So im looking to maybe get a PS4 sometime this year, im saving up to get one and ive had a look around online at places like Game and Argos and all they seem to sell is the 500 gb ones...is that all Sony have at the moment? because that's a bit to much memory for me I don't need all that, and if that is all they do will they release smaller memory ones like 250 gig versions in the future?
You need 500gb. Games are up to 50gb each and must be installed in the hdd. That 500gb goes pretty quickly. A 250gb one would only give you about 150 usable and that would only hold 3 or 4 AAA games at a time.

It's not like with the ps3, you actually use a lot of memory in the new consoles.

Why are people so concerned about how they look with VR glasses? You wont be strolling down the street with them on will you?

I would like to ask about this, are we expecting PS3 levels of improvment over the years, or a bit less since the PS4 structure makes it easier to code for?

I think the differences between the PS3 and PS4 will equal themselves out. So in the end the jump in graphics over the years will be similar.

The PS4 is easier to develop for, that will help developers squeeze more out of the system over time. But take a look at GT6. PD had 7-8 years to work with the PS3 and the game still had graphical issues in the end.

Also the Xbox consoles have always been more simple to develop for then the Playstations, but didnt they show a similar improvement in visuals over each generation?

And one more thing...the PS4 may be easier to develop for then in the past, but its still very much unique. Slightly Mad (Project Cars) has said it isnt the easiest thing to develop the game for 8 core next gen consoles.

Before its all said and done I expect somebody to achieve 'Dark Sorcerer' quality visuals ingame.

Which is why VR will likely also be a flop, if you can't get to world to wear 3D glasses how to do expect to get people to wear what looks like a Suba mask with duct tape on it!
Oculus looks like a scuba mask, Morpheus not so much.

I'm already more than satisfied with visuals the levels of Killzone and Second son, so anything else for me is pretty much a bonus.

thanks for answering by the way, future looks very promising indeed 👍

All I need from game visuals are no aliasing/jaggies, no low quality/low res assets anywhere, and a steady framerate.

Yes, I think the future is promising as well. We still havent seen the best looking PS3 franchises running on PS4 yet. Uncharted, Gran Turismo, etc.

A friend of mine got a PS4 and yesterday we played a few hours of FIFA 14, limited time as it is one thing I loved was that controller. Brilliant piece of kit.

Am I missing something? Most people are talking about being able to see your friends' come online and changing your tags? :odd:

Who cares about 3D! 3D is dead.Go play Xbox.
I guess when you live under a rock, yes 3d is dead to you. To the rest of us with a proper 3d setup, it is far from dead. It is actually quite an incredible experience that comes out with most movies that are released these days.

Not sure where your xbox comment came from since the PS3 currently has 3d. Sounds like a comment from some sort of angry xbox hater. A few more comments like that and it will clearly be easier to place someone like you onto my ignore list.

Really? Bro I can update your no 3D comments for you if you want. They are making a headset, correct? Fat chance of seeing 3D.Sorry you own one.
Here read up.

Interesting. My searches seem to result in 3d not dead at all. See how easy it is to make accusations? Anyone can just google search dead 3d or not dead 3d.

If it was actually dead, there would not be any more movies or games with 3d. While it is not an enormous market, its far from dead.

In fact GT6 just added 3d in the recent 1.06 update (which I did indeed play in 3d). If 3d was dead, PD would not have wasted their time with it.

When they quit making brand new movies in 3d, brand new games in 3d, and quit selling 3d tvs, then yes it is dead. Until then, its still alive. Eventually 3d will come to the new consoles, just hoping its by the end of 2014.

Also you never explained your xbox comment. Not that it matters. We can just agree to disagree and move on.

I picked up Octodad this week and it is worth the purchase. Co-op, both players using move, with roulette mode turned on is hilarious. Check it out.

Edit: I care about 3D also.

The VR headsets are 3D. I've never been interested in 3D at all but with the VR headsets it works great. For sony to release the Morpheus they probably will have to enable 3D support. Unless there's some tech I don't understand with the headsets the console and game will have to support 3D. I can see the oculus rift and Morpheus bringing 3D to a consumer level higher then it's ever been.

From my understanding VR isn't 3D in the same sense as stereoscopic 3D tv's. I believe because each eye gets a screen from its own perspective the two image appear to get depth, just like how we perceive depth normally. Someone could correct me on that.

No interest on 3D on my end, having more pressing issues to it, to list a few:

>No external media support.
>No PS3 like functionalities (using PS3's HD to back up Vita game is good, lacking this feature on the PS4 is wasteful resources).
>No proper browser or apps (no Flash player to it's browser, having all that tech, even the PS3 has Flash player plugin).
>Lack of extra features for peripherals (disabling that stupid light in the PS4 controller for example, I can do that on PC but not on the PS4).
>Backwards compatibility, which seems to be coming, but at least let me play my PS1 and PS2 games dammit, PC emulation totally sucks.
>Green lighting some games for US territories, like War Thunder for example.

Among others, 3D is a gimmick that is leaving the scene, I played the Glorified Killzone 3 on 3D and all it did is make the game look like papercuts, it works better on cinema but not in gaming.

I'm still doubtful about VR, but 3D in a home setup is redundant, some actual picture quality is lost for the sake of supporting it, and I rather have more accurate refresh rates and less input lag given the amount of data that new system will have to display.
