PD must be doing something awesome.

It splits the community, because some people in your online lobby will have the track and some don't.

Example:
A: Can you please change the track to hockenheimring?
Mod of the lobby: yes
B: I don't have bought the track!
Mod kicked B.
SIMPLE FIX!
Tracks are free, and added automatically through updates (as Zahara and maybe returning classic tracks like the heavily hinted Seattle will no doubt be)

Have you played games that use expansions?

You get a full game and then with each expansion you get more content and features, in some cases almost like another game or 1/2 a game added to the original.

Imagine a GT expansion that adds 5 tracks, 50 premium cars, 25 additional A-Spec events and a livery editor for say $29.95 Would you not buy it?

Yes DLC tracks will be a case of some people will have them and some will not, so be it, GT5 had DLC tracks, Forza 2 and 3 both had DLC tracks as do other games. You may not get as many people racing those tracks but they are still nice to have for those of us who want them and if you don't want to get them then you may end up being left out sometimes.

Yes I like the fact that GT gives us updates and free content and the initial news sounded great but thus far it has been nothing to write home about, no community features yet [were supposed to come in January] No Tracks yet was supposed to be one in Feb, was said that there would be one every month but none yet.

My point wasn't to do away with the free updates we have been getting but that rather than having a full new game 3 years later may be better to have 3 expansions to the original game 1 year apart. The game would just keep growing and getting better as time goes by and they still have a way to make money in the process.

this is one of the top 3 wishes i have for GT, to mature GT

1-race creator for career mode (full race editor)
2-permanent and meaningful leaderboards (lap time boards for every car and track)
3-one gt, that expands, update, add content, game save transfer from ps3 to ps4
4-no ingame fake economies

Generally I like the expansion pack idea but I prefer smaller packs than what you suggested. With large packs you tend to have content that you don't really care for. Best solution is probably to have a pack like yours plus the ability to purchase tracks and cars individually. The total individual prices then could be higher then the pack price.

Actually I am especially disappointed about the lack of promised track DLC as this was clearly promised. The only thing we have heard about tracks is the Zahara track. But fantasy tracks don't really float my boat to be honest.

No, I payed a lot of money for this game and what we want is a full game and not to spend more money on this game until we get all the features for GT6 and then I do not mind to pay for DLC.

And of course I was not talking about that instead of the promised features. Those we should get and should get for free. I was simply throwing out an example of what an expansion may look like.

There would be no bugs if game was finished.
Just remember when you had ps1/2 and played games...
I would like to know if there is a game on the market now, that isn't a bugged piece of software?

Video Games now are immensely complicated.

True enough but when some bugs/problems are addressed in a game, one does not then expect the same or similar bugs to then reappear in the sequel on the same platform. Example - suspension settings.

Progress. :P

If PD produced something like my "League Pack" idea, that's about what it would look like. Hopefully with that Livery Editor included.

Say they made an ALMS Pack. Including historical cars as well as a few fantasy goodies, you might gt 50 cars. And you would probably need more than 5 tracks for an ALMS racing "season." Maybe with track DLC that would help out, say if Red Rock Valley was one of them, but there should be enough ALMS appropriate tracks in the game for a small season's worth of racing. 25 events would be a good mini-season. I'd pay $25-30 for a Racing League Pack expansion. I'd consider this something awesome. ;)

I would add one more thing. Distributed software is always tricky to price, and companies often do it habitually or out of fear they won't profit if they don't mark it at a certain minimum. But if SONY is smart, they'll make their DLC market friendly. If a pack is sold at $10 and a million people buy it, that's more than if they sell it at $30 and 200,000 buy it, $6,000,000.

He actually commented on a thread without shutting it down, that's a first. Thats progress.
You might want to check your facts before making provocative statements in future. I did delete your pointless, off-topic post though. 👍

You deleted my post why? Because it was going to get a hundred likes, or because it was the truth. Ok, you might not delete every thread but you do alot of deleting. So now your going to delete every off topic post, or just mine because it was about you? If you are deleting off topic post you better get started because that might take a while. You don't need to be a mod with an attitude like that, the worst mod on gtplanet for sure. Have a blessed day!

