Yeah please upload the videos A-sap
Keep an eye on the news blog, I've been supplied some Enzo damage footage that will be up in the next few hours. It's nothing over-the-top, but it is interesting.

I might do later in the week, they're in Jordan's hands for the mo, wanna see what he makes of them first and wait and see if they're good enough for the front page! Any that don't make it, I'll whack in this thread. Bare in mind that each ~2min video is around 140mb though as they're HD, so take an age to upload to YouTube etc. Isn't an easy task!

At UK upload speeds I understand and Jordan's got it covered 👍

I'd have gone, but I'd not have got back before Monday and my wife would have murdered me to death.

OMG not to death

Alright ,Thanks Jordan.👍

Thanks mate.

I went to this event today and I normally play with a Logitech Driving Force Pro and the new Logitech Driving Force GT wheel is soo much better - it felt like driving a real car - so smooth and silky when winding on and off lock.

The physics of the cars felt very much like the acadamy demo we had recently and although the graphics do look the best for any driving game, when you come back from looking at Kill Zone 3 and then look at GT5 it looks very good now but not jaw droppingly good like when GT 5 Prologue first came out but I suppose thats because we get used to 'the new standard' very quickly. (It still looks beautifull though!!!)The day to night transition on the Tuscany circuit is fantastic though and then whilst it is night it does look awsome whilst playing- this will be great on city tracks I reckon.

The tyre smoke looks good too, but disapears too quickly.

3D. The 3d vsion is amazing - when driving the Spanish/Madrid? circuit you can really look into the distance and it seems like the screen goes into the distance - subtle but really effective.

Handling: Once the back end goes though it's very hard, almost impossible to recover from it - you dial on some opposit lock and then the back end just snaps back the otherway, far too fast to catch.

You only had about two minutes of play time before the game resets and because there was loud music playing you could hardly hear the engine sounds and the one pod whith the wheel the speakers were duff as they were proper cracking and farting!!

Can't wait to get this in the comfort of my own home and crank my speakers up and really delve into it.

The biggest thing I came back with was the fact that I need to buy that Logitech wheel it was amazing!!

Too little time to really get a good impression and nothing really new to blow me away.

Roll on November for when we get the full works, not long to go now..

I noticed that about halfway through the last video, as the game prepares a rolling start on the 'ring, dust is kicked up, but is not blown away by wind. However, in another video from this same event, the dust kicked up in the same place is blown away by wind (check the general discussion thread). This looks like confirmation of variable wind at the very least. The question remains, however, variable according to what? Is it randomized, or could it be based on weather updates as has been speculated before?

didnt that citroen concept only have one gear in prologue? which was D. its a manual 6 speed in one of those vids now

no windy dust action at the start scene at the nurb either

The Citroen in Prologue has a fictional engine etc. the one in the GT5 demo is based on the real thing, with the 500hp V8 engine.

The speakers on the pods were not good, couldnt really hear the sounds.

Just got back though, wow, great event, GT5 is simply superb! There can be no doubting any of it.
The rallying is very different to GT4, a lot harder, you have to really fight the car, but it doesnt really feel like its on ice. Lots of understeer from the C4 though. The madrid track is wonderful, great layout and really really fun to drive.
However, for me, the Gallardo on the Nurburgring (albeit the first 2 minutes of the ring) was the most fun, such a great car to drive and the overall improvements to the look and feel of the ring are excellent, the textures are super real!
Tried it in 3D, not sold on it, appeared to only be 30fps to the 2D's 60fps, was quite cool though.
Was also nice to bump in to a few other fellow GTP'ers, recognisable by GTP stickers on the sleeves of which I became a proud owner of:D

great!what about damage, did you see some thing?

Didn't see much in a way of damage, I did see someone spin the R8 on the Nurburgring into the wall and the rear bumper was hanging off the car, also saw someone hit the ZR1 vette and it deformed the back of the car quite nicely.

To answer some questions;

The demo was great, in 3D I noticed a few (I think) bits of bumper/debris flying out towards the camera. The 3D effect was very subtle but in-car was great! The 'ring was indeed very hard to drive and a lot of people were spinning. I noticed bumpers hanging off and the like. The rally stage however there were doors hanging open and the dust effects and headlight effect were simply amazing! :dopey:

Couldn't hear any sounds unfortunately :( Very loud in there with music and most TVs were turned down.

As you could see there were 5 tracks on the demo and if I'm honest the loading times didn't feel overly long! I did however notice some trees and scenery didn't properly load and my wingmirror went through a wall on a tight corner in Rome. A few glitches/bugs here and there such as those 2 which should be ironed out before release but overall the game felt solid with the handling spot on imo! Roll on November :D

Oh, one other thing, the lighting/shadow effects were brilliant 👍

Any questions feel free to ask, I tried to take in as much as possible but I may have missed some stuff :(

I was there (Orange coat) and I thought it was great!

Things I noticed
1) The nurb is more realistic in regards to the track feels thinner and the bumps really catch you out.
2) Rally is much more fluid and in my opinion feels more like driving a 4 wheel drive on a low friction surface
3) 3D is not ready yet. (If you tilt your head the 3D effect stops working and their were some major glitches in the graphics still)
4) When 3D has been finished I WANT IT! the depth of field in the cockpit view was awsome but the ability to judge the distance between other cars and breaking points really helps the realism.
5) That SLS on pro physics with everything off on the Nurb is a pig to drive with a pad, I need to get practising!

👍

Ahhhhh i am so jealous of you guys  What Im hearing in this thread has me even more thirsty about GT5 Bring on November.

That's 3D! You have to have your head level :(

Went to the event today. Game was awesome as usual. Tried all the circuits, loved the new physics system. The rally stage was better than I expected, looked georgeus and handles very well surprisingly. Managed to get replay footage of the rally stage and some footage of an Audi R8 damaged. My battery on my camera died as I unfortunatly forgot to charge it so I didn't get any nascar footage which was the best car there as it had full deformation damage!!! I threw he car into the wall and the whole side of the car crumpled. I reversed into the wall and the rear bumper not only hung off but it deformed completley. It was awesome to see damage which I personally have never seen in a GT game. Hopefully someone recorded some nascar damage footage.
Can anyone else who visited the show confirm this please??

So no headtracking and I notice that the Nurburgring track was the old version with new effects.

If you want to guys how about using the below to allow people here to get an idea on your own thoughts and impressions.

Anyone want to give their scores/answers on the 1-8 below?
Give your scores in 1-10 and YES/NO were applicable. As audio was aparently hard to hear maybe best to leave it out.

1. Graphics
2. Handling
3. FFB
4. Day to night cycle
5. Sense of Speed
6. How good was the 3DTV version
7. Did graphics in 3DTV mode appear more jaggied YES/NO
8. Noticable framerate difference between 3D/2D version YES/NO

Yeah this is a factor with LED 3DTVs not the game.
3DTV Plasma models like the Samsung & Panasonic aparently do not suffer with this .

Also reports on 3D LED TV's including the Sony models are that they have more noticable "Crosstalk" which looks a bit like an after image effect similar to TFT trailing/ghosting.
Some of you maybe noticed this as well?

I would love to see this too!!

some good information coming out of these events, i cant wait to go to eurogamer later this year.

I couldn't get any footage of the nascar as it was at the very end of the show and my battery ran out but I can tell you that as I hit the rear bumper on the wall the car didn't just have a dangling rear bumper but the back actually deformed like in the GT5 damage trailer. The side of the car also deformed. For some reason I never realised to try damaging the nascar car or even trying it. Hopefully someone else tried to damage the nascar as well.
