Yes in another article it said the PS3 originally retailed for the equivalent of $650 in Japan, $50 more than in the US. That's why I think if these prices are true for Japan ($428+) it would probably retail for $400 in the US, around £300 in the UK with VAT etc.

If 400$ for US then it's 400 Euro for Europe. That's sucks, that's really pricey.

Japanese regularly get shafted on things (and Americans usually get the best deal), so...

Very true. I was surprised at how much gamers here are getting the muddy end of the stick. Even on Japanese games.

$400 is about $200 less than I was expecting. I figured (hoping I'm wrong) $600 was the new console price kind of like how $60 is the new game price  If it's just $400 I'll pre-order that bad boy as soon as humanly possible.

PS3 was 600 (60GB model), so I was expecting a price like this too.
We will see, also how many different versions they will release.

Japaneese newssite Kyodo is saying PS4 will be for sale this year. They also say it will use the cloudbased Gaikai service too. (this is a translation from Swedish newsagency quoting Kyodo)

My thought: If they sell it cheaper (400euro instead of 600) then they will want to get money through subscriptions. If they make it harder to buy/sell games on the 2nd market then they can do this. As i understand MS and Sony want to make it hard or impossible to sell games.

Well ill buy new ps4 only when either ridger racer or wipeout will be launch titles 👍 GT6 would have to be equipped with changed physics, + realistic visual and physical damage. Either it's not wort to buy same GT5 upscaled version called GT6.

Something has do change like between ps2 and ps3 we saw switch from standard resolution into HD which is awesome and + full free on line play + Wireless controllers + blue ray player.

It's a lot to expect from ps4 don't you think? Remember when ps2 was announced and sony said that you buying not only game console but also DVD player. AWESOME !!!

With ps3 you buying not only game console but also Blue Ray player + wireless Dual Shock which was step up from Dual Shock 2, and also playstation network was introduced.

Well knowing that i have no idea what to expect from ps4 :scared:

Yet you expect Ridge Racer to be drastically different than any of it's previous releases? :odd:

Ridge Racer done died off in my eyes after RRV. If it's decided that another ridge racer's going to be released as a launch title, it better be a remastered version of R4.

With PS4 they'll introduce the prohibition of 2nd market.
And they'll also give you a tube of vaseline.

According to Microsoft and Sony crap heads you all should be happy.

According to an article in a japanese newspaper, the next PS will have a touchpad, a share button to connect to various social networks, will carry a hefty price tag in excess of 40.000 yen, and will be launched before the end of the year.

I have a feeling that Sony needs to pull out all the stops or it's going to flop big time.

Touchpad? EEWWW I hate anything to do with touch screen.

Are you guys seriously saying that £400 is too much?

I said that the PS4 would be cheaper, probably no more than £500. £400 is more than fair.

It won't be £400 if it's $400, where have you got that idea? Yes we pay more for any hardware because of VAT but it won't be that much.

PS3 was £425 on launch, it won't be near that again, Sony know they can't afford to.

Ps3 in Australia was over $1000 could be due to taxes I dont know. If Ps4 comes out at that price I am not buying it until its down in price.

When PS3 first launched you could only get it in bundles that would cost $1,000 in my area. Hebce why I waited until the end of 2010 to get one.