You deleted my post why?
It seemed as though its specific purpose was to get my attention, which it did... that was not intrinsic to the topic at hand though and as such was removed as 'off-topic'.
Because it was going to get a hundred likes
Of course, reducing your 'like' potential is one of my very highest priorities, even though I have no idea who you are nor ever remember noticing one of your posts before now.
or because it was the truth.
The truth is a 3 edged sword. Even if it was the truth, it was off topic. You were saved the shame of anonymity, though, since I responded and even quoted your post.

I'm a moderator... I have a quota to meet.

I already delete a fair few but since I'm not omniscient and also have other things to do than patrol the forum, a good number slip through the net. The fact it was about me just made it easy to find, since you quoted my post and I get a notification when that happens, just like everyone else.

Attitude? I suppose you've imagined a spiteful tone of voice and a scowl to go with my posts. Easy mistake to make but a mistake none-the-less. I enjoy being sarcastic but you'd probably do better to read into the purpose of that than imagine I'm doing it to be nasty. Being a moderator isn't a personal thing, its just a thing and I like to go about my business with irreverent sarcasm or curt efficiency when required.
the worst mod on gtplanet for sure.
Really? I'm honoured. :embarrassed: @daan is going to be jealous though... I hope you're prepared for that? :mischievous:

Such a well laid out response. Thank you, I'm honoured for that! All this just for saying I'm surprised you did'nt lock another thread, wow really? I guess in this crazy world we live in nobody has a sense of humour these days. :)

Quite welcome.

I thought it was common knowledge that moderators have no sense of humour?

"All this..."? It didn't take that long, really and filled a gap between beating my teenage son for being an ingrate and making a coffee. 👍

 Being a father of two, that are now grown, and have their own families, I can relate.

I try not to worry to much about what PD is doing, and especially try not to expect anything, but it would be nice to get something other than a car, that can't be modified.

I'm not at all surprised about old bugs coming back in GT6 from GT5. GT6, rather than being an evolution of GT5, seems to be a stripped down version of GT5 that was then built on from scratch. So its like an alternate version of what GT5 could have been.

So true. And people bashed me a year ago when I called it GT5.5, can't say I did'nt tell you all lol.

I'm still waiting on the course maker. Where's that? That wouldn't be something special, but something that was supposed to be there months ago.
It may be nothing special to you, but something that lets me make a racing course through an old Spanish town and out into the countryside, as Kaz remarked his intentions months ago for it, that's pretty darn cool to me.

If they can manage to stream out 20 square miles of terrain for us to play with, that would rock pretty hard. But that's if they can pull it off properly.

I keep thinking that the PS3 is just too darn cramped and old to really push much farther, and I'm afraid what will only be a really good advance will require PS4. Raced Assetto Corsa yesterday, and... it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. Maybe a wheel tweak will help some, but I wanted to chuck it all and, with the possible exception of Project CARS, forget everything else and just race Gran Turismo. Darn it Kaz, you really spoiled other racers for me. ;)

What makes you think it was supposed to be there months ago. They clearly said it would come via update and it sounded like it was going to be one of the later updates at that. I did not expect to see it before sometime around June or later which is still a few months from now.

The Community Features were supposed to come in Jan, and a track was supposed to come in Feb, technically I guess you could say the Community Features are "months" over due but that would be a stretch as we are only about 6 weeks past Jan at this point which does not amount to months and there is no logical reason to think we were going to have the course creator months ago in fact it would be very optimistic to have expected it this month or anytime before.

When it was first announced there was nothing said about it being in an update. See the link below and find where Kaz said it would be in an update.

What they did was promise something that wasn't ready (gasp!) and then not include it at release, instead promising it would come later in an update.

It baffles me how broken promises and silence can be seen as signs of great things to come.

The broken promises are passable to me. Development runs into walls they didn't foresee, and that's fine. What's unacceptable is the silence, as you say.

Okay, I'm back. So. Where's the news? There's none? GRRR!

The one thing that really jumps out at me in that link is this
and will be very impressive if or when it’s officially confirmed.

At any rate we have known since before the game was released that it would not be there at launch and the way I read it sounded like it would likely be May at the earliest and I fully expected it to be June or later.
