Working on photo, but no depth of field effect I have noticed yet. There is a bunch of visual effects that can be toggled, not that remotely sound like blur or AA.
Visual effects
Post processing filters
Lens flare
sun flare-exterior
sun flare-interior
Bloom
Heat Haze
Global Specular Irradiance
Exposure Compensation
Rain Drops
Vignette
Crepuscular Rays
Screen Dirt.

My setup is in order of listing
On

I'm about to go through each of the big ones to see what happens.

I would say have a look at the camera menu rather than the visuals menu for blurness on the helmet and cars (It is the depth of field that causes the blur)

>camera >field of view (try some of these to suit) speed sensitivity etc and then

Press R1 >Movement menu and all the depth of field settings of :

High Speed shake, World Movement,g-force, helmet depth of field, leaning etc..will help-Just trial and error to what you prefer 👍

Great game but so frustrated with th a hole idiots that play it. You run a clean race and they just try to wre ck you to take you out. Really ruins to online fun factor!!!!

I hate using the chase camera angle, but on a somewhat decent speaker system turned up a lot of cars sounds fantastic from that viewpoint

Will give those a shot, thanks. Will let you know how things turn out.

Physics, time and weather, track list... absolute joy hotlapping! Dare I say... THIS is the real driving simulator.

Racing simulator? Not there yet for me. Aggressive, dive bombing AI is very frustrating! Others have mentioned questionable AI tire wear. I'm waiting to see how SMS responds. I can't continue with career mode if AI is not on the same playing field.

Uh, help guys? I deleted my first save because I was like hell no to F1, so I delete it and create a new one for touring cars. However when the contracts came up, my name was there twice "so like it read 'Dear John John'," but it wouldn't let me back out of the original discipline select screen. I press start to access the quick drop down menu to get back on the main menu via garage, but now I can't create a new save because the "Next" key is locked.

EDIT: Now it works. Either it didn't work because I input my name and everything using the Smart Glass app, or something internal.

AND ANOTHER THING, apparently you can't be Mexican in this game. I am heavily offended /s but seriously, why isn't there a Mexican nationality?

Probably not the right place to ask, but I'll do it anyways and see haha. Having a bit of trouble at Silverstone, International layout I believe, 3rd round of Clio Cup Champ. My left front tires always overheat, and my right rear tire always never heats up enough. I've messed with pressures so much that my head is about to explode lol. Anyone know approximately where I should set my pressures to?

When I was at the track during development I had a talk with the Dunlop guys during a Clio Cup race. He said they recommends a minimum of 2.4 bar HOT all-around. Since FWD gets really hot you need to deduct about ~0.3-0.5 bar from the hot pressure. So 1.9 bar or higher in the setup menu.

Well **** I'm pretty off there. Lol. Is that for pretty much any race track?

One way to get a good start in this game is to pluck your car into first gear. (you can do this with either a manual or auto) When the lights go out, you can zoom past the opposition!

Happy to see that for once the "prototype class" isn't dominated by a 25 year old Group C car.
Haven't played GT5 or 6 (have a X360), but from i have read here on gtplanet, the older cars seem to be among the best in those games.
On Forza 4 the old Group C cars dominate to the point that the new LMP1 cars have no chance at all.

I loving it even more than Assetto Corsa. Although I'm now on Xbox One but I doubt the pc version handles any differently. Only thing I hate its the tire change bug. When pitting the chosen tyre does't perform as intended e.g wets have no grip in the rain but my slicks I started with do. Ai only pits if you set the race for endurance but I think they don't pit because of fuel or tyres. Game handling is amazing on my TX wheel.

Yesterday had my first experience online. I've been avoiding open rooms due to the usual first weeks of casual wreckers. So this was a fun race of a forum.

And well... What a blast.

Clio Cup @ Oulton Island 20 laps
Was faster through Practice sessions and got the pole.

Then in race a bit slow of the line but managed to stay in first in T1.
At lap 3 I made a mistake and lost P1. Wheel was feeling weird. Maybe the added fuel??

Then a few bad laps an went to 4th. As the fog came down I started to lap faster and got to 2nd again and managed to get a good gap. Was the fastest at the time. But with the wear of the tires starting to come, made a mistake in the chicane and spun out into the grass.

Went to 4th with 5th on my tail, and started to push again and eventually got through 3rd, and ended the race fighting for 2nd, finishing next to his bumper.

What an awsome race.

pCars is amazing.

I'm having a rough start. Lots of bugs going on, specially some stupid thing about the Thrustmaster T500RS on menus.

But I'm enjoying so far. It's fun, the cars are interesting (loving F-Rookie to the point that I'll probably spend one more season on it just for fun). I skipped karting because, in general, I hate them in videogames and, once again, I was right. They feel a little off to my taste.

Once you set the FFB correctly, man, it's uncanny. I'm feeling some feedback that I didn't even know my wheel was capable off.

I'm a big Aston Martin fan and the way that the Vantage V12 screams almost made me forget all about the bugs.

Besides the issues, I'm pretty confident that a lot of work is needed in the AI department. They divebomb to non-existant gaps waaaay too often. It's so frequent that you can't say that this is some random agressive driver behaviour that you would find eventually on a race track.

The collision physics seems wonky: cars have some sort of tendency to stick together, like magnets. Once you hook up with some divebombing AI, your race is over, which is quite frustrating sometimes. I wonder what effects this would have on online racing, which I didn't try yet.

But, overall, it shows a great potential and I'm still confident that it'll get a lot better. Eventually.

^ One tip for the AI hitting you from behind (or from the side), is to slow down and brake. If you yank the steering wheel or accelerate you will spin out, but just slow down and gently push them off the track when they are being dicks, and you will have a big smile when you look at your mirror and see them spinning out further on the grass 👍

Agreed. I too often have the feel to race on a public server and the balancing/speed is very dependent on the Track/Weather Conditions. Certainly a thing to tinker with for SMS.

:lol::lol: I'll keep that in mind if the AI gets "dicky" on me!

I like the sense of speed in the game. I think Project Cars does a good job of replicating what it actually feels like to travel at high speed on the ground rather than the over the top sensation of speed that many racing games portray.

You do, do ya? One other guy here said the exact opposite! From the vids I've seen, sense o'speed looks pretty good.

Yes, pretty much. It was confirmed over at SMS, and we had Nicolas Hamilton who drove in them.

The track I was at was TT Circuit Assen.

What that video shows is SMS have the sense of speed bang on, So many people are moaning but the sense of speed is not the same as Driveclub!

The sense of speed is indeed accurate. Or better said the distances and speeds driven are accurate, so you see the world pass by at the right rate.

It's just that the sense of distance can differ per FOV setting. Personally I prefer to use 56 degrees in cockpit view. Which basically turns my 32" tv into half a windshield. It's much easier for me to get the braking points right that way, due to the sense of distance for me feeling more accurate to real life. Thus you can also utilize that timing sense of years of car driving.

Licencing issues with nationality? really!?

No own owns a nationality???

Of course someone owns a nationality. The nation owns it, which falls under its corporate name. It's name can freely used for reference though, but only inhabitants or persons born in a country are allowed to identify themselves via their nation or nationality. Birthpapers, passports... it's on there. ;)

For some more silly insight search "TPUC John Harris" on youtube. ;)
