PD vs Hackers "Notice of Account Ban Measures"

The ban system they put in place is almost fair. Ban those that get reported. It lets the hybriders play the way they like and lets the anti-hybrid/hacks do as they like. I'm almost happy with it.
Unfortunately there are many anti-hybrid/hack players that take the Christian-like approach and don't think anyone should be allowed to do what they feel is wrong. My lobbies were always marked as 'hacked' yet these evangelists still join and complain/report.

Perhaps we should be proactive and discuss what will work.

Nothing would work for tuning Time Trials, Drift Trials, Public Rooms or Quick Race lobbies, as well as eventual permanent leaderboards. You simply can't create an eqaulised enviroment if somebody can come and use hacked cars.

Complete online portion of the game is permanently endangered becasue I can't never know is someone in my lobby actually using hacked tuning or whatever, not to speak about upcoming Public Matchmaking (Quick Race) and various Community (Club) functionalities.

How would you be sure that everybody is playing fair, within boundaries of the game? You can't. And "trusting" someone that his 550PP are "clean" and not hacked is a bummer.

Unfortunately, only solution would be creating a complete separate portion of online for "hackers" (as Titanfall did). But it is an rare example and one prone to constant management. I welcome online bans of hacked vehicles because they're potential danger to enjoyment of game for all other players.

The PP system is relatively balanced in keeping cars with the same PP around as fast as each other.

Interesting, I think that PD should monitor the situation as such. Get a community manager who can voice our concerns and opinions. Hybriding can have it's place but it needs to be controlled as some are unscrupulous and can hack the system to gain unfair advantages. Let the hacks have their own lobbies, like GTA does with it's special lobbies for special folks minus the dunce caps. I have nothing against hybriding but I do against those who use those cars in normal rooms, as you have an unfair advantage with a car that is not possible for others to have in game.

Arrogant folks don't have much of a code of conduct, it's usually do what they feel is their right. Feelings are a problem and they are not usually a good way to govern anything. You have to draw a line somewhere and everyone has to agree to abide by it, if you do not you are free to go elsewhere. Isn't this how this and many places are governed? Like amar said how can we tell who is running a hacked car? You can't unless it's something glaringly off visually or performance wise. How is that fair to people who do not run hacks and just play the game as is?

Community Manager for GT needs to be found and he needs to be able to speak to PD and vice versa. That would help with a lot of things to start.

It'll be interesting in what happens next. If GT5 is anything to go by, the 'Bad' hackers could unfortunately be back at some point to mess with the set dressing. :scared:

I'd be all for PD having a cheaters pool like GTA. The stanced cruises would be beautiful (as long as the host is active and kicks the idiots in crazy cars). PD is just so, I don't know, OCD?, about people following their rules. Exceptions could definitely be made for modded cars. I don't think banning/ console banning is the right thing to do... Especially since a lot of the things we can do with modding *should* have been in the game in the first place...

Really???? Christian-like approach? (when did that become a bad thing anyways?)

I could just as easily compare those who are for the hacking as some kind of cult that thinks their way is the right way and be damned with what the consequences are to everyone else. I think we should leave such comparisons out of this discussion though as they are completely pointless.

Hopefully this is just a first step for PD as a warning. Ban those accounts that have found to have been hacked. Keep banning them as they show up. Console ban the repeat offenders.

PD/Sony does not want hybridding/ hacking in the game, correct? Grow some stones Sony, ban the console for all online activities. It is a failure to adhere to Sony's end user agreement. End of conversation. Why slap them on the wrist? If you make a console inactive for all online play, you have solved the problem.Don't tell me they cannot do it. If Microsoft can so can Sony.

Is anyone else getting the warning message "A connection to the server could not be established.(ID = 2:11)" followed by it saying you can not go further without signing in to PSN?

Is there supposed to be a maintenance period today or something? Because I didn't hear of one...
I'm getting ID = 1: 6399? Haven't logged in for a few days, no hacks etc?

What? You want a hacked pool, but you want the host to watch the idiots?
Who would be the idiots, the hackers?
It should be in the game? Yeah OK. Great post!.

Imposing one's beliefs to restrict another person's freedoms has always been a bad thing. Especially so when it has no personal effect on you and you think you are doing a good thing.
When? 3rd century CE.
As it applies here? Going into a lobby clearly marked as a hacked lobby with the sole purpose of reporting those players in that lobby.

Hope that answers your question as it was off topic.

Is there a torque steer on Special Stage Route X ?

Torque steer is applied to the car not the track so yes that track and all others.

Farside or JK83 would be able to answer this, but when PD force a loan car on an event, can that be altered too? From what I've gathered you need a donar car to swap parts? Unless you can just FF the turbo like in GT5 etc.

Wasn't sure if the GT Academy cars would be safe from hacking or not given that they will be loaned vehicles.

My biggest worry about this:Children who can't drive reporting players as hackers just for winning.I hope there is some sort of process to check accounts because if my psn account of 5 years gets banned over some 12 year old crybaby,I'm taking my vacation money to go to PD studios and throwing my ps3 through the windsheild of Kaz's Ford Gt

The idiots with 10,000+hp (even 3,000+hp). Yes, not everyone drives those! Unbelievable, right?!
The people who don't want to cruise, but just want to be the fastest one there. Read my post, I obviously said cruise lobbies, and it's pretty obvious who the idiots would be in any cruise lobby, hacked or not.

Edit: I even said the idiots in crazy cars. You should have read my full post.

The one-make cars (loaned cars) have their own database table that are separate from the dealership car tables called GENERIC_CAR. There is no cross over. For a hack to affect one make races it would have to be targeted directly towards that part of the game. The code is also separated. As far as I can tell the specs come from the host. So even if someone hacked the generic car list everyone in the lobby would get the hacked car.

So, those are safe. This applies to on line time trials where there is no choice of car.

So you want 10000 HP stupid cars banned? Do you think everyone thinks Stanced cars are cool or look stupid?
So I get it,you like a hacked Stanced car's, but not a 2/3/4 thousand HP car's. Who cares, you asked for hacking but you don't like it when it doesn't suit you. Like the pot calling the kettle black.

Do you have video with torque steer on Special Stage Route X driving in straight line?
I'm curious to see.

No video (I lost my PS3 component cable for my PVR). But I have cranked it up so all you get is rubber left on the track from the front wheels when you try to turn :)

If PD really wants to stop the hybriding, all they have to do is give us what most people want it for. Engine/drivetrain swaps, wheel size and width options, better suspension tuning for the stance community.

And of course the livery editor... *ducks and runs*
How many Stance video games are out on the market? Go buy one.

I'm pretty sure most people only have issues with the 2/3/4+ thousand hp cars. Especially since stancing makes your cars handle worse. The high hp cars burden people online (mainly because a lot of people who use them don't know how to drive). Give me one way stanced cars burden your online play (aside from the fact that some people think they look stupid).

Edit: I'm done. I'm not arguing with you over this. I know I'm not alone on how I feel on this topic.

Whoa, not so fast there. What is the difference between someone in an ill handling fast car, and you in your ill handling stanced car? Now I'm done.

Have you ever tried to turn a car slammed almost to the ground with a wider chassis and near 10 (if not more) camber going over 100mph? If you think that's easy then try driving my MX-5 (2 ride height, 13 camber in the front, 10 in the back) or my VW 1200 (1 ride height, 8 camber in the front, 12 in the back). Then you tell me the difference.
