Sorry, but the Forza 3 demo is final, gold code.

You sure they arn't going to fix the 'stuck in the ground' glitch? Theres so many vids on youtube of it. They will most likely patch that problem upon release.

Aside from that, the game is what you would expect of a game. Look at all the bugs/glitches in Shift. In comparison, Forza has reached perfection.

I just noticed this:
One thing I think GT5P deserves credit for is it's the only racing game where you can hear other cars on the track. You can race round Suzuka and tell that there's a Ferrari right behind you and moving to overtake just by the engine sounds alone, and that is awesome 👍

Do you play many racing games? I mean, PGR does it. Forza does it. LFS does it. Shift does it. Grid does it. Which games don't do it?

Also, Ayrton Senna Grand Prix has terrible physics! He's not even taking the correct racing line around corners! And the tire squeal is almost as bad as GT. :P

Out of those games I own PGR4 (had 3 too), Forza 2, Forza 3 demo, Shift and GRID. I stand by my comment. No idea about Live For Speed since I don't own it.

Tapey,

Do you have a proper surround sound setup? Perhaps you have something wrong with your volumes. It's been a long time since I've played a game that didn't have positional audio from other cars. I remember the roar of cars on the other side of the concrete barrier in PGR city tracks to be especially good!

Well now, if you're going to single out a post where I was going after a previous post I thought was a bit ridiculous, and say that's my attitude towards Forza, is that fair? Would you like it if someone culled all of your grouch posts and indicated that you said nothing worthwhile on the boards? And yeah, I know, one guy did say that. Taste good? ;)

In Forza 2, I would have agreed, but I can not agree that Forza 3's AI drives like teenagers. They give too much room if you push for it. I've cut off the Corvette only to see him actually brake to avoid from hitting me. I've seen the Genesis run wide when I do so I don't rub against him. I've even seen the AI go 3 wide with me into a turn, all 3 of us avoiding each other.
Well, I've actually seen that in Forza 2 as well. But what I mostly see in the demo are bots braking way too early and way too hard, and clogging turns, with all of seven cars. Maybe that's enlightened A.I. to you... but come to think of it, I hated how I had to plow through cars clogging chicanes in GTR... GAH.

As you said, Turn10's tire sounds aren't great either, but PD hasn't had a clean record either with its banshee-like tires.
You know, I think tire sounds must be as much a matter of taste. Once again, as I was browsing the boards a while ago, a car squealed to a stop at the rather risky intersection near my home. And it was definitely a squeal, even more shrill than in Prologue. The funny thing?

It was a big car like a Buick.

Well, that is your opinion. You have to learn to accept the fact that not everyone agrees with your opinion. Many of us find it look very realistic looking, not plastic or CG. We don't see any need to get used to something so beautiful. Just like we don't need to get used to GT being so beautiful.
I suppose the thing that would make you happy is for Forza fans to make comments, and the rest of us prostrate ourselves before them. ;)

One thing though, you'd better have a hard drive to experience all the content, because a number of major tracks and cars are on that second DVD, including a brand new and super accurate Nurburgring Nordschleife. Cough. ;)
A NUMBER? There are 3 tracks. It's 1.9gb of content.

I guess you don't care much for cars...

"Going gold" doesn't have the same meaning as it used to, now that all the consoles (even wii, I think?) have patching facilities. Major engine or graphics updates are unlikely, but look the changes at Prologue from spec 1 to spec 3. DLC can change everything!

That game is about 25 years old now, of course it has terrible physics, but back then that was a great game so I've heard from seniors.

24 Hour Lemans had some great sound... also I am pretty sure I heard cars creeping up on my in RalliSport Challenge...

Does it matter though. The Forza 3 demo had a million bugs. That probably means the the full game has a billion cockroaches. I hear Forza 2 had bed bug problems as well

With the game so close to release I doubt there is much they can do or change

Major things such as graphics won't change from the demo to the final game, but bugs will most defientely get ironed out with updates and patches on release day or soon after.

No, it doesn't. Stop being naive.

Sorry man, I forgot the sarcasm tags on that post. Maybe next time. In other news, your avatar is a sexy sexy beast.

This is just for one track and a limited amount of cars

And this one is for Develander who thinks GT AI is the only AI that hits stationary cars

A few of those videos result from the same issue.

#8 also isn't a glitch. Like a tool, you don't know that the player is controlling that. It was created for people like you to make the physics look bad.

So, I only count 5 glitches, which is about equal to the number of GT5:P glitches I've see on Youtube. And by that count, I'm guessing GT5 is going to have a million glitches as well.

With the time they have spent on GT5, I highly doubt that.

While I am not necessarily saying it's programmed this way, it seems far more forgiveable for once car to clip another while cresting a high speed corner with it's view somewhat blocked by car in front of it.

BTW this still doesn't hold a candle to the video we saw of GT5 cars driving through a stationary car over and over. I would like to see how Forza AI handles getting into someone full on tbone and coming to a stop. As we saw, GT handled it by accelerating unrelentingly until they basically drove through the other car. ;)

With the time they have spent on GT5, I highly doubt that.

With the time spent on GT5 any glitches will be pretty embarassing.

👍
My biggest concern is the new collision physics (actual physics, not visiable damage). From what I have seen its heading in the right direction but still has much time for improvement.

Games will always have glitches no matter how long they take to develope.

You can't expect it to be perfect. GT5 will probably still have some glitches, but they probably wont be as frequent.

PD would have nothing to embarrassed about IMO unless it was a ridculously major glitch. In my 12 years of playing GT I can honestly say they have the least glitches out of all the racing games I've played. I don't see GT5 breaking the trend.

No. It. Is. Not.

The demo would have been sent into certification a full month before the game was.

Alot does happen in a month.

Well they did state that what you saw in the demo was pretty much the final game.

pretty much and is are two different things.

They will also release patches, and support after the game has been released. But Fry is right, the final release will be different from the demo (though probably not by a whole lot) and then it will continue to change after it's released.

It's still better than the lack of patience and self control to release a game that has enough content to warrant a 60 dollar price tag. That's my main complaint against Forza. They stick enough content in there to keep people occupied for a while, then they do the same thing a year and a half later, charging you another 60 bucks. Then again ANOTHER year and a half later, charging you 60 bucks again! It's rediculous!

What things have been confirmed to differ from the demo to the final release? Because I didn't think the demo was that bad. Just curious to what they feel needed to be improved.

And of course it will change in some aspect after release as most games this gen get some sort of support in terms of a patch or update following the release.
