Won't that just go down swell!

Jordan should play it safe and ban all members, close and delete all threads, shut down the website and cremate the hard drives, that way we'll all be protected from this hacking atrocity. The mere existence of this site and it's threads are a beacon in the sky to all of those who have never heard of or come across any form of hybriding, all we're doing is spreading awareness and this needs to be nipped in the bud right now. It was nice knowing you all.

To be honest, I wasn't sure if you were being serious or not, especially with some of the crazy posts here. Once I saw that @Jordan liked it, I knew it was safe. :P

Only way to put an actual end to it is for Sony/PD to threaten legal action for violating their various EULA, which is a contract that is agreed to upon use of the console/PSN/game software.

You do realise it is not illegal to violate a EULA don't you?

Personally I have to give PDI a lot of respect for the way they are handling hybrids. They are trying to punish only those that abused the ability to mod the game and at the same time warning those that didn't. Well done PDI.

There aren't words to describe how funny I think this is.
Then why did you post?

Respect for giving a parking ticket to someone caught going 100 km/h over the limit? As has been explained in this thread by the hybriders themselves, this does nothing to stop them from doing anything, just a tiny speedbump.

Yes respect for not going overboard. What is the worst thing that has happened due to hybrids in GT6? Think about it.
Seasonals have not been affected nor has any leaderboards been affected. The absolute worst thing could have been someone lost an on line race to a hybrid just before they kicked the guy with the hybrid.

And it did do something. It lets the hybrid community know they are being watched, hopefully they all view it that way and stay out of lobbies where they are not wanted. And vice versa.

I am all a flutter. Very happy that the integity of online raceing is being defended by PD.

I don’t agree with PSN or console bans – the point, is to keep these freak cars offline and out of racing lobbies.

The hackers are now free to hack whatever frankencar they wish in their banned account.

I am ok with that.

I just tested my CFW PS3 and my hacked GT6 is working just fine.

Moon rover thingy on Spa, Le Mans, Chamonix and Nordschleife is the most joy that this game brought to me.

I've said it once and I will say it again. Hackers need to 🤬 off, they ruined GT5 online even though I had very little time on it.

Actually it was the 12yr olds that built ungodly creations and raced in seasonal. The some what small group in GT6 is doing it respectfully. Such as staying their own lobbies typically.

I haven't had time to read the whole thread. Does this mean that some of the cars in the TT's could be (or could have been) hacked?

Handing down an online ban for usage of illicitly modified game data is pretty much just a slap on the wrist;
PD would be well within their legal rights to prosecute offenders, but they have not.....

There are some who think it is harmless fun, but the the terms and conditions strictly prohibit illicitly modified game data and the usage thereof.

Personally I want to see the game totally hacker free.

Firm but fair, well done PD

Once the GT5 servers are shut down, those 12 year olds will find their way onto GT6 and start doing the same thing. If PD wanted to, they could've sent the reports to Sony and have those players console banned. Maybe it wouldn't have stopped all the hackers since they know how to change their console ID, but it would've slowed them down a bit and maybe some would've stopped. I can tolerate offline hacking for people to get their kicks, however they see fit, but it has no place in the online community. Hacking has the means to ruin all integrity of the racing community and it rests in the hands of people who haven't hit puberty.

As for those who coin the phrase "hybriding": The word hacker has been around a lot longer than the GT series, and "hybriding" is not the only form of hacks for this game. It is not the same thing. Hybriding may be what they do when they alter cars, but getting inaccessible cars, using different cars in a race that does not allow it, or changing credit payouts is called hacking. A square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not a square.

No, they wouldn't be within their rights to do that. Are they are public prosecutors now? And what law has been broken?

What kind of logic is used to come to the conclusion that people who have the skills/abilities to hack games (sometimes to rather complex ends) will be hampered in any way by a ..... gasp...... banned account?
It's hilarious. Even though the hybriders themselves have said this means nothing to them and they'll be right back at it right away, people continue to believe that it actually will do some good:lol:. Talk about grasping at straws:lol:

Hmmmm......last time I checked the box it said "real driving simulator", not "real racing simulator". But neither of those are correct anyway, it's actually the "real rabbit chasing simulator" and I have yet to find any actual racing in the career mode. If you want that you have to go online and DIY.

Are you trying to sell me a line that it's not a racing game and should have "stancing" atributes? Move along...

I agree. Remember the wording is 'illicit' modification (as well as illicit use, which was not mentioned.)

Modification is okay; just modify the cars, not the rules of the game, or the integrity of honourable competition.

I said nothing about "stancing" or whether it should or should not be included in the GT series. Calling it a racing game is a bit of a stretch though, I don't consider having 3-5 laps to force my way from last to first "racing". That's called "chasing the rabbit". In "career" mode there is no qualification, there is no damage, there are no options for length of race or what cars you race against, and other than a select few races there are no standing starts, no pit stops, no fuel wear and no tire wear (and when there is tire wear it's broken). If you want any of that stuff you have to go online and create it yourself, which means once online is dead (which it pretty much is already) the game has virtually no value besides hot lapping and taking photos. So no, this is not a racing game, it's a car driving/photo taking game.

What? I guess your internet must not be working. I race online every night. Dead, well I guess you need to update your friends list.

I do too just about, with friends on my friends list, but it's a shadow of GT5's heyday and it seems most groups are lucky to get 5 or 6 cars on the grid anymore. With the pitstop bugs and constant connection problems, many groups have given up altogether. You can go to public rooms if you want to drive everything on racing soft tires, but I'll pass on that.

Look for a circuit racing room with street cars and a decent level of participation (not 1 or 2 guys hotlapping) on the tires they came with and you'll understand what he's talking about:lol: If you want F1 qualifying tires on your Honda Civic, drag racing, drifting, cruising or some Nascar, sure plenty of that. But the very thing the series was built on, is almost non-existant online.
