^ I agree, that wobble would drive me nuts and its just lazy poor quality... people shouldn't tolerate it. Seriously, how hard can it be to make something the sits on a surface?!

I totally agree with you, the PS4 is not a big leap and the clue is in the price.

The jump from PS2 to PS3 was huge, the PS4 is equivalent to a mid range gaming pc and its a result of a post recession world and an industry that's in decline. Sony didn't spend $840 per console this time!

I wish it was a $600 retail console, because then you know it would be amazing.
A mid range gaming PC is a huge leap over a ps3. I'm not sure if you play PC games but for the last few years even at low settings games have looked much better then on console. Bf4 on PC at low settings is leaps and bounds better then bf4 on the ps3 or 360.

I'm guessing People who don't game on PC are going to be surprised at how good the new consoles look.

@iMikeTheKing

Just bad when the internet is lying (or shall I say Mike?).

The PS4 doesn't really have a wobbling issue, it's simply how they're designed.

EDIT: Sure, now you could say it's a design flaw...

If your talking about the Broken PS4 they are from the winners of the Taco Bell giveaway. All but one guys had an issue. Kotaku's PS4 Broke and they said it in there article if you read it.

If your talking about the wobble I will quote this.
The reason for the teetering motion is attributed to the placement of rubber feet on the underside of the console, since one fin runs down the center and causes the unit to be unbalanced on a flat surface.

I posted both gifs of it wobbling. One showed the issue the other fixed it (from the video you linked). It's only an issue if it bothers you but I was planning on placing my xbox one on top of my ps4 (as long as it does not crush it) but now I won't do that.

In what way did I lie?

Are you saying every Taco Bell winner has had issues with their PS4's except one person? Because that's not true.

I guess I should not have said all but at least 5 of them had issues and that is coming from one of the taco bell winners who said he talked to the winners. I believe it was on his twitch but I don't have his name.

Go play your XBox,sorry that's next week.

Taco Bell gave away almost 4000 of them. If were only hearing of a few broken ones then that's not bad at all.

I actually knew you would call me a fanboy because I posted something negative about the PS4.

I just realized the mistake I made. I rushed the reply without remembering how many were actually won. It's good number but I hope there are not more. We only know of 5 and it all seems to be an issue related to the HDMI (Excluding the Twitch Guy).

I disagree. The main reason the PS3 was so expensive at launch was because of the built in Bluray player. Bluray tech was still very expensive at the time of launch. Even your average Bluray player was close to the price of a PS3.

OK so it's not sitting flat, big deal who is going to push on it anyway? Never called you a fan boy, don't worry in 8 hours I'll tell you all about it

I take it you haven't seen these pictures?

The Xbone is massive compared to the PS4.

Xbox One has air vents on the top and after RROD I won't be putting anything on top of the Xbox. My desk has no room for both and that is the only place I have for it.

A few people are saying they arent impressed and pc's have better graphics better yadda yadda yadda but one thing im more looking forward to is bigger scale games with better graphics and lighting, Imagine GTAV with the best possible graphics etc

My order shipped:D:D:D

Expected delivery Saturday Nov 16th:banghead::banghead::banghead:

WTH Amazon? I went with you for convience and that is not convient for me. I hope the estimate is off and it will arrive tomorrow otherwise I will be upset. I will be having a conversation with customer service when I get off work tonight.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but about the monthly free games on PS+... Will we be able to 'claim' them without owning a PS4, so that when we get one we can download them? This month we get Resogun, but I'm not intending to get a PS4 until at least March.

Yup, you can get those games. I believe it's done through the web store but will look for a link. I assume those games will be in Plus for a while though .

Really? On another forum alot of Amazon guys are starting to get theirs right now. Thats crap if they make you wait until Saturday and some people are getting them a day early. I'd want a free game in return or something.

I haven't really played PC games since I bought a PS2 then PS3. Yes a mid range PC today is of course going to be better than a 7 year old console, but why should a brand new console only equal it?

When the PS2 came out it was possibly the most powerful thing in a home and even the 360 and PS3 came close to being as powerful as high end gaming rigs at launch. These new consoles are easily beaten by top end rigs and even by a well picked 'i5' build.

But that's the nature of the world we live in now where little app's you play on a bus make millions and millions, its a shame that the traditional gaming has started to take a back seat.

