, marshals, and tire barriers. R.I.P. both of them.
RIP Paul and Roger

I only knew Paul Walker through his role in the "Fast & Furious" movies, and although I'm not a huge fan of them, I've fairly enjoyed watching the vehicular action involved, no matter how ridiculous they are. Thanks to him for being part of this entertainment value. Still, I don't feel that those movies he's prominent in were highly respectable or praiseworthy, and to some, they might be rather bad or misleading representations of car culture. But this man's a truly massive car enthusiast as well, so, much respect should be given by other car enthusiasts to him, and there's no doubt that he's a very talented actor.

As for Roger Rodas...well, I've just heard about him. Notice that this is another racing driver who passed away this year - there have been numerous racing drivers lost this year already - Allan Simonsen, Sean Edwards, Maria de Villota, and perhaps there are also others that I don't recall now. It's a tragic time for the world of motor racing. I've read that Rodas was quite impressive in his rookie year in Pirelli World Challenge. Respect for him and I am sorry for those who were looking forward to see more of his great performances.

Rest in peace, Paul Walker and Roger Rodas.

R.I.P. Paul and Roger. Both will be missed :(. Still cant believe this is true, Paul was so young. He was a great person, actor and dad.

Just an observation, but it's a little ironic that there's a scene where everyone is watching Dragon: The Bruce Lee story in F&F1 and Walker leaves us far too soon like Bruce. Am I comparing the two? NO again, just a sad connection.

I am truly in disbelief right now, Paul Walker will be dearly missed. I can't believe this happened. He was my favorite actor, he was just a great person and will be missed greatly. I don't care what religion you are please say a prayer for his family.

Why does stuff like this always happen to good people! This is truly tragic.

What about when Han burned to death in his RX7

Cars are obviously designed to hold together, but above a certain speed cars can't be expected to hold their shape under heavy impact.

Very sad news, RIP Paul.

Actually in the case of most mid-engine super/hyper cars they specifically ARE designed to split apart under heavy impact for both energy dissipation and passenger compartment safety.

They crashed next to a sign with the posted speed limit of 15mph. The car is completely mangled, so they were definitely speeding.

CNN and NBC reported 45 mph sign in that area, the link posted from google street view allows you to see. I spent 15 minutes on it, looking for the posted speed signs, and matching the buildings to the crash photos to get a theoretical idea of what happened. Though still it doesn't matter, since the was traveling at a good rate, and until the report is released we wont know how fast. Also as the other user said and you corrected upon there was a slow down sign.

Second you say they, there is only one driver and not to knock Rodas but he was the driver. So as if it was a joint effort...

The fact remains he was a responsible car owner, and dealt with selling his rare cars along with driving and tuning them. He also was big at track racing, and my point is it is bad enough the news will speculate if the car was involved in street racing or such but we shouldn't unless proven.

What a tragic and sad outcome to a genuinely noble cause :(

R.I.P Paul and Roger

Kind of ironic, I hardly see him wear black and sunglasses...

Anyways, some poster on autoblog pointed out when looking at the Google Maps street view there is a gas line right where they crashed. Its possible striking this caused an explosion and attributed to the carnage we see. If at all the fire.

Tragic news, my thoughts go out to his family and friends.

RIP Paul, you will be missed.

Two people have lost their lives in this crash, and whether they were speeding or not, they didn't deserve to die in such an horrific way.

My thoughts are with the families and friends of Paul Walker and Roger Rodas.

R.I.P.

I wonder what will happen to Fast and Furious 7, the film is essentially finished. I'm sure Paul would love to have the final film released, perhaps in a tribute with the proceeds going to his family and the charity he was helping when he died. I personally would love to see him in action one more time.

R.I.P Paul :(

When looking at the tweets of everyone about Paul Walker. There is a very graphic and disturbing image of his face after the accident. Just a fair warning for anyone. I feel sick.

Rest in Peace Paul Walker and Rodger. Its like it says in the bible life is but a vapor and we are not promised tomorrow. Do whats important my friends and make sure you know where your going before you die.
