I think I know why it looks like that. The shadows under the car are too light.
Probably?

Just put the contrast on your TV 100%
No that is not the reason why, even Forza 2 has a float feel. Shadows has nothing to do with the car looking like its ice skating.

No seriously, I know what I'm talking about... I have done art academy, and when I draw a car it looks to be floating until I have a decent shadow drawn under it.

Ofcourse there may be other factors that can indicate that (like feel) but I think this is the most prominent one.

I just told you I have played it on my TV LIVE in front of me, and have not seen floating 💡
And what part do you not understand , when i said that i played the demo ON ELECTRONIC DEVICE CALLED A TV?
A
nd cars act like they are floaty, I am not the only person who feels this way. Especially when you have ppl at TOP GEAR saying that cars in Forza 3, feel like they are a magic carpet, it only makes me want to laugh. Magic carpet is kinda of harsh.

Ok, so they float for you and not for me. Glad we got that cleared up. I am glad I got the better demo version than you.

Reviews are too high these days IMO. NFS Shift had a 9 and I was left dissapointed. :(

I'm not saying this on Forza's behalf, but just in general. Alot of scores are just too high IMO, like GTA IV too...

SHIFT has an 84% which is about what it deserves IMO.

I think it has the best cockpit experience of any racing game I've ever played. It's white knuckled racing and really pumps you up. But everything else is pretty lackluster. I stopped playing after I beat tier 4 and haven't touched it since.

While I am not a big fan of Shift, the cockpit experience is the best on console to date, no question.

Well not just for me, and also agree with this person. And that is why it feels arcadey to me. http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/top-gear-forza-3?imageNo=7

"When things go a bit pear-shaped, the impacts feel nice and solid. But strangely enough, when things are going smoothly, it can feel a bit too, well, smooth. It almost feels like you're driving some kind of magic carpet, hovering just above the track itself. A real feeling of movement and feedback is difficult for a game to accurately create, admittedly, but we couldn't help but feel slightly detached."

Not it's not floaty. They have clearly put A LOT of work into the tire physics and it shows. You can completely feel it. It may very well have more advanced tire physics than GT 5 will have.

Ok, sounds good. Sorry to hear that. I am glad I and others don't have to worry about it though.

Wow we get more and more FM fighters here...

Actually, I think there seems to be more and more people who enjoy both sim racers.

So that's what the Top Gear webmaster thinks.

You can't count Top Gear as a credible source regarding Forza. Polyphony and Top Gear clearly have some business deals going on. It's a conflict of interests.

That quote is also months old and not part of any review.

The actual reviews I've seen have nothing but glowing praise for the games Physics, handling and overall.

Oh lord, now you think its some conspiracy at Top Gear? And why cant I count Top Gear as a crediable source, but you use Game the review scores that Forza 3 is getting. But forget that person reviewing the game , does not get to test out real cars like Zonda etc. I rather believe a car enthusiast site, over a gamer who probably never touched a Zonda in his life.

Top gears review is probably the most credible if you're gonna question credibility. Top gear review cars, REAL cars. IGN review games, and the reviewers have probably never taken a supercar to the limit before to know how it should react, let alone knowing if the tyre physics are accurate (unless said IGN review has a physics degree in that department)

Top Gear doesn't know how to play video games that well though. I much prefer reviews from racing sim websites that having real life racing fans that are also pro race gamers. Those I tend to trust the most.

Totally agree with you, my expierience was exactly thesame.

(I meant the IGN score ;))

If it's a simulator they dont need to know how to play video games. Especially if they were using a wheel (which I think they were)

LMAO, how do you know this ? You make it look like, Top Gear is a bunch of old ppl working there. But yah, i cant stop laughing, I cant belive this was your reply to the reason of Top Gears thoughts about Forza 3.

It's not a conspiracy it's a conflict of interests. Polyphony has no doubt paid Top Gear good money to put the test track in it's game.

The person who wrote that article is James Shovlin, a freelance writer and there's no indication he drives around in Zonda's

Here's his webpage.....

You present that quote as though you believe Jeremy Clarkson or the STIG wrote it.

LOL...these games drive NOTHING like real life cars and race cars. Now THAT is the funniest thing I have ever read. If you can drive real cars, you can do racing sims. If you you can do racing sims, I suppose you can race real cars.

👍

No. I never said if you could drive a simulator you can drive a race car. Although vice versa shouldnt be a problem. First time i played GT5:P was with a wheel and I'm pretty sure I did know what the steering wheel did and what the peddles did and how the car should've reacted solely by knowing how to drive a real car..

Has anyone read the C&VG review of Forza 3. At the end it says "Still doesn't look as good as GT".

Ouch :P

It's simply the truth. Forza 3 is a gorgeous game but it can't touch GT's photorealism.

There are A LOT of good things being said about Forza in those reviews and graphics are only one category.

Lmao , I do not know who is funnier, you or bogie. For starters, if you think that PD paid off Top Gear for a bad review on Forza 3, then yes, you think is a conspiracy. To say its a conflict of interest points to that.

And just because the person who wrote the article is a freelancer writer, wouldnt you not think that Top Gear hired him, because he have experience with cars and track time?

Do you honestly think they are going to hire some average joe off the the streets to write for them?

Like I said earlier, I do not know who makes me laugh more, you or Bogie.

MMMM HMMM.

Theres alot of time left for you to talk guys, i suggest you get it all off your chest(you know who im talking to).

Judgement day is not far.

It is a conflict of interests. And yes, Top Gear did hire some average "joe" off the street... Who happens to be a freelance writer.

And as I said, there's no indication he drives around in Zondas. Infact I'm gonna go ahead and say in all likely hood he's never touched a Zonda in his life. He wasn't paid to write that article because he's a race car driver. He was paid because he's a writer.

You laugh a lot but I don't see what's funny, other than you who didn't check your facts first and started parading that quote around like you think the STIG wrote it.
