PD must be doing something awesome.

The one thing that really jumps out at me in that link is this

At any rate we have known since before the game was released that it would not be there at launch and the way I read it sounded like it would likely be May at the earliest and I fully expected it to be June or later.

What exactly made it sound like May at the earliest? They touted this as one of the biggest new features for the game, it was the main focus of the first announcement and I don't think it's hard to think it would have arrived within three months of release.

I would guess that's because your primary interest in the game is with karts? In that case I could see how you love it (Assuming you only race online, not against the terrible AI) but you must see why everyone else is getting disappointed with it.

I can't remember the exact message or context at this point but there was several things they mentioned as coming via update. It sounded as though the community features would be first. It also mentioned that we may be getting one or more track created with the course generator before we get the actual course generator. Also if you look at the way that stuff is listed the course generator is a ways down on the list, maybe that means nothing but community features are at the top and they did indicate they would be the first feature added so there is reason to assume that may be the planned order of roll out.

But why May or later? Why couldn't the first features have come in late December, the next in January and then the rest March? Except for PD being constantly late there was no obvious indication this would take more than 5 months post release to materialise.

Remember the game was 'finished' at PD around early November in time for it to be certified/pressed etc. Ever since then they should have been working to finish the post-release content. Clearly most people did not expect it to be five months on and still not ONE part of that content.

It's silly that 3d support would be at the bottom when it's likely the easiest element to implement. Even more so because it's a carryover feature from GT5.

I suspect something catastrophic happened, PD mucked up, now they're working to fix that and everything else is just taking a back seat.Either that or they couldn't care less about what happens or when something happens with the game. I refuse to believe the course they have taken to make themselves look like incompetent amateurs was planned.

Well it was clear that we would not get the community features before Jan, that was posted on the news page a few days before release and it was at the top of the list.

No sure where the 5 months comes in seeing as how it has been less than 4 at this point.

Actually it was Nov 27th and there was to be a large day one patch as well.

So It is true that pretty much everyone expected that we would have the community features and at least 1 additional track by now and that none of us thought we would still be waiting for the first bit of additional content from the features list it also is false to say we are 5 months in when it is actually less than 4.

I am as anxious as anyone to get the full set of features and thought we would have at least 2 of them by now but ...

What was November 27th? Games aren't certified and pressed in a few days, most games leave the hands of the developer around a month before release. So yes, it is coming up five months since they finished what is on the GT6 disc. Well ok, four months 12 days if we take Nov 6th as finish date.

Or, they might be doing...

Nothin' at all, nothin' at all, nothin' at all...

Hey Toko. I see even you have become somewhat disillusioned with PD recently. It's a shame to see that PD can't even keep it's biggest supporters on their side. Something needs to change, it seems.
Yeah, haha. I actually feel quite better now, but I still want PD to do better and get those promised features ready, it shouldn't be this late. I also totally agree with you, they'll need a change indeed. :)👍

I still love the game...

But in a nutshell... we need some good news, and we need it quick. Even for those that love the game and play it almost everyday like me, features like Shuffle Racing, Course Maker, Car Trading and Community are really missing. Give me the course maker like it was before, just add 1 or 2 themes, but give it back to me :( :( :(

We need a good injection of news. Let's hope we get something this week.

And welcome back @Samus !

I do not understand how anyone can be the least bit satisfied or optimistic. The lack of content and updates and bug fixes and communication from PD is completely unacceptable.

They basically have no creativity when it comes to seasonals or DLC or features or anything really. They flat out lie constantly about what the future will bring. I'm just amazed some people still believe them, or give them the benefit of the doubt, or believe anything they say anymore.

But, but they're Japanese! We just don't understand them! They were telling the truth at the time, but the nasty Sony made them do it/not do it/un-do it! We have to believe in them, they're a big family and they wouldn't lie to us! They're trying their hardest, I know they are! They're artisans! They have a grand vision for the future of racing games! The PS3 is so hard to program for! They only have a tiny team! But, Nurburgring! Ooo, shiny stars! MOON ROVER!

Did I get all the excuses? There has to be some I missed, surely. :D

Nov 27th was the date that it went gold [i.e. ready for the presses]

Why the need to exaggerate? There are enough issues to voice a legit concern/complaint without resorting to stretching the truth ;)

I'm willing to keep the faith and rather than get mad that we haven't heard anything, I'm excited for the surprise they may have in store for us. Think about it like this, when your a kid and you don't know what your getting at Christmas even though you moaned and droned and wined to your thoughtful parents (whose initial could both be PD) it was actually much better and they were in fact right.

So who's with me in the thinking that PD will surprise us with something special.

I don't know if I'm with me but I'm hoping I am... If I know what I mean???
YES PD now doing something awesome and huge, unbelievable stuffs!!!!!!
something so huge! that everybody will be speechless and stop complaining!!!!
and it will coming someday....:):):)

Original tracks aren't creative? Hang on, we better blow the matter horn to let everyone else know.

People started showing discs on the 27th.

https://www.gtplanet.net/gt6-disc-revealed/

It was printed some time before that.

Yeah no way on earth a game released on December 6th only went gold and began pressing on Nov 27th, that's just when people started getting them. As I said already, it's generally a month in advance, sometimes earlier. GT5 went gold by November 2nd.

Well if you were paying attention in the days leading up to the release there was much concern around here that it was going to be delayed. It definitely was not ready in early November. I don't have the time nor desire to go digging through old threads and news articles but it was clear that it was not going to go Gold before the last week in Nov if then and the announcement that it went gold was on the 27th and believe it or not they can print a few discs that same day.

If you want to claim that they began pressing on November 27th, you're going to need some evidence for that beyond some shots of a disc on Facebook and GAF.

https://www.gtplanet.net/gt6-hands-on/

It had not gone gold at the time of Jordan's interview, sometime in the week before the 10th. The 10th is a Sunday, so let's say the interview was sometime between the 4th and the 8th.

It was scheduled to do so in the next two weeks from that interview, so before the 22nd and could have been earlier. The date range where it's possible that it went gold is the 11th to the 22nd of November.

They could have switched dates somehow, but I severely doubt that there was room in the schedule for fannying around. Without further evidence that they did change dates, I wouldn't believe it.

There was concern here that it was going to be delayed because of GT5. I'm not surprised people were gunshy. I was shocked that it actually came out when they said it would myself, although nothing else has since.

I do not know when they began pressing. I just know that it was reported as going gold on the 27th and there was a image of the blu ray at that time.

At any rate it doesn't matter. the point was no matter how anyone wants to twist it the game has not been out for 5 months and if you want to be technical about it then it wasn't finished until Dec 5th when the day one patch went online or one could easily say it isn;t finished even now and likely won't be for another 8-9 months.
