PD must be doing something awesome.

No use getting irritated. For now, I'll look forward to projects cars and GT7 on PS4. GT6 has a strong enough online community to keep me busy.

To answer the OP, I do think PD is busy on somewhat of a technical marvel. They must be in order to stay in existence as a company. Remember thuway's tweets, anyone? The GT7 industry insider demonstration was enough to get him excited.

I think the awesome update we should all be looking forward to is the Senna one.

It's simple: They HAVE to release something related to Senna: It's on the advertising of the game, the intro of the game, and I bet there's even money involved since PD signed some kind of partnership with Senna Foundation (don't remember if thats the actual name of the Foundation, but you get the idea)... if they don't release anything, you can bet PD will be in trouble...

Other than that, updates in GT6 are going to be as pathetic as they were in GT5... gameplay changes hardly anyone asked for, a dozen Skylines or repaited cars we have already in the game, GT Academy cars (repainted/renamed versions of cars we already have), and lame new features...

Awesome, isn't it?

I'm very positive about my GT6 experiences so far. The game pretty much delivered on all the points I expected, but ofcourse that is a subjective assesment. The sound's are fine to me, and I get a pretty good impression of sitting in a race car with the options set to "large theater" and the ButtKicker turned up fairly high.

The best feature of GT6 to me is the new improved physics. There are a few bugs still to be ironed out (camber, slics in the wet and the pitstop bug), but still it is a massive improvement compared to GT5 (IMHO).

I would like to get most of the improvements you are talking about, but I don't understand why you are expecting them so soon? GT5 was released in 2010 with updates comming out in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Why would the updates for GT6 be any faster than that? They are still the same people doing them. I expect that we will get some of the updates this year, some next year and I would be surprised if nothing was planned for 2016 and onwards.

Three months in we have already got four updates with some bugfixes and some new stuff, so it seems to me that they are steadily working on the improvements. I joined a danish racing league and have gteat fun racing online every week. My biggest problem at the moment is getting kicked from servers from time to time. Maybe they are overloaded or there is some other glitch, but I guess that will be fixed at some point.

All in all I'm having a good time with GT6. We all have different preferences and I guess it's hard to please everyone. I don't care about livery or better sounds, because it won't improve my speed, but I understand why other might feel differently. What I don't understand is the impatience that many seem to have on these boards???

Pease and harmony to all of you. :)

More than anything I want them to talk to us about what the hell is going on.
Kaz is evidently tied up with something, but there are other people in SCE they could talk to. I think Taku Imasaki is back in Japan but he's usually open to an interview.

One thing that struck me last night is, I'd love to see a Kevin Butler video mock interview where he spouts all kinds of Butlerisms. But, with a few morsels of substance here and there for us to chew on. Hey, it would be something, fun to watch, and we could learn something. :D

I think the current bugs are related to upcoming features. These differ from what we had in GT5 as they needed to code it differently, to allow for future upgrades

Camber bug is related to the KW suspension tuning feature
Pitstop bug related to improved pitstops which may incorporate suspension/mechanical damage/repairs.
Sound bugs related to possible sound upgrade.

I may have missed some, but I think these are the major bugs people complain about. Jaggy shadows etc I consider to be a trade off, to lessen the load on PS3 hardware.

I'm patient, and find plenty of enjoyment in it's current state. It will take time, as it did in GT5, but I am confident we will have a much better game in the long run.

So soon? When am I supposed to have the track editor, the community features, the gps tracker? In 2016 when I will have a PS4?

Maybe a few of them this year and a few of them next year?
Non of us knows, but previously they have distributed updates over several years, so why not this time?

Overall I am very happy with GT6. Standards have made a massive leap forward from GT5 so I am very happy with that.

My guess is that Kaz and PD are putting most of their focus on GT7 for the PS4. I honestly don't expect a lot of updates to GT6 but if they come, then that's great.

Updates? I don't think most of us consider key features that are listed on the box to be updates, especially those features we had in the previous game. DLC tracks, cars, VGT and bug fixes are updates, but not key features. Maybe when GT7 comes out we should be able to pay $10 a month for a year or two until we pay it off instead of paying full price up front. Why not, if that is how long it takes PD to get us a complete game?

The one thing PD is doing awesome right now, is making me positive Toko again! I love this update! :D
You feeling OK? Have you taken your temperature? Do you have a fever? Any noticeable rashes or discolored spots? How many fingers am I holding up right now? That's it I am sending you a doctor...

:P

That is the most optimistic I have ever seen someone be.

Bugs are proof of future features. Wow.

They are working on something awesome, this is a fact. The future of gt is vast areas of real world and probably fictional locations. Vast country sized areas which will become our playground, our canvas to one day do what we like with. This is awesome. Will we get this vision on the ps3, no, but we will get a big taste of the future. I'm happy kaz has vision and isn't busy copying everyone else's homework. My faith in PD is strong, they are the best, they push the genre onwards. Look at redbull in F1, things go wrong but they, like PD will get it right

Umm, how exactly is PD pushing the genre onwards? I haven't seen any groundbreaking ideas in GT6. Actually there is a lot of things missing that might be considered standard in modern racing sims.

Well the vgt cars are a first. I'm talking about the course maker/gps idea. If PD pull it out the bag then thats a revolution. It will be without peer

That is in fact not a factual fact.

I will concede its not a fact if PD come clean and admit they haven't been working on a gps course maker for the last 8 years

Or it could be a half implemented feature with lots of shortcomings, that doesn't really output anything worthwhile. You never know with PD these days.

True and i understand this, but i can't help admire the ambition. If its half implemented that'll do me just fine because it'll be copied and move the genre onwards as i previously suggested. We all are guilty of looking at today, here and now. But i think PD are working on something awesome

Fair point. They obviously have high goals and targets, but it seems apparent that they have not been able deliver those goals and targets for the last two games. We are guilty of looking at today, but that's because today is the future of GT5, and I don't think we are where we expected to be. Hopefully the future is bright, though I suspect it will be in the PS4 era, not the PS3, and I think this may be what PD intended all along - even is Sony didn't.

Your leaps in logic to try to defend PD and Kaz's failures are staggering.

I've been thinking this through over the past week, since the GT7 rumor surfaced, and I think this may well be the scenario. And you have to consider how a developer is going to feel, told they can't work on the shiny new powerbox yet, and have to produce a game on the obsolete system first. This would drive me crazy. I would be constantly be dreaming of the potential results worked out on a pretty speedy octocore processor and 8GB of very fast unified ram.

I watched P CARS videos and thought, 'I want that to be GT7. A lot.' Because if Kaz and the team can focus on making a darn good solid next gen racer, without the Pokemon silliness and a paint shop with no paint, they can make the ultimate racing game.

I've been working on a interstellar shuttle for the last fifteen years. I can't say exactly when it'll be finished, but I'm working damn hard and my passion is second to none. I'm really going to move space travel into the next generation, it'll be amazing. Even if I only half pull it off, everyone will be falling over themselves to copy my brilliant ideas, so whatever the outcome I will be popular, rich, and have swanky woman with capacious bosoms begging me to let them smell my feet.

I'm really looking forward to it.
