PENALTY SYSTEM IS STILL A PIECE OF ****!!!

I'm glad that it's not just me. I only got the game a couple of weeks ago, and whilst getting the hang of the game had got up to a ranking of just under 4,000. Early this week, I assume they changed the system and I was getting red SR's all the time, the vast majority were due to being rammed from behind, and I got a couple of disqualifications. My ranking went to 1. Yes 1. Just 1.

Had to do a couple of races driving like a granny on her way to the shops to get anything back on the board at all.

Simply put in its current form Racing race B this week will ensure you lose SR, a lot. So avoid race b.

Had SR S I don’t know why I stubbornly think it’ll get better. This new track and standing start was a magnet for the worst kind of driver.

One of the reasons I dislike starting behind or ahead of that green and gold flag. Granted, not all green & gold are like that, but it does seem to be the majority, at least in my experience. But until PD implement a banning system, that type of behaviour will never end!

I gave up on NA thanks to them, so yeah.. Like sharks hunting for prey so do they hunt for any kind of contact or ram. Not the mention penalty system completely in favor of that kind of play style.

Edit: lmao, race C, a guy in 86 in front of me who wrecked chaos entire race and took out at least 5 ppl, nudged me off 3 times and reduced me sr, managed to scrape off 5,5s of penalties at finish line 0,4s ahead of me... Time to pack down the wheel lol

I feel so dirty. In the race I did just now I was having a great clean battle for first until a 3rd car dive bombed both of us in T1. The car I was having a good race with fell behind after getting run into the wall and somehow the dirty bomber did not get a penalty.

Then he started dirty blocking, mirroring my every move wobbling sideways over the straights and through T2. Ok, if you act like a child I'll treat you like one. So I started draft bumping him. I gave him another bunch of chances to let me go to his side on the straights, yet he chose to keep blocking, so I kept draft bumping until he poofed, DQ. I got the win and +6 SR for the race. I guess i'm now playing the game the way PD intended

Ugh, forgot to reboot in between races, kicked back to race select screen, karma.

The draft bumping DQ just happened to me. I only got tapped around 5 or 6 times over 5 laps before I got THE warning of DQ. I then got hit into the wall.....and poof....outta the race from 5th place. Another tactic for the gamers out there.

PD should be ashamed of what they've done this week!

Dont take this the wrong way, hopefully take something positive from it. In that clip there where 3 contacts that you could have avoided and one not, the rear end shunt nothing you could do. The T1 incident you definitely took a slow line through, slower than needed, which forced the cars behind inside and the crashed and collected you, the second contact you should have just let off the accelerator its already clear the porshe is out of shape, the third that disqualifies you yet again because your being squeezed you should have let off.

The thing to take away from this is avoid what you can avoid.

When racing hotlapping lines can rarely be used.

I purposely went slower T1 than normal because I was being cautious after being disqalified in the previous race. I noticed the silver Porsche on the left faster than me. Do you reckon there would have been contact if I went right round the outside of T1 at that point anyway, given the Pink Meganes line seems to be going to the outside from the inside at speed?

I wish it let you save a replay after DQ because I use them to learn from my mistakes, and would be able to provide better view from behind where I was.

T2 I was trying to avoid the 2 on the inside, plus the one behind that went through me, the red message of doom didn't help and then noticed the Porsche too late so that was totally on me.

Finally, when I don't use the fastest line I tend to get hit or someone else uses it and goes past me. I can drive a whole race with getting no hits, and come last. Is it even possible to race fast and close in lower SR realms? Maybe I should SR back to S again.

T1 sometimes being cautious isnt the safest, but also T1 on any track you want minimise gaps, if there looks to be an opening to the cars behind 9/10 will go for it, so its a case of holding the bumper in front of you and bossing the line you take. Driving defensively the aim is to compromise your opponents exit speed or track position but likewise if you have lost track position its quicker for you to lift and slot in on your opponents bumper, this can also be achieved by driving a longer distance, or the outside line.