The CELL, RSX and the exotic XDR RAM were just as expensive and they made the difference in giving it such great performance. It was a quality piece of kit all round, no expensive spared.

@Robin. There was no way the PS4 was going to have anything close to a Titan. It was going to get outclassed and labeled "midrange" unless they sold it for $700 with a Titan inside.

And in the long or even short run does it matter? PCs were going to leave the PS4 in the dust anyway. PS4 represents a significant leap over PS3, and thats all that really matters.

No one would pay what it would cost to make a console out do a high end PC. No one is going to pay $1000 for a console and the console makers would probably still be taking a loss.

You can put 4 graphics cards in a computer and many many people run 2 $400 cards alone. Consoles will never compare to that.

When your talking mid range PC that can run medium settings on new AAA games your close to the $800 range to run them at 1080 and a steady 60fps with 2 or 4x AA.

It looks like the ps4 has some decent AA running.

That's what they should have done, put a Titan equivalent in it ($900 manufacture cost) and sell it for $700, sadly its not possible to do these things any more because no ones got any money! I feel consoles should be the most powerful thing or at least near to the most powerful thing at launch. It's not that the PS4 is bad, its just its a shame could have been so much more.

A good comparison is F1, because of costs we are no longer really seeing the pinnacle of engineering excellence and performance in motorsport.

People said Sony were insane when they announced the 60GB PS3 would retail at $599 USD and many people didn't buy the system because of it. They'd truly be insane if they made a console and priced it at $700 after the PS3 fiasco.

Back in the day though it was all about the massive graphical leap, and it has been until this generation where I guess they feel they can get an acceptable improvement in graphics without massive leaps in hardware. Things have changed a lot in general too, my mate has the full game of Grand Theft Auto : Vice City on his phone (iphone 4?).

The graphical quality on the PS4 really is something special even by the PC standards, the quality of the graphics on the new Killzone title rival Crysis 3 on the PC, and I think we will see a lot of PS4 exclusives doing that for a while. PC is obviously still ahead but I think what they can do with the exclusives on the PS4 will be amazing.

The issue with PC games is that they are essencially waiting on the console market to catch up in order for much higher graphical quality games to be released, since pretty much every big budget flashy graphics game is multi platform. But even considering that, if you look at games with amazing visuals like Crysis 3 they are able to cripple the best of modern PC's for only a very small improvement in visual quality. Processor performance in games hasn't made any difference for 2 years (the 2500k/2600k are within 1% of the current best processors) and the most PC's (even top gaming ones) are still using the same DDR3 1600 (though faster is available many motherboard don't support those speeds) as the last few years. Graphics cards have seen no big leap in the last few years either, relatively small improvements.. Small enough that the processors of 2-3 years ago are still sufficient enough that the graphics card is still the bottleneck for most games.

At the moment you need a certain level of computer to play games at a very nice quality, after that you're throwing money at it to run the games on slightly higher settings, slightly better particles/shadows and AA settings. Often enough tiny improvements. The limitation is at the development point, rather than on the hardware.

Xbox one is obviously a lot less powerful, and is already struggling (I imagine they will get the hang of it and optimisation will improve) but based on Killzone atleast graphically I'd say the PS4 exclusives can definitely hold it's own against the PC. Since the main graphical difference is no longer about the higher resolution/textures, those differences are now much smaller.

And I'm saying that knowing full well that the PS4 is like a mid range, very average PC. That's all you really need if you have the developer tools in your hand, it makes more of a difference than being able to bump up a few settings that cut your FPS in half (and as such need very high end hardware).

Its the rational decision for the world today, its just a shame its not a beast of a machine.

In the boom years people were pretty happy to drop cash or get easy credit to buy more expensive stuff, the PS2 wasn't exactly cheap and works out at about $400 in today's money. More than the PS4.

They were comparable in the past with high end PC technology of the time.

Even a Titan really isn't the highest you can go with a PC. My PC is more powerful than using a Titan and I still can't max out all games.

Why not just go the PC route if your wanting to see what the best there is out there.

If your willing to spend $700 on a console just build a PC and see how great games can look.

To make a console as powerful like your wanting if would end up being around $1500 or so to the consumer. That's not gonna happen.