You will definitely have more intuitive racing the higher the SR racing, usually, not always, racing alongside others quickly is difficult, but when it clicks your descions will become automatic.

But dont give up!!

If you get DQ the first time, the next race you start with the warning and one strike your out rule.

At least that's what happened to me. I got draft bumped out of the race in one race, got the warning mid race, and next draft bump DQ. The next race I started with the warning. I made sure stay behind the lead pack so they could not draft bump me, yet then I got cut off by a move that did not make any sense. Car leaving the slipstream into T2 to push me against the outside wall? And I was out again. However that was it, the next race started normally without a warning.

I had another DQ later from people draft bumping too much again, yet the next race it was normal again. Like everything PD does, there's no logic behind it!

I tend to never trust Reddit on those instances. Searching up the K' profiles of their drivers in general always ends up in disapppointment

I haven’t even ventured into Sports Mode races this week because of all the horror stories.

You would hope so. Now I'm getting matched with SR.B the new accounts are showing up. E/B on pole. The 'funny' thing about DR.E is that they can get away with even more. Last race I was in first and got bumped wide of course, yet when he tried to dive me he ghosted. Good solution right? However he kept driving in my car for the last 2 laps only to leave my car to bump me wide in the final turn.

Anyway still stuck around SR.30 despite getting more blue ratings. It just takes a couple draft bumpers to push me down again. At least no more DQ or DR resets. Having the track for a week does help as last Monday was pure destruction derby. It's slightly better now

Yeah just had the same. On maggiore bloke jams on his brakes lap 1 t4 so i nerf him (no problems with a sr drop there) but i didnt get the orange...straight up warning (no previous contacts in race) then further along while tiptoeing behind 2 idiots i slow because they are hitting each other and the dude behind me lightly rubs my rear...boom gone. I wonder if you have a quota for the day as Ive been bluemooning most of it?

I've just spent the last 5 minutes laughing and giggling about the latest DQ. Started 7th in Race B, and after the last DQ I'm now a C/D driver (was high B and a middle C). Anyway, the first 4 laps are non descript....easy racing, no bumps, no penalties anywhere, for anyone, then on lap 5 at turn 1, the racer in 5th position spins out at the exit of turn one, and is 90 degrees heading to the right hand wall, I'm already slowing as I see this happening, I clip their nose as they ghost....a 4 second penalty. I keep on going and I'm now in 6th. 2 laps later, coming into turn 1, 7th position decides to late break on my inside and slams me in to the wall at turn 1...I get a 4 second penalty and a warning that the next contact means DQ. Heading off down the the track in 7th, after losing a place, I am nudged going into turn 3....poof....race over.

Speechless!

Now down to a rating of D/E, 3000/1.

I've lost 13405 DR points in 3 races tonight!!!!

I started the week as a B/B driver, with 18206 DR points.

I knew I shouldn't have continued with Blue Moon after the first day. I did live in hope.....sadly!

Just had the dq warning flash on the screen as soon as i hit the start line lap 1...theres a new one. I was clenching my cheeks tight the first few corners knowing any contact, my fault or otherwise Id be turfed. Anyways pitted lap 3 from 4th as 2 and 3 were bouncing off each other...and finished p2 not a scratch.

Ugh. I had the same crap happen in my last race last night. Ended up with 10 sec penalties from getting tapped by a spin out (in my rear bumper) rammed in T2 from a car messing up the turn in (coming from the infield), brake checked by someone serving a penalty in the middle of the pack on the straight, and bumped into another car (by that same dirty driver) that then scraped the wall. I didn't get DQ, however I left the race at SR.15 32K DR hanging by a thread, 1 less SR and it's gone!

Reading this I have little hope I will complete the challenge I set for myself this week, getting back to SR.S on race B alone. There's no passing through SR.B as that's where the bump drafting starts. Plus it only takes one dirty or laggy driver to ruin the progress made by 4 or more clean races...

I haven't won as many races in a long time though, there's always a silver lining. And it's never boring, just don't value your DR :/
